Stephen Stohn tweeted he’s watched the final cuts of the next four Degrassi Minis. They’re supposed to be funny minis and he did confirm that Anya and a lot of Power Squad people will be in them. No word on when they’re set to air.

Ok so I know a lot of people were confused about the hint Stephen Stohn gave about Eli/Julia hint. His specific words were:
“In the picture of Julia that something strange happens to, Munro is in the picture as well.”
Then all of a sudden it clicked in my head to watch the video clip below of Eli and Clare in Still Fighting It:
I remember when the “This is where I killed my girlfriend” line was used in promos during The Boiling Point people went craaaaazy at the thought Eli was the one that killed Julia. Of course we all brushed it off because Eli ended up just saying Julia got hit by a car, but what if Eli was indeed driving the car that hit her? What if he was being literal about killing Julia?
I’m not saying it’s 100% confirmed by any stretch of the imagination, but paired with Stephen’s hint it does seem to make sense. I just wonder what everyone else thinks about this as the potential outcome to that hint since when people discussed it when Stephen initially said it people were either looking for a physical photograph of Eli/Julia, or were just confused in general.

ummmmm wow idk ehat to think of that.. i did brush off the comment of ‘this is where i killed my girlfriend’ and a lot of other people do too. but it does make sense that eli might have meant that he was the one driving the car the killed julia… i guess that we will ave to wait and find out when the season starts again

Except for the fact that Julia died in April of 2009, which was 2 years ago, and Eli would have been a freshman in high school and too young to drive.

Wait im confused now as to when Julia died in relation to the show’s timeline. Because if she died in April 2009, it’s two years ago in the real world, but I thought they were still in 2010 in Degrassi time.

They’re now in the 2010-2011 school year; more specifically, they’re now somewhere in the beginning of 2011 before Spring Break, so I’ll say around the beginning of February. Julia died in April 2009, which means it would have been the 2008-2009 school year, so Eli would have been a freshmen.
I’m not sure what the hint means but I’m going to re-watch most of season 10 and see if I pickup any other hints or subtleties. Haven’t found anything yet, except that Eli’s name when instant messaging Clare was eli-gold49: maybe 49 as in 4 for April & 9 for 2009, haha but yeah, as I’ve said, I really haven’t found anything.

i’d have to disagree with you Kary. I don’t think Eli literally killed Julia. The quote is just saying that although he didn’t physically kill her, Eli takes responsibilty for her death.
As to the picture. My thought is that the picture in the frame is folded. When you take the picture out of the frame you can unfold it and see Eli. Why that’s important I’m not going to bother with because I want to be surprised.

Well I think all shall be revealed this part of season 10! You know how it starts Februrary 11th right? Well the ending episode date shocked me.. its 4-22 so..? I guess we have to wait until April! 2 months and 2 weeks.. Not bad :)

OMG!!!!!!! dude get out of my head!!!! i have been thinking this since the boiling point! it would be a great twist. and honestly as much as i love Eclare.. i honestly think that they should break up. only because ALL their story lines are either about her parents divorce or the whole Julia thing.. and until they can have a serious conversation without mentioning Julia they need to go on a break.. besides which Eli is a whole year older than Clare and if she turns into Holly J to be with Eli when he graduates i will HATE her and i love her so i don’t want that to happen..

The only thing that concerns me about just saying that Eli blames himself is that we already know that. We’ve already seen him beat himself up emotionally over it a couple of times, so if they’re going to do it again I feel there’s gotta be more to it than just him blaming himself. But then again maybe not…since the last episode will air on the anniversary of Julia’s death at least we’ll get all the gritty details.

I think you’re onto something Kary! That would make complete sense, I mean Eli does tense up when he tells Clare that Julia got hit by a car; but I mean he was overall tense about the whole conversation. Then again would that thing about Eli being the one that hit Julia be true, I mean like wouldn’t he have gone to jail? Since he might’ve been the one that killed her, of course on accident.

Hey Kary- good prediction, but could you explain a little more in depth? I don’t really understand how Eli being in a picture with Julia has something to do with him killing her. Maybe I just interpreted it all wrong. The thing about Eli’s confession is “things got messy” ’cause i’ve always wondered what he meant by “messy”. Oh well, we all have our predictions!

I think that’s a very interesting prediction. Degrassi is fond of foreshadowing upcoming events and what not. Did anyone else notice, when we get a glimpse of Julia’s photo in Eli’s room, that there is a toy care or car toy playing piece next to the frame. It was so eerie.

Well, Kary, about the timeline? Let me help you out. Due to the retcon, Season 1 takes place from 2003-2004. Season 2-2004-2005. Season 3-2005-2006. Season 4-2006-2007. Season 5-2007-2008. Seasons 6/7-2008-2009 Seasons 8/9-2009-2010 the first 18 episodes of Season 10 take place in September 2010. Tears Dry On Their Own Part 1 takes place in the first few days of October, and Part 2 takes place on October 5th. I have no idea when Purple Pills takes place, but All Falls Down takes place right before Christmas break. They return two weeks later. It’s January 2011 from Don’t Let Me Get Me-Umbrella. Halo takes off in February, and Jenna is giving birth pretty soon. Ultimately, Season 10 ends in April 2011, and Season 11 picks up with a 4-Part Spring Break Special.

On the Eli/Julia front, I think it’s 100% possible. If you look at the picture of Julia in Umbrella Part 2, there’s a toy car placed right next to it. Now I don’t know about you, but if my girlfriend was killed in some freak accident caused by some random person, I sure wouldn’t be okay with putting a toy car right next to a picture of her.

to be honest i’m pretty sure Eli wasn’t the one who physically killed her accident or not. Just blames himself because she pretty much lived with him, so the fight made her take off on her bike with nowhere to go since she didn’t like her home life. So he blames himself for making her leave and wander around on her bike at night. But, as I’m mentally going crazy over this, i think I can be patient for one more month until i can watch them on my computer and figure out the truth.

What if the ‘bus’ belonged to Bullfrog’s radio station, and HE was the one who killed Julia… On purpose? What if Bullfrog is a serial murderer? It’s farfetched, but it’s definitely something to think about. Come to think of it, Degrassi hasn’t ever really focused on a legit serial murderer before. Rick was bullied to the point of helplessness, and Drake Lempke was just… A tad bit messed in the head.

I like eli but is it just me or does the guy kinda freak you out? He drives a hearst…its a car used for carrying dead corpses! And the toy car by the picture is so…scary. I dont know its just something about him.
Maybe he wanted to scare Julia but ended up hitting her by mistake? Or maybe he was so angry he just took off in a car, legal or not, and lost control. It would explain why he is so emotionally torn up and also why he takes the blame.

Okay. First @new-be truly, NONE of us know if his relationship with Julia was truly all about love. All we can take from it is that Eli misses her. But they could have fought a LOT. Something I’ve always wondered from the get-go… How did Eli even manage to get a hearse? I mean, think about it. What if…
Julia, Eli’s Dead Ex-Girlfriend, died because Eli has a controlling and jealous mind. ((Now we haven’t seen him control anyone. But he show a lot a jealousy.))

No mark or trace that they have anything to do with her death.

Yes, Ma’am… Eli was Jealous on All falls down; don’t you remember the time when Fitz made comments about Clare? Yes, Eli got jealous and tried to stop Clare from going to the dance with him. Also he was jealous when Clare ran off to talk to Fitz after Eli poisoned him. ((Now you couldn’t actually tell that ELi was Jealous or mad, but why was Eli walking the lonely halls when Fitz was after him with a knife. Yeah he was walking away his anger; jealousy.)) Eli being contolling; we haven’t seen him do anything Controlling with Clare because she doesn’t hang with guys, but he might’ve been controlling with Julia because of Guys! I don’t really know.

I can’t believe I never even considered that!! My mouth dropped when Eli said he killed his girlfriend, but I quickly recovered when he said that she was hit by a car. I just thought that they fought and she left the car and got hit. I had no idea he could have gotten so angry that he hit her with his car. Maybe the whole hoarding thing is just the guilt he’s feeling for hitting her. I read some of the posts, however, and it wouldn’t make sense if eli was a freshman, unless he was driving illegally. But I wish it were true b/c I’d kind of like the whole “criminally insane” character eli would have.

Fiona missed out on her date with Adam while working on legal stuff with Bobby. The two start dating and Fiona falls fast for Him. While making out She feels his boobs but doesnt say anything. Adam realises that Fiona knows he is a girl and discovers she is a lesbian and breaks up with her.
Those are 2 predictions that i have…I think Fiona has had a crush on Holly J for a while now. Being mean to her for a while and then becoming besties with her. Holly J has been great to her but i dont think She will return the feelings to Fiona,Although it is possible. Folly J anyone? It could be the new Palex! ;D

As for Fadam, I think that Fiona finds out about Adam being FTM and doesn’t say anything. Then she drinks to make herself forget that Adam’s FTM because she doesn’t want to admit to herself she’s a lesbian. Adam sees Fiona with Holly J and realizes Fiona’s a lesbian. Then he tells her she doesn’t want him she wants a girl and Fionas like but you are a girl and then they argue. I think Fiona tells Adam she loves him at the end of the arguement because maybe she wants it to appear like she’s dating a boy but she still thinks of it as dating a girl.

I think the scene in the Inn To Deep promo is Eli talking to JULIA. But that my be wrong to becuase Eli had Morty and when Julia died he was a freshman so… he couldn’t drive. Maybe Morty was Bullfrog’s car at one point in time? I don’t know… It’s just a thought.
AND the toy care beside Julia’s picture looks a tad like Morty… just it’s white. Plus, aren’t the SKULLS on Eli’s door a little creepy? Or is it Eli being Eli? Another thing I noticed was the sideways glance Eli gave Clare when he said “Got hit by a car”.

Okay. At first i glanced at your clip (i mean i alrerady seen the episode so i didnt really look at it) and i was like Naw. that didnt happen. he didnt mean it literally. He wouldnt be able to do that. but as i was scrolling back up something told me to watch it carefully this time. SO I DID. did you guys noticed he didnt look at Clare not once while telling the story. Did you noticed that eye shift when he said “got hit by a car”. THAT was really weird for Eli to do. So a light bulb went off in my head. ELI HAD SOMETHING MORE TO DO WITH THE DEATH THAN JUST ARGUING WITH JULIA. Then i got to digging deeper. I mean yes you would be devastated if your gf or bf just died after an argument. BUT COME’ON would it be as bad as Eli’s Case. Eli shut himself in his room and hid from the world. FOR WHAT? you wouldnt hide unless you are hiding something very important. Why did he leave his old school all of a sudden? If he wasn’t trying to get away. I love Eli and all. Hello, I’ve been reading your blog for awhile now and have never stopped to post. I noticed this one in particular because I had also thought a similar thing at one point. This is why I don’t think Eli literally killed Julia, even by accident: Eli is a junior, so he’s only had his license for a short time. He said his girlfriend had died a year prior to that particular winter where he was a junior. It wouldn’t have been legal for Eli to have been driving and there is no way Eli would have gotten his license the second he turned 16. She was also riding a bike that day, so even if Eli’s parents let him take the car or he stole it, she wouldn’t have ridden her bike.
Unless he took the car to go look for her and then hit her…but even THEN, he would still get into trouble for that. I’m talking big trouble, remember when Sean hit that man on the bike? I know it was a hit and run, but even if it wasn’t, Eli still would have gotten into trouble.

I just thought of something…remember back in the episode where eli told clare that he had a dead ex. well first, i personally think that he did kill julia. first of all, why would he say that he killed his girlfriend? i know that he feels like its his fault, but still. two, i think that he killed julia, because he said she “took off into the night on her bike, and got run over by a car.” i think that he was driving the car because he went out looking for her, and hit her by accident. and three, how would he know where she got hit exactly (back to the episode where he first told clare about julia) if he wasnt there?

I think the promos for in too deep are going to be misleading to the whole eli/clare situation. They’re probably leaving a big whole piece out to build up tension and have fans be all “oooh bad eli suffocating clare”. But they are both going through a lot and Eli doesn’t exactly seem stable in the first place. His girl friend died, he was obviously scarred for life from that bully, and he is a hoarder. The reason why he is “suffocating” clare is probably because he has no one else to go to. His parents seem nice, but they really haven’t done too much to help him. Plus his dad seems like a heavy drinker. The only other friend he really has is Adam, who is going through enough as it is. If Clare broke up with him, he would be devastated, hence the driving the hurst at night with the serial killer look on his face.

Eli’s reason for transferring to Degrassi is never mentioned. It’s kind of weird that he’d just show up mid school year (or was it the fall? i seem to remember it was after everyone else went back to school) with no explanation. And it’s not that he moved into the district or anything because it would take a longg time to hoard all of that stuff back in his room.
My prediction is that the bullying didn’t stop after he was nine, it carried on through high school and he made up Julia because he never had a friend/girlfriend, or even siblings to back him up. Then, he lead himself to believe she WAS real and it just caused even more problems. So then he “killed her”.
It’d also explain why he kept going at it with Fitz and why he keeps up with the “tough/emo guy persona”.
If that’s the case, he’s kind of a wackjob.

so i was doing a bit of research and came across something a bit creepy.
There’s this novel called THE SECRET YEAR and one of the protagonist’s name is Julia, who had a bf but was secretly dating another guy, Colt. One day she dies in a car accident and Colt feels as if he had something to do with her death. Even though he is trying to forget Julia, he cant get over his obsession with her. Eventually though, he does start to fall for another girl named Kirby.
I dunno, its weird but i thought id share it cause it sounds eerily familiar to eli/julia.

I love how many possibilities come with this mystery. Remember how Julia supposedly stayed with Eli because of her stepmother. Maybe Julia was abused by her stepmother and neglected by her father (in other words, he didn’t try to help her). Maybe because of this she killed herself by stepping out in front of a car (Eli’s car or his dad’s). Or maybe when they were fighting he reminded her of her stepmom and because of this she felt really lonely and sort of got back at him/killed herself by stepping in front of his car. I don’t know, I just wonder why her parents would allow her to stay at Eli’s house with no problem.

So I think Fitz is not really a christian now and he knows the truth about Eli and that is why he bullies him. Eli killed Julia, accidentally or not idk… but the sideways glance when taking clare to the place of her death was odd, not to mention he randomly came to degrassi. Fitz begins to date clare, and that is his way of pushing eli’s final button. Eli “loses it again” and he may kill himself by crashing his car, or hits Fitz. This in reference to the clip where they show him talking to clare who is telling him they are not ment to be together and he is saying yes we are; then he peels off.But hey is he saying “yes, we are…” to dead julia, and he tries to kill himself, or is he saying “yes, we are…” to clare and was creepily following fitz and is now trying to hit him with the car while fitz is leaving work. Because, eli knows fitz works at the dot now. And, eli needs to protect clare from the newly “christian” fitz.

Poop George…. Hey Katie okay so I was looking at the clip and after watching it a plethora of times, I realized that the look in Eli’s face when he said ” and she got hit by a car” he didn’t make any eye contact with clare and in that little glimpse when he said that, it looked like he was checking to see if she was buying the whole story… This led me to believe that Eli was lying about her getting hit by “a car” but instead she got hit by “his car”. He obviously was lying if he couldn’t even look her in the eye and say that. Also in the most recent episode, Eli states, “he kills Rachel. He cuts her throat, drink her blood, and forever they are one.” then the look on his face when he was walking with his arms around her, that was not a happy face. It looked like a face that was planning to do something to Clare… Lastly, maybe everyone in Eli’s family knows about how he killed Julia and are covering for him. Maybe thats why he had to move schools. or they were fighting about how he had to move schools so if Eli couldn’t have julia than no one could. So he hit her, not thinking about the aftershock. She left his hearse because she could’ve been outraged by the fact that he didn’t want to separate so she got out, he got mad, and he hit her. MAYBE! I think that’s pretty reasonable. Thats why he said, ” said somethings i shouldn’t have, it got messy”

What if the whole driving-with-his-eyes-closed thing was a flash back? Stephen Stohn (i think thats how you spell it) said it was going to be filled with flashbacks, so what if that happened the night Julia died? And he was talking on the phone with Julia when he said “You promised you’d never leave me” than he closes his eyes and hits her. Idk, it’s just a thought.

This is what I think will happen in the end: Clare tells Eli that she wants a break and Eli freaks out bc it’s so close to the anniversary of Julias death. All his emotions from when she died prolly come rushing back and he already feels bad enough bc Clare dumped him. I think at first he’s mad and the picture he shoots is the one of. Julia bc if she hadn’t ran off on her bike none of this wouldve happened afterwards he realizes what he did and freaks out and runs to the picture and pics it up and looks at it. Then he unfolds it and sees him in the picture to. (of course a bullet hole would be through his pic to) and then he gets idea (cuz he already pretty crazy now) that everything would be okay if he was with Julia again so he goes and gets in his car and just drives. Sometime in there Clare calls or he calls her and is like you ripped my heart out and prolly some other stuff I’m guessing in to a busy highway. And he does get into a car accident but it doesn’t kill him. Meanwhile Clare freaks and goes to elis house and his parents are walking out the door crying bc they just found out Eli was in a car accident. Clare goes with them to the hospital and sees Eli and realizes how much she loves him and wants to help him. Hes hurt bad, but lives and maybe in the next season she helps him deals with his injuries or something.

Well i for one, as a fan of degrassi thinks that eli did actually kill julia… of course by accident. maybe when he told clare “it got messy” he meant his room.. as in thats where the fight started since we know that julia practically lived there. and when she rode off on her bike. he knowing at times eli does think before doing.. note: AT TIMES. he asked his dad to take the car and go looking because he didnt want her to go back to her abusive and unreliable parents. his father was drunk and said yes :)

I don’t think Eli killed Julia.
He blamed himself because they got in a fight, (which he probably thought it was his fault since he’s bipolar and all)
The fight was the cause of Julia TO ride home on her bike.
Eli probably thought, if the fight NEVER wouldn’t happened, she wouldn’t NEVER rode her bike,she NEVER wouldn’t have got hit by a car.
And, one question..
In Still Fight It, When Eli tells Clare about Julia, he told her in Morty in the spot where her death took place.
What does that mean?
