  1. They would chose that last episode of her senior year to let us know Imogen isn’t graduating. Kary I thought Linda said there were only two seniors being held back not three. I love Imogen and all but that’s just poor planning on Degreassi’s writing team. What do you think about this Kary?

    1. How is that poor planning on their part? I’m fine with them staying behind as long as their characters remain useful.

      1. Its poor planning because the writers did a lot to develop fimogens relationship in my opinion and for Imogen not to graduate is weird because you would think they’d want them to go off together to design school. And didn’t Fiona in Karma police say that her and Imogen got into design school. Well wouldn’t you have to send your transcripts in to get accepted in or something? I agree with you about the characters who stay on as long as they are useful they’re cool but I’m just confused because I feel this might mess up with the fimogen relationship development you know what I mean?

      2. As for Imogen’s grades/getting into design school- she could have had good enough grades to get in when she sent her first transcript earlier in the school year and then quit trying and let them get really bad, apparently to the point where she’s going to have to repeat senior year. It’s not uncommon for colleges to accept people and then decide not to let them if they quit trying and let their grades slip.

    2. Who else is being held back? I’m kinda behind on the spoilers.

    3. Anyone who’s ever applied to school can tell you that it’s very common to get “accepted” partway through grade 12, or even 11. These acceptances are conditional in that you have to actually graduate (and send in your final transcripts) in order to be officially offered admission.

    4. I’m gonna have to disagree with you on this one. I’m kind of “eh” about the two together, even though I like them separately because there isn’t really much chemistry between them and their relationship was not developed at all. It just stagnated throughout season 12. Sure, each of them had their individuals problems and were there for each other, but you’d get that support from any friend. Fimogen, together as a one entity, has yet to experience conflict and therefore we haven’t really seen them grow — they’ve just kind of been there. Unfortunately we’ll learn what they are truly made of in this upcoming episode when the future puts them in a sticky situation.

As for Imogen staying behind, I’m glad she is and it makes sense. We finally got a glimpse inside her head outside her wacky self at Degrassi and I am hoping the writers develop her more and possible explain why she is the way she is. She’s been struggling with her father’s illness so it makes sense for her not to do well in school. Even though you can be accepted into a school, usually your admissions offer is contingent upon how well you continue throughout the year, so Imogen could have easily done poorly enough to lose her spot in design school with everything that’s happened to her.

  2. At the moment it looks like Drew, Imogen and Dallas…. I might be missing someone, but these are the 3 I’m sure of

  3. Am I the only person who thinks something seems very fake about the first clip? I only got part-way through and the fall was SO fake, the acting was incredibly fake on Cristine’s part… Although it might’ve been the writing or directing. Seriously do not want her back another year, though. :/

    1. My guess is that some of keeping Imogen another year might have to do with Alex Steele deciding to leave after this season. Degrassi tries to keep a very small number of new characters coming in each half-season. (Limiting the plots needed to introduce new cast.)

The scene will probably feel better with more context, or at the very least more quality because a video recording of a TV set is always distracting.

  4. I guess I’m the only one that is not happy to watch the finale. I will miss the graduates of course. I’m totally burnt out on Eli & Clare. I can’t even look at them without cringing. I have never been like this before with couples I really don’t care for but these 2 just make me sick. I do hope that everyone is happy at the end especially Imogen. I feel she is going to very lonely in S13 since Eli & Fiona are gone. Yes I think Eli is going to be only viewed by webcam not in person until later on. I have a feeling that Jenna, Alli and Clare will diss Imogen because thats who they are. I think Adam & Becky will diss her too. So they only person I can see Imogen hanging out with will be Drew or Eli if Eli does come back for a while. Imogen reminds me of me when I was in HS but not that weird.
