[WARNING: THIS EPISODE REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS]

PLOT A: Fiona faces Bobby in trial, and sorts out her romantic feelings.
Fiona’s released from rehab just in time for her trial against Bobby. Her mom wants her to settle, but Fiona’s adamant about going through with it…as long as Holly J can come with them to New York. The defense does its best to break Fiona and make her look unreliable, but in a shocker Tinsley (who accompanied Bobby to the trial) admits that Bobby had abused her as well…so Fiona wins her case.

Upon returning to Degrassi, Fiona mends things with Adam by having a movie night. Fiona tries to convince Adam that she likes him, but fails after saying that she likes that Adam is “boy-ish and girl-ish.” Reading between the lines, Adam realizes Fiona is a lesbian and is left heartbroken, again.

At a girls’ night, Holly J and Fiona dish about love. Holly J admits she’s still in love with Declan. After Holly J goes to bed, Fiona confesses to her mom that she’s a lesbian, and that she’s in love with Holly J. Fiona also tells Holly J she’s a lesbian, but neglects to reveal her true feelings knowing Holly J doesn‘t feel the same.

Fiona’s storyline was basically separated into two plots, both of which were well done. There was never any doubt as to whether or not Fiona would stay sober. With the Holly J thing looming right around the corner the drama of whether or not Fiona would relapse and get drunk again never really existed. The trial itself was fantastic. It’s one of those moments where Fiona’s an extreme underdog, so you’re hoping she’ll somehow pull through. I was having flashbacks to Paige’s trial in Ghost In The Machine until Tinsley confessed that she’d also been slapped by Bobby. I can’t even fathom the amount of bravery it’d take someone to admit to something like that in that situation.

Part 2 is even better, as Adam (an extremely smart character) calls Fiona out on her crap, aka the fact that she’s using him. Annie Clark brings tenderness to a personal moment, when Fiona realizes that she and Holly J will never be together. I highly doubt anyone in the Degrassi universe thought Folly J would happen, and even less were rooting for them to begin with. But Annie’s acting does a beautiful job of making you feel sorry for her unrequited love; as she lies there in bed, shedding tears, you feel her pain.

The good part is the plot is left at a crossroad that can’t be easily determined. Fiona could very well stir things up one day and confess her love to Holly J. Or she could do something I’m familiar with: continue to bite her tongue and suffer silently, knowing the kind of love she has for the person closest to her emotionally will never be returned.

PLOT B: Anya feels violated after Owen’s too touchy feely.
Anya’s in a CPR class with Owen, and she feels uncomfortable when he nonchalantly feels her up during an exercise (aka rubbing on her arms in that creepy, flirty “I want you” way). She complains to Coach Armstrong, which gets Owen kicked out of the class. Owen gets pissed that Anya went to the teacher instead of coming to him directly, but he eventually apologizes.

Owen also reveals that he likes Anya in a romantic way.

Anya, touched by Owen’s sincere apology, feels bad for getting him kicked out of CPR class and gets him reinstated. But, in a random meeting at The Dot, he pulls yet another creepy flirty move (this time hugging her from behind) and Anya lets him have it. She even takes the time to embarrass him in front of the other girls there, the girls Owen arrogantly believes he could have without trying.

Discussing Part 1 last week I noticed a lot of people talking about how simplistic and realistic Alli’s plot was. No no no no no….THIS plot is a fantastic example of a simple, yet effective Degrassi plot. It’s realistic in many ways, because they don’t allow this standard television scenario to play out the way it would 99 out of 100 times. Anya isn’t interested in Owen romantically, and never comes close to wavering. Owen is finally humanized in this episode (we see that he genuinely wants to be a lifeguard), but it’s not to the point where they re-shape him into someone new; in the end, he’s still a douchebag that doesn’t get that you can’t put your hands all over girls whenever you please. God, I hope the rest of the male population was paying attention to this plot.

When I say a storyline needs to be interesting and engaging, this is the kind of plot I’m talking about. It does a great job of executing the story, and its theme is universally relatable. It’s not dramatic and no one dies, but not all Degrassi storylines need to be high octane in intensity in order to be good.

PLOT C: Alli returns to Degrassi, and finds a way to deal with facing Drew.
Alli’s return to Degrassi happens to be one of the biggest “I don’t really care” moments for me recently. She’s reinstated at Degrassi, and dreads the thought of having to see Drew in the halls again. She learns that if students do poorly on the standardized tests, then Principal Simpson’s job is in jeopardy.

She devises a plan to gather the “dumb” grade 10 students (and Drew), and tutor them to prepare them for the test. Of course, like most teenagers, they aren’t motivated to study on their own. The only way Alli gets them to study is to (without Simpson’s initial permission) promise the students a dance if they do well on the test.

They do well, Simpson’s job is saved, the school gets a dance and everyone lives happily ever after.

Bravo to Alli for her efforts, but what a weak, waste of a plot. And if the argument is that it’s just here to set up the dance in Drop The World, then it’s a weak, waste of a set up plot. Alli’s return is ultimately underwhelming, through no fault of her own; my disdain for this plot has nothing to do with Alli, it‘s all about the story itself. Part 1 moved so slowly that everything in Part 2 had to be rushed. Everything that could’ve mattered beyond the extremely contrived plot to “rally the troops” en route to a school dance were shoved aside. The awkward tension between Alli and Drew was forced, and their “re-connection” was crammed into two brief musical montages. Why bother dropping major hints of an Alli/Drew/Bianca love triangle if you’re not even going to put effort into setting it up?

All season long Degrassi has been setting up future storylines, so not really caring about what happens in a set-up plot because all that anyone cares about is its end result isn’t an excuse. There’s an infinite number of ways they could’ve made a dance happen, AND at the same time make its worthwhile storyline (Alli/Drew) something that’s watchable…they just so happened to pick the one way that doesn’t work.

*************************

So this was supposed to be the part where I tell you where I’m going dark for two week’s because I wanted to know nothing about Drop The World…..well that’s dream was killed before it even began. Not even a full minute after I finished watching the episode i stumbled across a good 20 people tweeting about Eli and the gun. I wasn’t even trying…the tweets practically slapped me in the face. So now my plans are pretty much ruined. Thanks a lot twitterverse.

Now instead I have to post Drop The World promo below.  Am I the only one that laughed out loud at Eli with a shotgun in his hand? Before I saw the promo people were generically talking about Eli having a gun, and I assumed it was a handgun.  I know he’s know shooting at another person in the scene used in the promo, but I don’t buy for a second that he’s gonna point and shoot it at another human being.

Alli’s plot is obviously a set up for the dance in Drop the World, thus why it isn’t anything amazing.

      2. I doesn’t have to be amazing…but it does have to be interesting/engaging/etc, and I didn’t think it was.

      3. Yeah, the Alli Test plot was simply there to explain why there’s a dance in Drop the World.

If there wasn’t this set-up, and there was just ‘suddenly Dance’ in Drop the World people would get confused as to what’s going on. Since its all lockdown in the school still.

      4. I totally get that, but just b/c it’s a set-up plot doesn’t mean that it “doesn’t count,” or that its contents should be overlooked because only the outcome matters :-/

      5. It’s a weak C-plot, no dispute there. But I do think it’s more set-up for the coming episodes than we think. I’m figuring that all of the plots in Chasing Pavements will show up in Drop the World.

The Alli/Drew/Bianca stuff didn’t feel… complete. It felt like, especially from the looks Bianca was giving, that it was also going to extend into Drop the World.

Which means anyone that dislikes Alli will be frothing at the mouth from the past every episode of In Too Deep giving her a plot.

      6. I agree, all of the plots in Chasing Pavements felt like they weren’t finished, so I hope we’ll see more of them. I didn’t have a problem with Alli in this ep, it was the plot itself…I only dislike Alli when she becomes extremely boy crazy, or doesn’t take responsibilty for her actions. But I don’t forsee any of that happening if Alli/Drew/Bianca shifts into love triangle mode in Drop The World.

      7. I think the biggest problem with the Alli plot was it had no heart. Not really anyway. They set up it might have a heart with Alli/Drew drama but NOTHING HAPPENED. Compared to the other two plots in the episode, and the past Alli plot, which all had lots of heart to them it was just… lackluster.

Hopefully Drop the World will add something to it.

Incidentally I’d say Wes’s Pogo plot had more heart than Alli’s Chasing Pavements plot. (None of this lack of heart changes the fact that we needed the set-up for the Drop the World dance)

    2. I think Alli’s story was better but still seemed a little silly. I feel like they could have given Alli a better story and just made this dance even more of a minor part of the episode.

I think you’re right that the reason Eli is acting like this is because he doesn’t want Clare to go anywhere so nothing happens to her but just on that one day and then things would go back to normal. That’s all it is. I think Eli and Clare will be the one couple on degrassi that makes it through.”

    FIONA:
As much as I didn’t want to see Adam get hurt, it was pretty much gonna happen and it was a good thing. I’m glad about the way she came out, just straightforward and genuine. I’m glad that it didn’t effect her and Holly J’s friendship and leave no damn cliffhanger.

    ALLI:

I actually like this plot because it was a very positive thing for her to do and she didn’t go on her “I wanna be popular” rampage. But I was worried about her and Drew. The way they were smiling at each other got me nervous and I really hope she doesn’t go back out with that dog Drew.

If u claim you’ve loved someone who u lost so much yet when ur angry u take a gun and shoot at a picture of that person then u my friend need some serious help. 25. Okay, I just have to say that for anyone (including me) that saw the Annie Clark interview before the episode airing that it totally didn’t ruin the plot. Some people say that it ruined it but we all knew what was comming, she just confirmed it.

Now, with that out of the way, here’s what I say about Chasing Pavements:

Plot A: I actually really enjoyed this plot. Annie Clark did an amazing job in these past few episodes. In part 1, watching Fiona battle her main plotline was terrific. The writers did a good job transitioning from her drinking problems, to Bobby, to her underlying feelings. Most people were able to guess that the Holly J/Fiona almost kiss scene was a dream and they were right. The first thing I noticed was how Fiona didn’t freak out as if it had happened multiple times before. The writing between Fiona and Adam when after they were making out was better than a lot of the previous writting this season. Although watching her break Adam’s heart (again) wasn’t necessarily fun, he seemed less hurt than when he brought her to the intervention. Watching Fiona struggle with her feelings during her sleepover with Holly J was executed well. It really showed character development in Fiona. When she was talking to her mom the scene was well set; with Fiona almost drinking but being able to resist, her mom supporting her, and Fiona aknowlegding her feelings towards Holly J as love. The funniest part of this plot by far was when she told Holly j and she instantly asked if Fiona liked her. The one thing I’m a bit confused about is when Fiona asked if Adam got her letter. I don’t think she was talking about the jounral entry, but I could be wrong. I wish that note had been addressed by Adam to get a bit more closure with them. Overall, although it was the end of Fadam and the non-begining of Folly J, this plot was excedingly good. I enjoyed every scene of this plot due to the fantasic writing, the terrific acting, and the overall storyline. MY GRADE: A+

Plot B: I think this is Alli’s plot (at least it seemed like it in part 2 as the Anya plot was barely there). This plot wasn’t necessarily boring but it wasn’t captivating. This was obviously just a set up for the dance in the final episodes. Part 1 was definitely a waste of a plot, but it picked up a bit in part 2. Seeing Drew and Alli interact in a different way was nice and I laughed when Drew refused to be tutored until Bianca told him to do it. There seemed to be a lot of foreshadowing about a possible reunion of Alli/Drew or Degrassi is palying with us. For example, the awkward almost hug between the two and when Bianca looked over at them while they studied and looked jealous. My favorite character in this plot was mr. Simpson because his little “meeting” with Alli was some good comic relief. Although it was good to see Alli doing something other than “try to get popular” or “try to get Drew” or “fight Bianca” like every other one of her plots this season (and it was nice to see Clare minus Eli), this plot just didn’t wow me at all. But it was fair. MY GRADE: C+

Plot C: The Anya/Owen thing was just random. The most creative part of the plot was when Anya thought she was holding a grudge against Owen becasue of what happened between him, Zane, and Riley. The sexual harassment part was a good relation to a very common situation and seeing Anya embarrass Owen at the Dot was good. Owen was a bit creepy when he smelled anya’s hair and Chantey was, once again, a pointless, meaningless character. The plot was underdeveloped, but had good intentions and was relatable to everyday scenarios. MY GRADE: C

    Promo thoughts:

There is no death!!! it was confirmed that there would be either a shooitng OR a death and by the promos we can tell that the shooting isn’t what we thought it would be.

Eli probably pins the picture of Julia and him (becasue we know he’s in it) to a tree by the abandoned church and blames Clare and his break on her. He was probably feeling overprotective because the anniversary of Julia’s death was comming up. My guess is that the shooting and the “break-up” happen in part 1. Part 2 will probably take place at the dance when Eli is driving the hearse around.

Yes, i am anxious for this plot but I’m not jumping out of my seat. It’s another EClare heavy plot that would only be liked by half of the population. If they break up then the Eli fangirls will hate Clare’s guts and the EClare shippers will be all over the web saying how pissed off and mad they are. If they stay together than you get everyone else saying of wack Clare is for bein gwith Eli and how mentally unstable Eli appears to be. In the end, there is no winning for this plot because one way or another, a large fanbase will not like it.

I kind of want to know the other plots. I feel like no matter what those plots will be overshadowed by the A plot of EClare. Plus, this episode has the potential to be a fantasic one or totally backfire due to EClare overload. So I hope the other plots will even out the EClare dosage a little.

Oh, and don’t be expecting closure on the final part of Drop the World. I don’t know where, but I believe in multiple interviews it was said that season 10 will end on a cliffhanger.

      3. I agree about the Alli overload but saying that EClare is being shown the same amount as others is totally false. They were in practically every episode in the fall. The writers know how popular Eli is as a character and how popular the couple is. Those who say that we have barely seen EClare are trying to be the buffer between the fangirls and the haters. While I am not an intense fan I do like the pairing. However, I wouldnt be against a little EClare hiatus.

      5. I just crunched some numbers. Clare has had a major role in a plot 7 times this season, and a supporting role in a plot 7 times (this would be every Alli plot, most Adam plots, etc. Clare is there but she driving the story). Eli in turn has been a major role in 9 plots, and a supporting role in 3.

Fiona’s been the main role in 7 plots, Dave 8 plots, Alli 9 plots, and Holly J 10 plots. Just for the comparison numbers. (But Dave’s almost entirely C plots, while everyone else jumps around the numbers a bit).

So it isn’t so much that we’ve seen more of them, but that when we see one we almost always see the other.

We do see more of them than we see Connor, Bianca, and Chantay. Who have very low counts of spotlight, but plenty of support time. Also my math isn’t flawless, I counted Clare as support during Purple Pills, and both as support during My Body as a Cage. So there is wiggle room for what is ‘major role.’ For those wondering I keep the major role assessment as the plot revolves around them/their interaction. Support is where they could be replaced by other characters and not change the plot much.

      6. @new-be I understand what ur saying. But when I say we haven’t seen eclare in like 5 weeks I mean we haven’t seen the 2 together in like 5 weeks. I no some ppl don’t like just 1 of them in paticular but most ppl just don’t like the 2 together. Saying that we’ve seen the two TOGETHER alot recently would be a lie becuz we haven’t seen the 2 together like I said for about 5 weeks. If u ppl think that still isn’t long enough then u need to get with the program. There not going to keep a couple as popular as them away for like half the season like they do with ziley. The ppl that work the show want what ever gets them most views and that just so happens to be eclare.

  26. Fiona’s story was actually really good. I am glad she came out to her Mom. (And I’ll admit that the Dolly J fan in me was so happy when Holly J talked about how much she loved/loves Declan). I was glad they did not throw the whole story into one episode. Fiona came out and that was enough, they didn’t throw in her confessing her feelings to Holly J just yet. Fiona started out as nothing more than Declan’s twin sister. Now she has become an incredibly memorable character, probably more memorable than Declan.

Anya and Owen. I actually thought Owen would be nice and Anya would fall for him and then we’d have a triange with Chris/Anya/Owen. But nope. IDK how I feel. A part of me still feels like this whole story goes back to that scene in season one where Spike stands up to the creeper at the mall. BTW anyone notice make up was a little much this episode?

Alli’s story: Eh it was a cute little story I suppose. Felt sorta Degrassi season 1. I feel like Degrassi has come far from those stories. I would have preferred if they had focused on Alli getting over Drew more and less on the tests.

Excited for Drop the World. But not expecting anything crazy. I imagine it might be really intense, but the next episode we will see is the Spring Break thing. So… how intense can the episode be if it’s followed up by that? Ya know what I mean? It can still be awesome just nothing over the top. But you never know. Overall I’m anxious to see how they end this kickass season.

Imagine what she’s going through. She’s in love with the woman that her brother went out with. She knows it can never go anywhere. I feel so bad for her.
I can relate, pretty much. I know how hard it is.

Clare tells Eli she wants to take a break and he gets super upset and blames all this on Julia or his not letting Julia leave his mind so her tries different things to try and get her out of his mind like shooting a picture of her and such then he finally realizes the only way to get rid of Julia is to kill himself (because I think we all agree he has some mental issues) thus we have the whole car thing we’ve seen in the promos so maybe he tries to get himself into a car accident to kill himself but he ends up going to hospital or something of that nature.

That just seems like how it will go to me but I could be wrong because we know the promos can be a bit deceiving.

It’s so strange, but I feel like one of the only way Eli can realize how much he needs help is if something happened to Clare, not the other way around. But, in the promo, Clare is running into the hospital. I’m am so curious how this is going to turn out. I genuinely have no idea.

As for the fangirls who this it’s ‘hot’ that Eli has officially lost his mind, I am so concerned for the wellbeing of the youth. I just hope they don’t demonize Clare… “Damn you for having self-respect and sticking up for yourself in an abusive relationship!” Gah.

It seriously worries me that girls think this is romantic. Controlling, smothering behavior is not romantic. Ever. It’s scary and can lead to violence, stalking, etc. I have seen it happen too many times. I pray that they’re just blinded by the character and that they wouldn’t actually think this was romantic if they saw it play out in real life, but I’m honestly not so sure.

Wow, where to start…Fiona’s plot the last two episodes has really been interesting, though I was bummed when her and Adam broke up. I think the plot with Alli was actually kinda good, especially the scenes with her and Mr. Simpson. The Anya/Owen plot wasn’t all that great, but once again Chantay did help IMHO. As for the next two episodes, I had stated on the Facebook Degrassi page that I have noticed a strange similarity between Eli and Rick, and that promo reassures it more. Eli + a gun = SCARY!!! As for the subplots, I think one is about Holly J and Sav, and the other is KC and Jenna. All in all, this has been one of the better seasons in a long while, especially the Adam/Gracie storyline a while back.

  47. Two things:

    1. I was surprised that Adam didn’t freak out when fiona lifted his shirt. I thought for sure that when she did that he would freak out on her, but he didn’t. This did confuse me a bit. Was he so madly in love that he didn’t care? Because if he’s not even comfortable in his body why would he want Fiona to see/touch it. I just expected a totally different reaction.

    2. I hope to see some sort of Fiona-Adam friendship next season. I know that if a relationship ends badly like that then they normally never talk again but I feel like it would be beneifical to have them be friends (as he was the one to call her out on being gay.) Plus, they have good chemistry and feel confortable around each other. I know Degrassi doesn’t do a lot of post-breakup frienships, but this could be a great opportunity to do one.

This was one of my favorite episodes this season all the Fiona episodes during season 10 have been fantastic i know a lot of people thought Fiona being a lesbian was sudden but if you look back to season 9 when she was fake dating Riley you can see that the writers have been subtlety setting this up i like how she was straightforward with coming out to her mom and holly j i know that it usually takes time to get the courage to come out but that’s just the kind of person fiona is she doesn’t linger too much on what other people might think of her so props for being honest with herself also i would like to award a million cool points to fiona’s mom for not freaking out and being supportive of fiona the way a mother should i feel like her and adam should be friends even though they broke up because they’re good together and who knows maybe fiona could help find him a girlfriend or something but i feel fiona’s pain being in love with someone that will never love her the way she does with that being said i liked how holly j said she loved fiona no matter what when fiona asked holly j if her being a lesbian changed anything of course not in the way fiona would like but still i thought it was sweet also i don’t think that holly j has completely caught on that she’s fiona’s love interest because a couple of promos back (i can’t remember which one) we see anya saying “you’re in love with holly j aren’t you” to someone with that being said Ms. Holly J Sinclair you have captured the hearts of both the Coyne’s

  50. I think the Fiona plot was only interesting in part 2. The first half was to only get rid of the Bobby storyline. Come on, we knew she was going to win the trial. I knew Fadam was just a plot device for Fiona’s lesbianism. I think the scenes where Fiona came out to her mom and later HJ were too easy. She seemed uncomfortable about her sexuality, so her being able to come out so easily seemed unrealistic. I think they just wanted to avoid a coming out story as lengthy as Marco and Riley (ugh). It’s refreshing, though. I really just wish they didn’t reveal Fiona’s sexuality months ago, though.

I think the Anya/Owen plot was useless. It seemed like they just needed an excuse for Daniel Kelly being in the opening credits (which still makes no sense). It’s irrelevant to everything.

The Alli plot was just boring. I realize it was a set up for the dance in Drop the World, but that makes me question why there has to be a dance again. I don’t mind the episode being about Eli, as overrated as he is, as long as it actually pays off. All Falls Down was such a letdown. I found it funny Stephen Stohn compared it to Time Stands Still. What a joke.

    1. I totally agree with this post (especially the All Falls Down part, lol) but I guess the reason for Fiona’s easy coming out is because they haven’t done a storyline where the family/friends are truly accepting. Not that I agree with how quick it was, though, but honestly, it’s Fiona we’re talking about here…I’m pretty sure her mom and HJ are used to the crazy drama. xD

    2. I disagree completely!

Fiona’s Plot- Part One and Two are great storylines. The writers handled those well. the acting was incredible. Annie Clark tackled every emotion remarkable. I actually could relate to this story; it felt ‘REALISTIC’ enough to me. Part One didn’t just seem like they were trying to get rid of Bobby. My opinion, it seemed like they were bringing it back to make it more realistic since they never completely finish the plot; I didn’t really expect her to win (Precisely why Tinsley’s speaking out against Bobby was a shocker). As for Part Two, Yes I have to agree this was a lot interesting. I enjoyed the whole Adam and Fiona reunited scenes. (I’m not exactly a fan of Fadam, but it was nice to see them again.) I don’t believe the whole Adam and Fiona hook-up was plot device for Fiona’s lesbianism, considering the fact that we didn’t know exactly the truth… Was she doing it for comfort (Not to be lonely) or was she doing it because she’s lesbian (Where she says she doesn’t care Adam was really a girl) If you think about, Highschool and College are normally the times when teens would experiment. Where they try to find themselves. So, you can’t just say she’s gay unless she come-out. When Fiona came out to her mom. It was very ‘REALISTIC’ I got a vibe Fiona was unsure about it, but still know she loves Holly J., Therefore she doesn’t know if she actually Lesbian. Who knows… I guess next season we’ll see what she gets herself into.

For me this was the best plot ever, this whole season so far!

Anya and Owen- Honestly… This plot was fantastic. Humorous and ‘REALISTIC’. I felt as if this was a set-up for a storyline to come. In addition to, the acting was great and believable. I feel like they’re actually trying to develope and show more of Owen; Anya as well is recieving more plots. This character is such a great character. She’s becoming so much more than just SAV’S GIRL. I’m really enjoying this girl. It doesn’t make any sense for you to say.

Quote: “It seemed like they just needed an excuse for Daniel Kelly being in the opening credits”

Why would that simple B, Possibly the C plot be their excuse. Have you forgotten he was a major character on the first half of the season. He’s not just some random character that just appeared out of nowhere. So you might want to re-watch the season for Episode One please and thank you.

Alli and “The Dance”- Seriously another dance. Ha-Ha-Ha! They ended almost everything with a dance this season. Well of course it was a set-up, but I ahven’t found this plot to be boring. I don’t understand why everyone keep saying that. I was entertained from Part One to Part Two. This was to show us how she is trying to make a difference; a turn around. The whole Alli Overload thing is rediculous, but then again. It seem like Alli is Degrassi’s Leading. Like Season Eight Holly J. was the Degrassi’s Leading. Where those particular characters are in almost every episode either making a comment or have a plot. It’s understandable why Alli has been in these past episodes. She’s been gone for like six episodes. So, they at least should show us how she’s been and somehow bring Alli back!

I believe this Season is great, and you all need to be greatful for what you get. Stop thinking every episode is crappy because it doesn’t go exactly how you wanted or expected. It’s not DTNG, it’s just DEGRASSI. The new cast and characters. Stop living and comparing things to the past; move on! Times and schools are changing. My opinion Overall is this Season isn’t a let down, a downfall, a rediculous season, but this season is a Fantastic Season. They touched on a lot of teen issues and the WRITERS are doing an excellent job at including every character.

      Yours Truly, Dr. James

P.S.: I wasn’t trying to be harsh, but I just hate it when people take things for granted and don’t appreciate the writing; how it improved. I don’t understand what’t not realistic. Sometimes randomness happens, who knew Anya would be paired up with Owen? Who knew Holly J. and Sav would get together? Drew being in Math 10 wasn’t random. Considering we all knew he wasn’t smart; that’s the whole reason he got upset with Alli becasue he thought she was calling him dumb, when she done his assignment so he could go to the dance. Anywho, Thanks for your reading; And again. I didn’t mean to be harsh. Bye now!

I love how all of her storylines intertwine somehow. She's really become the leading lady of the season. I adore Fadam, but I like what the writers did about them. It was clever.

As for Anya: Eh, it was a decent second plot. Better than most second plots I guess. I give her some credit. As Kary said, it was simple but still entertaining.

Alli: Um…100% unnecessary filler plot. I love Alli but her comeback is just not entertaining as I wish it would be.

Drop the World: Way overhyped. It'll be like All Falls Down all over again. Eli and Clare are both great characters and I love them as a couple, but I hate the fandom. And I also hate how the writers manage to always give them problems. They're never happy anymore. If Eli actually does die, I will be shocked. Despite that it's way overhyped and will probably be a letdown, I'm looking forward to it to see how they will finally end these 48 episodes.

    1. Ugh I know. Like I was thinking All Falls Down would be the next Time Stands Still or Run This Town but it was just a big let down… I wish that they’d give some of the Eclare storylines to other characters. I mean I know their fan favorites and all, but I think the hole hoarding storyline would’ve been better suited for some character’s parent or something. Idk. But Clare is kind of growing on me… My best friend went through a relationship with her boyfriend that was like the one Clare and Eli are in. He was always like clingy and obsessed with her… They’ve broke up and I think her boyfriend is better but I dunno because we kept our distance from him because we were worried he’d do something drastic. But oh well.

  59. Hmmm…methinks that Fiona is a shoe-in for the winner of next year’s Degrassi March Madness favourite character contest. ;)

    Calling it now.

  60. I just wanted to say I loved this episode, and my gaydar was always telling me Fiona was a lesbian lol. I’m glad things ended with her and Adam, I mean I used to pair Fadam until I actually saw the episodes about them… Fiona was just using him, and I think the only reason I actually kind of liked them was because I wanted Adam to have a girlfriend. But ugh. I feel so bad with Fiona and her hole ‘I’m in love with Holly J!’ situation because I know how she feels. God I just want to give her a hug. Oh and I hate Owen. But everyone keeps saying the C plot didn’t have a purpose and all… But I think it was more than just ‘setting up for the dance’ like all of y’all was saying. I think it was trying to show us Alli and Drew getting closer.

  62. I can’t wait for Friday :) Im really curious to see what Eli is shooting with that shot gun. I just pray that there actually gonna bring the drama we’ve all been looking for in the finale that we didn’t get with all falls down. And btw anyone no what happen to fitz??? The last we saw of him was leaving clares house with father Greg. I hope that wasn’t the end of him cuz that wud be just shitty. He Eli and Clare had such good potential for an interesting love triangle. And I do love me some love triangle storylines lolz.

  63. This is random but does anyone else think it would be hella funny if Sam from Beat It last season was like an assistant to the CPR class or something? just to see how Owen would react..?

  64. i honestly thought this episode sucked and was boring just like almost every other episode from seasons 8-10

i’ll keep watching degrassi but unless they have some of the old cast guest star from time to time , it will keep being trash, it doesn’t seem realistic anymore :/

and i absolutely cannot stand ECLARE episodes -___-
they are usually 2 part episodes and nothing ever happens until the second episode so what is the point of me getting excited because eli is shooting a tree with julias pictures?

bring back the old and real degrassi :/

  65. If some of you dont stop worrying about the old cast! their characters have moved on. Ellies cllose to becoming some big time reporter, spin and emma are married, terri was long lost, mannys in hollywood, libertys in college seans in the armed forces, jimmy’s married to trina somewhere learning to walk again, paige is working in fashion, marcos somewhere….., JTs dead, alex is working out her issues (hopefully shes getting her life together), tobys somewhere……, you get my point. they had their time to shine and it would be pointless and random if they randomly popped in out of nowhere. I personally think this season has been really good. and another question. exactly how hasnt this season been realistic. i admit a few things are a bit farfetched, but they work because of what kind of characters they are (im lookin right at you eli). i just think your being biased is all…

    1. I agree some ppl need to let go of the past. Yes the old cast was here once and they were awsome but their gone. If u really can’t stand the new cast then the answer to that is as simple as just don’t watch it. I also find it very annoying how ppl think that an old character should come back once in a while. No! Just no. They have other things their working on now and degrassi is probably the last thing on their mind. If they really wanted to be on the show they wud have never left. Just face it their GONE, G-O-N-E GONE!

but i really do hope they have an old cast member pop up every once in a while like they did with marco and johnny

i miss paige so much :/
and i guess i didn’t word my other comment correctly i meant that to me the new degrassi is trash compared to the old (my opinion) but i still like the show

        -hope eli dies-

      2. The old cast has nothing to do with whether or not someone likes an episode. @josephmilan said he didn’t like this episode he thought it was boring. if it was paige instead of fiona it would still be the same episode
