Just a few promo pics from Not Ready To Make Nice…I will post more pics as they come in. Here’s the episode descriptions for Parts 1 and 2:

1136 – Not Ready to Make Nice, Part 1
On Jake’s birthday, he invites his “new girl” over for dinner. Clare loses her temper at the table and decides she can’t share a house with Jake anymore. The new plan: moving in with dad… if he agrees. When Connor and Mo compete for a spot on the football team, Connor has a hard time fitting in with the guys. Fiona realizes she’s developing a crush on Imogen when they work together on a school project. Instead of confessing her feelings, she distracts herself by playing matchmaker for her friends.

1137 – Not Ready to Make Nice, Part 2
Clare feels like everyone in her life has rejected her — everyone except her new friend Summer, who still wants her to move in. Summer’s easygoing attitude seems like exactly what Clare needs, but is this new living situation too good to be true? Jake decides to do a little investigating. Meanwhile, Fiona arranges a surprise date for Eli and Imogen at her loft, but the set-up is a disaster. Connor is sick of Mo’s constant teasing during football practice, so he sets him up on a date with an imaginary girl.

  1. These episodes sound like they will be awesom!!! And maybe I will start to like Clare as character again!

  2. I want Clare to just become the old Clare. They changed her drastically in a very short time. She went from being a strong, confident non-adjusted girl who cared more about school than boys to an obsessive, non-confident girl who can survive without a boy to compliment her. Clare needs to stop worrying about boys so much and start thinking about making herself happy. I mean seriously, she gav e up her best friend for her cute step brother. Honestly, Clare needs to man up and deal with the issues in her life (and date Eli again).

    1. She needs to be single and forget about Eli and Jake and figure out what she really wants. She needs to fix her issues with her family. Boys are actually clouding her better judgement about who she really is.

    3. I’d rather Clare stay single at least until the second half of season 12. She’s always in relationships and I think while some of the experiences that occurred in those relationships with those guys were good, some weren’t. Clare has issues that are a result of her parents divorce and the drastic changes in the aftermath. It’s as if no one is paying her attention and are focused soely on them – even Glenn who I thought was more insightful than Clare came off in the preview as anything but (though I sympathize with him and Clare there, not so much with Helen).

  4. I don’t want all of the “old Clare” back. I think her character has some good qualities to it even now then compared back to her appearance. Lots of teens suffer from bouts of confidence/not confidence, girl/boy obsession/need to be with someone, and friendships have suffered. I get where Clare is coming from and her actions will seem realistic to some girls. Alli hasn’t had the best track record as being a good friend (neither has Clare) considering she kissed both KC and Jake.

Degrassi seems more inclined to focus on hooking people together (maybe for reactions) than taking on more personal issues or shaping back stories. Too many characters have fallen through the cracks while others seem to get more than enough drama to fill an hour long episode. The gaps are obvious and to me takes away from all the characters’ potentials.

It would be so much better if instead of this Clare/Jenna drama, the writers had Mr. Edwards date a much younger (college aged) woman, have Jake’s mother be drug addict (weed) that died after choosing her addiction over the family

    1. Did you just say that a person who smokes “weed” is a drug addict? God I miss the old degrassi days when I was 11 and didn’t write stupid things on internet forums.

      1. No, I said I wanted Jake’s mother to be a drug addict. I’m sure some people can go around claiming they can smoke weed and aren’t addicted but some people can become addicted to anything including marijuana. I wanted Jake’s mother to have an addiction and I believed using the weed found in the couch would make it less random if neither Martin men was the owner. God I miss the days when people knew how to respond without getting their panties in a bunch. A mere question would’ve been nice.

  5. I hope these next two episodes is the start of Clare realizing the mess that she emotionally is in. I must say that I am completely ok with Jenna and Jake dating. I actually think they might compliment each other. I just want Clare to use this break to perhaps find some of the strength that she originally came with. After that I hope we get a big episode break from both Clare and Jake because I am tired of hearing about their drama.

  6. That 7th picture–I’m hoping for some old-fashioned KC/Connor interaction! I miss their friendship.

  7. The way they phrase that Jake invites his “new girl” for dinner makes me think that Jake and Jenna won’t become an item, Clare just thinks they will.

  8. I hope Clares mother gets her freaking head out of the clouds and help her daughter. The communication in this familly is rediculous. Helen and Randall were very stricked with Darcy about dating why not with Clare. Clare was brought up so sheltered about her faith in God All she knew was how important family is, the sacrament of marriage, her wanting to keep her virginity until marriage. All shattered by her parents divorce, her fathers infidelity the list goes on. Clare has no idea what is right from wrong. Everytime something goes wrong she gets rude and snotty at her parents. Example~~ She rubbed her parents nose about Eli being atheist and other things that hurt Eli at least her parents were polite. When her mom announced that her and Glen are getting married she threw the whip again by telling them that she dating Jake. Most guys would never want date a person who keeps treating them like crap. This is why I don’t ship Ecare, Cake and Klare. Clare needs to grow up she acting like a 12 year old girl.

    1. Clare’s breakdown was a longtime coming since the divorce. Some kids/teens act out due to resentment, frustration and feelings of betrayel, others can deal better. While at times Clare’s behavior is cringeworthy, it’s not coming from nowhere and can be relatable. She comes off as more real.

This season Helen was so focused on getting with another man than helping her daughter through the divorce and the aftermath. Heck, she didn’t even wait that long to get hitched. Sure, she knew Glen beforehand but given the fact that she was barely divorced when they got married, just concerned me. Often parents at least talk to their child beforehand when they’re going to date (or married) and see how their child feels about it. And most don’t go rushing to the altar to try their luck. Helen came off as completely selfish and unyeilding when Clare brought up Jake. Clare reacted back in a negative manner as well.

While the two female ‘children’ fought at the table before prom, the more adult males looked on. The parent/child relationship between Glen and Jake was refreshing and admirable.

I have always enjoyed DTNG sports plots, from Basketball Diaries in Season 1 all the way through “99 Problems” in Season 10, so I’m excited about the Connor/Mo plot.

  11. the only reason why i feel sorry for clare is becasue she has to deal with jenna again. she already had to deal with losing kc to jenna. now she has to deal with losing jake to jenna. lol

  12. i think thats its not right that jake brings jenna over right after their break-up. i dont blame clare for being upset but she totally didnt handle it right. im really sick of how the writers made clare selfish and just whinny. after eli and clare broke u, and im not saying that the should’ve stayed together or she needs eli or anything, clare just started focusing her whole life on jake. she lost sight of who she is and was jumping into a relationship too soon. m sick of clare. i really miss the old clare in season 10. she was true to herself and she wasnt focusing her whole life on the relationship like she’s been doing all of season 11.5.

with eli/fiona/imogen, im not really suprise that fiona wont admit to her feelings. she is still getting use to being a lesbain and after how she treated imogen, i dont blame her. i just dont like how she is going to set eli and imogen up. its a recipe for a disaster. eli is bi-polar and this might put too much pressure on him. a relationship shouldnt be started by a friend who was just trying to hide her feelings.
