In November of last year Alicia and many of the other seniors filmed their last scenes of season 12. If you didn’t know it by then, their responses on twitter confirmed that their characters were indeed graduating.
There’s long been speculation that Imogen is actually going to stay behind and be around in season 13 (amplified by certain hints in TeenNick’s TTOML promo). Now we can add Bianca to that list, as Alicia tweeted that she was on set Friday.

Alicia was there for the night shoot, along with Jessica, Melinda, AJ, Luke, Demetrius and Jahmil. There’s no reason to believe she was sitting out there in freezing weather just for the fun of it. Out of everyone graduating, Bianca returning in some capacity makes sense and shouldn’t be a shock to anyone…after all that effort the show put into Drianca (which led to their eventual engagement), it would be a cop out to have them suddenly implode in TTOML or Summertime, and they can’t pretend Drianca doesn’t exist just because Bianca’s far away at university.
So how much of a role would Bianca play in season 13? That’s unclear, but there’s one thing we do know: Degrassi wrapped episodes 1301-1304 on May 7th, so whatever they were filming on Friday is probably from 1305-1308. If MuchMusic is still hell-bent on the show being aired in a weekly format this summer as opposed to the telenovela, we could see Bianca deep into the summer block.

So glad Bianca is gonna be around next season, since none of the other characters can match up to her awesome bitch attitude!
And I’m still wondering exactly WHY MuchMusic would want to return to the weekly format when the telenovela has been bringing in high ratings. And because of this I wonder if it has caused any confrontations between Much and TeenNick, since I assume TeenNick wants to keep the telenovela format.

Kary, this is great news. Fiona and Bianca are my all time favorite characters on Degrassi. I like their growth and maturity over the years. Not to mention I think they are the 2 best looking cast members ever. :) ……I always thought Imogene was a year behind this graduating class? So it would make sense for Fiona and Bianca to be in a few episodes.

I would much rather her stay, then to see Fiona for another season. All though, it wouldn’t surprise me if somehow Fiona stayed.

I’m happy about this Bianca news but I wished so much that Drew wasn’t staying another year. I’d be fine with him having small roles instead because unlike most of the seniors he’s had many A or B plots to develop him.

I think Bianca may become a recurring character appearing in a few episodes. Still hoping for an A-plot with her.
