Stephen Stohn has finally released information he’s been anxiously holding onto for weeks now: episode titles for season 13. We already knew that 1) 1301/1302 are titled “Summertime,” and 2) there will be no telenovela this summer. The titles released also reveal that Degrassi is also ditching the two-parter format they’ve been using since season 10.

These 8 episodes will be the show’s summer block. Below are the airdates.

It’s kind of interesting that they are actually having 40 episodes this season as opposed to the 20+ one-hour episodes (part one and part two) they’ve been having since season 10.
Brainstorming must have been tough for this season… they’ve either doubled the amount of storylines or at least fleshed them out and made them more complex this season. I also wonder if the timeline will follow season 10 and conclude before spring break… or will they actually fit a school year into one season, because they can definitely do that with 40 individual episodes… that’s a big number!
Do you think they might do a telenovella style for the fall or spring?

I agree with you, I think it is interesting that all of a sudden they are “dropping” the telenovella for now( because we don’t know if they will do it in the fall or spring blocks for now) and only displaying eight half hour episodes. I think your right they can and I think they will do one school year this season because lets face it the class of 2013 or for other words Clairs class has had the most development out of all the other classes aside from Emmas class of course. So maybe they are just going to do one school year. I also think your right on the possibility of a complex aspect added into this season. Maybe all these changes will indeed lead to that and maybe they might do a telenovella style for the fall or spring block because if you think about it Season 10-12 all had at least 40 eps which started in july and in ended in either april or may (with the exception of TTOM s12 finale). So if they are not doing two parters and dropping the tellenovella style this summer how else will they show 40 episodes if there is no tellenovela at some point to show a multiple number of episodes so they can end by may of 2014 or june at the latest. So my guess would be yes I think they will do a telenovella style possibly in the fall and spring. Another reason could be like everyone else may be speculating is the entire summer event this year could just be taking place in the summer time and if you remember the tellenovella style for season 10-12 has always depicted an period in a school year at degrassi. (S10 did the beginning of the year for the 2010-2011 school year) (S11 did the middle of the school year for that same school year) (S12 did the same thing depicting a new semester or term as they called on degrassi) so idk maybe im reading too much into this and my bad on the rant but you know it would make since. Last example (S13 is only depicting 8 separate episodes for this summer so that could also be another reason why they wouldn’t go the tellenovella route. I hope I’m making since but yeah I agree with you and lets just hope that even though there has been some drastic random changes such as( no summer tellenovella and no two-parters); S13 will be a good season to watch.

We don’t know if all of S13 will be half hour episodes but the summer event to kick of S13 will only be 8 half hour episodes though.

I know in season 11 there was a 29 episode summer block then Nowhere to Run in the fall and a 14 episode Winter/Spring block….last year we had the 20 episode summer block with a 10 episode fall/winter block (this includes tonight tonight and vegas in the episode count) and then a 10 episode spring block (the 8 aired episodes + Time of My Life) I can see them doing the 8 episode summer block for season 13 and then doing two 16 episode blocks one in Sept/Oct and the other in Feb/March
