Epitome has said several times that they’re not going to give us info about season 13 until the networks make an official announcement (which seems unlikely to come before TTOML airs on June 21st). Unfortunately, Epitome really needs to just give up on that because every time they try to keep quiet, news larger than what they would normally reveal somehow ends up getting out!
Yesterday, Degrassi was filming on location. Some of the cast members confirmed to have been there were Luke, Alicia, AJ, Jessica, Sarah, Melinda, Olivia and Lyle.

I *think* they’re filming the second block of episodes (1305-1308). If they’re still switching back to weekly episodes for the summer, then whatever they’re filming now should air in the final episodes of the summer block.

I completely agree with DTNG.
There is NO way this could be Cam’s funeral. Remember, Cam grew up in Kapuskasing, and that’s where his family is. It would make absolutely no sense from the producers’ standpoints to make something completely unrealistic like a funeral for Cam in Toronto instead of back in his hometown. Especially considering all the painstaking efforts Degrassi put into keeping this situation and its aftermath as true to real life as possible to have the maximum impact with the viewers.
This funeral scene is definitely for someone else. This has definitely perked my interest for Season 13.

OH MY GOD THEY KILLED KATIE AND/OR OWEN! Those are the only connections Luke, Alicia, Olivia, and Lyle’s characters have. Rev. Baker is preaching at the funeral so Becky decided to go and brought Jenna and Connor along because going to funerals is their idea of a fun date. I’ve figured it all out guys! I’m a genius!

Then why would Eli fly in from NY for Adam’s dad or Luke Baker?? Thats a Priest not a Minister. The Torres family is Catholic and they are at a cemetery. Sorry to sound rude.. No hate just observing.

I didn’t really think about the religious aspect of it so you have a point with that. I figured since Eli/Adam are good friends he probably knows Mr. Torres off screen. Nothing I can think of as a possibility of the current characters on the show makes 100% sense though.
A lot of the signs point to Adam too but like others have said the thing that keeps me from completely thinking it’s him is I can’t see the writers doing two major deaths so close together.

Who do you all think it is? I honestly can’t think of who they’d kill off!! My first thought as Clare, but I highly doubt it. Maybe ( and hopefully) its a grown up, like a teacher or someone like that.

Many think its Adam but fans are debunking it because Clare is not there.. Clare could be in deep depression thats the only think I can think of. Plus the girl who was there said she did not see Clare, Adam or Imogen’s name on the trailers. The only names she saw where, Drew, Bianca, Jenna, Connor, Tristan, Becky, Alli, Dallas and Eli and a few others she did not recognize.. Plus she was there for 2 hours.

I know a lot of people are speculating that Adam dies because Jordan has mysteriously disappeared into thin air, which makes me a little unnerved. They would have to really hit the nail on the head with this one. It’s widely known that trans violence and death rates are fairly high, and they’d have to be careful about how they represent it (if, of course, Adam does die and if the story has something to do with him being FTM and isn’t just some random death). If they could somehow incorporate that into the story, it would be interesting. I’m not sure if it would fly, though, as Degrassi writers have been making such monumental efforts to show a positive trans storyline.

I agree with you Erica. After tackling the suicide issue this year and all its fallout, it would seem highly unlikely that the producers would tackle another huge character death plot right away in Season 13. But then again, they may be trying to keep everyone on their toes with the unexpected, so we’ll see. I’ve been trying to put each potential character that who they would kill off, and each of them seems to get ruled out due to various reasons. I am really curious to see who it is.

Yeah, there’s definitely a need for writers to be careful if this is the route they take. I know so many viewers were upset about the way Cam’s death was depicted in the episodes following Bittersweet Symphony (i.e. writers blaming Cam for his own suicide rather than exploring the social implications, etc.) and it would be a shame if the same thing happened with Adam’s death, especially within such a short timespan between the two deaths.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don’t think anyone dies. At least not yet. This is most likely somehow related to the promo video we’ll most likely get for season 13. I would be really SHOCKED if they tackled a death this soon after Cam…. it’s WAY too soon. Unless of course they’re going back to shorter seasons and the original 1 season = 1 year format.

Why on earth would do a morbid promo video.. Plus that girl said.. Jordon & Aislinn were not there.. She didn’t even see Clare or Adams names on the trailers. I doubt its Clare that died.. If it was any Adam’s Dad that died Clare would be there.. If Adam passed I think Clare would take it the hardest out everyone.. Maybe Clare is in a dark depression, maybe Clare had a falling out with all her friends again because maybe she is an emotional mess about Eli. Who knows but everything points out to Adam. Btw Both Torres parents are there. I’m sorry if I sound rude. :(

Or maybe – Eli finds out that CLare has cancer.. And the funeral is his nightmare? So the death isn’t actually real, just Elis mind? I’m not over Cams death at all, and killing either Adam, Clare or whoever, just seems too mean.. But then again, anything can happen on Degrassi.

Actually, you know, that sound’s legit. The way he has struggled with death, it very well could be. The only other possibilities I could think of, and I may be wrong, could be Dallas (getting killed drinking and driving), or Adam (dying from a medical issue during his FTM surgery).

Hanna! I think that is a brilliant observation you made. Especially with how his first love died and all and now he finally has found his “soul mate” and may be losing her too so he has a nightmare (as you said)!
Did anyone else think of how the last time they shot a bathroom scene, like where Clare and Alli were talking, back in the old school Degrassi: The Next Generation cast when Emma and Manny were in the bathroom having some sort of serious talk, too? Or it was Paige or something, I don’t remember exactly, but it definitely reminded me of it!!!

That’s exactly what I thought! Both with his hoarding after Julia passed, and him doing drugs after Cams. And honestly I just feel it would be too much to kill of another character.
And that bathroom scene did actually remind of that too! It’s like a deja-vu or something.

Before I saw this, I was talking to a friend about whether Claire would die from cancer. I know Cam just died, but has Degrassi had a story about anyone dying from cancer? I know Spinner had cancer, Holly J had kidney problems, etc…but nobody has actually died. If I had to bet, I would think Claire, especially after tonight’s episode and the MRI.

Okay, I don’t think it’s Imogen’s dad, or Drew’s mom for whoever said one of those two.
Facts: Imogen and Adam weren’t there.
Because Clare wasn’t there, and Cam is dead and didn’t have a funeral, doesn’t mean it’s any of them.
I don’t think it could be Zoe’s character in West Drive because Maya, Miles, Tristan and Winston would probably be there.
I understand that Clare has cancer, but she could fight it.
It could possibly be Adam because maybe in the first few episodes, Adam is bullied for being transgender and maybe he commits suicide.
But maybe not. Maybe Adam doesn’t want to be a boy anymore and becomes Gracie again.
Now that I look at the Much promo for next week (the 25th), with Clare asking if she will die, and with her mom crying, it’s possible that It could be clare. Let’s brainstorm in my next post since this one is too long..

These are the people at the funeral. Mom & Dad Torres, Drew, Bianca, Eli, Becky, Alli, Jonnor, Dallas, Tristan and Maya. These people were not on location Clare, Imogen and Adam. I can exclude Clare because she maybe at the hospital getting treatments.. So that leaves Imogen & Adam. Also Note that Munro & Luke said in a few interviewa there is a big plot twist. And I think has to do with the day camp.

Well it’s either a dream sequence regarding Adam or Adam does wind up dying. Clare obviously wouldn’t be there because she’s in the hospital and can’t go. That lane he was driving on seemed very narrow. Not possible for two cars to drive it at one time so how would they have been able to pass each other to begin with? Truthfully I took Cam’s death a lot harder.

I guess I’m the only who doesn’t think this is a dream. I know Clare isn’t there because she is still in the hospital doing her chemo or recovering from the chemo. The only reason I think Imogen is not there is because she was not invited by Becky? or Imogen is way too distraught. I think none of the tenners are there because they were also filming that Paris scene on the other side of this Park (Its Called Allen Gardens Park, go look on line and you will no what i’m talking about) Its Where Maya & Miles found Tristan. So the only people who are at this funeral are Mr & Mrs Torres, Drew, Bianca, Eli, Alli, Connor, Becky and Jenna.

And Location fees are very costly.. So why waste on a funeral dream scene?? I know fans are in serious denial. More than 2 deaths can occur in HS. Its a part of reality. Even the actors said they never know when there time is up. So thats how the show goes.
