Unfortunately it’s finally here….the FINAL episode of Degrassi in 2010. Halo, Part 1 was really good…all of the plots are similar, but at the same time different in their own right.
*Every central character’s acting (Jenna, Adam, Wesley) was great. Jessica Tyler is so far improved from the days of being ho hum about Jenna’s weight during The Boiling Point.
*It’s super sweet that Adam wants to recreate a NYC party for Fiona, though I’m still not sure how into him Fiona really is. EClare works great in a supporting role.
*Wesley has a wet dream during the middle of class? HAHAHAHAHAHAH…that is all. I already feel terrible for him though (almost to the point of tears) because he has a 0% chance with Anya.
*Jenna doesn’t stand a chance with Sav either…I just need SOMETHING to pan out as far as her and KC is concerned. I can’t be the only one that thinks it’s so freakin bizarre that she’s dealing with the pregnancy by herself, while KC is over here thinking “I like her, but I don’t want to be a father.” Their interaction is just so weird to me.
*On a random note, Jess is kinda cute, but with the whole braces/awkwardness going on she doesn’t seem like the kind of girl Drew would go for, given he’s gone after girls considered hot (Alli, Fiona). I guess he’s just a horndog in general.
I’ll be out of town this weekend, but hopefully I’ll have the review up sometime Sunday! So sad….what are we supposed to do for the next three months? :(

It seems like Degrassi is really getting into the “Finale” thing lately. This is like our third finale this year.
And this seems like a very planned and deliberate “mid-season” finale. Seems like they are more into cliffhangers now.
I’m excited for Halo part 2. And I’m sure we’ll probably have some fun minis in the meantime.

Alright guys the people who can honestly say that they have NOTHING to do while a TV show takes a 3 month break like they always do are being absolutely ridiculous. I personally am grateful for a little time apart. I’ve become a tad obsessed lately. With Degrassi, and TV in general. This way I can focus on my priorities: schoolwork, hopefully getting a part-time job, and spending time with family and friends. On the one hand, it’s belligerently obvious that SOMEONE dies in the finale, so we have about 3-5 months to brace ourselves for that. On the other hand, the airing schedule might go a little something like this: February 4th-When Love Takes Over February 11th/18th-The Way We Get By February 25th/March 4th-Jesus, Etc. March 11th/18th-Hide And Seek March 25th/April 1st-Chasing Pavements April 8th-Drop The World

Yeah, we’ve dealt with long breaks in between new degrassi episodes before, but since they spoiled us with the boiling point, it feels different now. it’s like feeding someone crack for months and then suddenly taking it away. you need to be weaned off that shit, which they tried to do for us- taking a break after the boiling point and going back to once a week was supposed to take us down from that high, but it just wasn’t enough..
I already graduated college, I have a full time job, I hate people, I can’t go out anyway because my money goes to bills and student loan payments, so yeah, give me my damned half hour of degrassi every week. I would be perfectly happy if degrassi became a fullblown soap opera. New episodes 5 days a week, no breaks. If you’re happy for the chance to go out, that’s cool, but don’t hate on those of us who would rather stay home watching teen drama- we are embarrassed enough, we don’t need fellow degrassi fans adding to the shame

Who said it’s hating? It’s just an opinion. And I’m sure we ALL want Degrassi to turn into a soap, but God knows when that’ll ever happen. And it really doesn’t matter how addicted you are to a show, I just think people should understand that being that emotionally attached to a show is unhealthy. The Boiling Point was a nice little thing to tie me over. I cried during Don’t Let Me Get Me and Love Lockdown Part 2, almost had a heart attack after Love Lockdown Part 1, was confused as all hell after Umbrella Part 1 and a bit undecided after Umbrella Part 2. Halo Part 1 was great, and it got me super excited for the fall finale, which airs in an hour and 58 minutes by the way!!! But it made me realize that I’d rather them come back in February than end in January and be off for 5 whole months. But whatevs. I think I speak for all of us when I say the fact that the cast begins shooting Season 11 in FOUR months is exciting enough in itself! And you can bet they’ll keep us occupied until then.

I like the fact that Wesley made the most of his situation. I’m not referring about the pills he ingested, but the fact that he set up Anya with Dr. Chris. She was all giddy when the doc waited up for her, him all smiling and everything. I like cold coffee as well. Anya saying that Wes will make a girl happy maybe foreshadowing something next year with Jess? Drew getting with her is sketchy because as earlier comments have noted, Drew is too horny for Jess. Jess kinda shy and stuff, she would mesh well with Wes I think, making that little couple peoples’ eyes go slot machine 777 and stuff.
That Fadam seen in the ’11 preview was steamy. Holly J walking in on them kissing, I do not know why Fiona would be so shocked.
Eli and Clare seem to be going strong; but WHAT AN ENTRANCE FITZ. Knocking on Clare’s door like that in the rain reminded me of Toby Maguire’s character in the movie Brothers. His brother in the movie falls for Natalie Portman and he comes home all shocked and everything. Fitz’s entrance isn’t that, but that intense look in his eye with the cut under his right eye. Yeah.

Why does Clare (or rather the costume department) insist on dressing her up like an old lady? I get that Clare’s not like other girls; old fashioned and no where near slutty. But why the Gran-wear? Can she not wear something cute and somewhat modern just once? Something that doesn’t make her look lumpy (for lack of a better word)? You’d think the “new clare” would extend to her party wear.

Thoughts about the episode (spoilers for the teennick promo, too!):
-The Wesley plot? Definitely the best! Wes turned out to be a total sweetheart. I want to marry that boy. <3 It was also freakin hilarious. I laughed my ass off the entire time. <3 I hope he and Anya continue to be friends, now that (as we see in the promos) he's helped her finally get the doctor.
-The Fiona x Adam subplot was cute, but barely there. I HATED how they ended on a cliffhanger. I was afraid for a minute she didn't show because she found out about his body – so I feel better after seeing that sexy promo kiss. <33 Now I'm thinking she didn't show because she panicked at the thought of going out with a guy so quickly after the last one hurt her so badly – or maybe she panicked because she found out that the court date is soon. Speaking of which, maybe that's why she turns back to "self-medicating." I think I saw Adam standing in front of her in one scene while she drinks…I hope he comes to her court date, and helps her get over this addiction. He's such a sweetheart, doing all that work for her. It broke my heart that she didn't show, though I'm sure she had good (or if not "good," understandable) reasons. Adam and Wes are the two biggest sweethearts of Degrassi! I love those two so fucking much <3
But now for the bad parts of the episode:
-HJ and Sav. Um, really, Degrassi? We're going to continue this "blame the victim for being raped!" storyline. You're crossing the line as it is. For once, this is one storyline I wish had been lost to the realm of discontinuity. Because they're FUCKING IT UP. If you don't want to say she was raped (which I don't agree with, but that's not the point here), at least admit that she was pressured to some degree, and stop acting like she happily jumped into bed with Declan, didn't try to stop him, AND regretted it the entire time. This terrible storyline is making me kind of hate Dolly J AND Savvy J. Good job, writers.
-Jenna x KC. I don't know why the writers are so desperate to make everyone love Kenna – but throwing in lines like, "Hey, you stole me, didn't you?" is NOT the way to do it. It just makes KC look like a complete douche, ESPECIALLY after he told Clare that Jenna was the cause of all his problems last season…AND then tried to get back with her. Also, "and this is why I love you!"? Um…Why? Because she likes to ruin good relationships and steal honest guys from people? That, um, sounds like a very sexy and admirable trait, KC! I'm glad you know how to pick them! I'm liking KC and Kenna less and less…KC is turning into Craig 2.0. I think I should just give up completely on him now. I thought I would love it when he completely turned around – but not with terrible, heartless lines like that. He's an asshole, the end.
But despite everything, I'm liking Jenna more and more. She did seem to feel bad for what she did, to both HJ AND Clare, which makes me think the things she said to HJ last episode were just said out of rage. If we see her apologize to Clare, I think I'll start to really adore her. I LOVED her idea to pretend to go into labor – I honestly didn't see it at all, and it was great. XD This episode actually made me ship her with Sav for real, which I don't think was the writers' intention. It's your fault for screwing up certain couples so much, writers. :P
Random other responses to the promo:
-I can't wait to see how Riley's mom takes everything…I hope well, though I fear she might not, since Marco's parents were so accepting and they're trying to give Riley different storylines. :( And is it me, or was that kiss super hot? It's probably just me, since we saw it for like .5 of a second. Maybe I'm just starved for some Ziley lovin', since it's been so long. I hope they're in the next episode!
-And speaking of hot kisses…How fucking hot is Fiona x Adam? I have rewatched that clip more and more times than I care to count.
-And it looks like Alli still hurting over everything…Poor girl. I hope she becomes able to forgive herself, since it seems like she feels that she isn't good enough/a bad person. I hope nothing else bad happens to her, though I expect something will. This is Degrassi, after all. :P
=Umm, why did the first clip look like something out a horror film? XD Ignoring how sexy Fitz looked, it was just bizarre to see him, soaking wet in the rain, standing on Clare's doorstep. But regardless, I hope his returning – and apparently seeking Clare's help – doesn't cause TOO much Eclare drama. I love them, but we've seen enough of their drama for awhile. I want more Fadam and Ziley, kthxbai. I also hope Fitz doesn't become a future love interest of Clare's. When she does date someone else (and, again, we know she will; Eclare may or may not be endship, but this is Degrassi. Couples can't date for long without a dramatic breakup), I hope it's someone outside of the "bad guy" group. Maybe someone like Adam (though I can't help blindly hoping Fadam is endship…I know, I know). I loved Klare and I love Eclare, but she can't go for the brooding, misunderstood guys forever. I especially can't ship Fitz x Clare (What are they called? Flare? XD) because he threatened to rape her. Even though he wasn't serious, I just can't ship a couple in which the guy threatens, in ANY manner, to rape the girl. I just can't. I'd like to see them become good friends, but not anymore than that.
-I lol'ed a lot at Drew at the ending. I'm glad he admitted it so readily! XD Is it bad that I want him and Adam to get high together? lmao probably…

That probably will happen because Bianca’s only importance is to torture the Torres brothers. She really likes picking on Adam so I can definitely see her regreting what she did and trying to ruin Fadam. Personally, I think it will be really interesting to have two girls into Adam (one who knows about Gracie and one who doesnt). It will add a good twist to the Fadam plot line. However, the 2011 promo pretty much showed Fadam forever, just saying.

Ha, and I remember that when the new episode titles were released, I suggested that “Chasing Pavements” was going to be about a runaway, and I got a ton of thumbs downs. With Alli’s runaway storyline, and what seems to be Fitz (maybe?) being hit by a car, doesn’t seem so farfetched!

I am a big a fan of Eclare as the next I really do love them, and I thought thier hammock scene was really cute but I completely thought it was kind of unecessary you know? Like I found myself thinking, why is this even in the script it is so random considering none of the plots REALLY involve them. I would have prefered to see more of Adam during that scene instead of them no matter how cute it was I just thought it really didnt fit and they only did it to make eclare fans happy

The wesley and anya thing. Oh gawd. That. Was. Hysterical . Him and anya are so sweet as friends and wesley man… hes such a nice kid. Such a nice kid. That whole issue with him er.. rising and now falling.. was just A material . Just cuz how they handled the situation. That is so awkward, im sure . He needs to read a little better but ah, anya handled herself very well. I love her and wesley in the limo, the best when jenna asks whats with the newspaper. "DONT ASK." Priceless.

Yeah, the promo for 20111 looked really intense. Not really excited for christmas anymore! DEGRASSI! Yeah… so I’m not going to make any predictions and just let pure suspense and surprise take over. Random thought, I just finished watching Beat part 1 from season 9 (don’t know why) and I’m pretty sure Riley calls Fitz by the name Holden in the locker room scene. I was like…what! If they had kept that name for me… his character would have reminded me of Holden in Catcher of the Rye, especially the whole standing in the rain, in front of Clare’s house. Yeah… I’m a nerd.

he called him holden because fitz made ajoke about fiona “not giving him the time” , which is a catcher in the rye reference. (yes, I remember that scene word for word because I am both a fitz and a j.d. salinger superfan haha)

I think that you’re wrong about Jessica Tyler. Personally, I believe she’s a shit actress and I can never take her seriously, especially in ’emotional’ scenes because her crying is faker than Joan River’s face.

I hate Jenna. I’d rather watch Drew’s mom. Why must they shove her down our throats. An episode that will have to hold us off until 2011 is one with a character I can’t bear to watch. Also, when did Holly J. and Sav become her concern. Gosh, I hope she dies in labor.

I sooo am confused, Adam and Fiona!!!! WhAT dont get me wrong Adam is sooooooo one of my fav characters but its a girl!! Like is Fiona into girls. I understand she is probably not aware that Adam is a female however I am sure by this time she will have known Adam is a girl!! I mean he has boobs and no penis (as she would have NOT felt when he was on top of her making out) but then again I could see Fiona as a lesbian for some reason or really not caring about Adam not being physically a guy because she has not had the best experience with guys. But also Adam is a sophmore and Fiona is the hottest SENIOR in Degrassi. I dont know its just odd to me. Any opinions on it, or justifications. I also wonder if HJ is going to look at Fiona differently.
On another note I am really happy that everyone has got someone, its cute! Oh and Dr. Cris is NOT attractive for the record Anya could so way better! and Dr. Cris is an unknown pedofile!

Also, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE SEXUALLY ATTRACTED TO SOMEONE’S GENDER IN ORDER TO FALL FOR THEM. I don’t know why this is so hard for people to understand. We saw the very same thing happen with Paige when she fell for Alex – no, she didn’t just “suddenly become a lesbian” (no, that CAN’T and DOESN’T happen -_-). She just fell for Alex’s personality; she loved her so much that she didn’t care about her body. When she broke up with Alex we saw her go back to guys because she didn’t like girls – she just liked Alex It IS possible, if you aren’t close-minded. Fiona also doesn’t seem very judgmental of people; she had no problems with Riley being gay, and I doubt she’d judge Adam because he was born in the wrong body. She might be hesitant for a while, but I’m sure she’ll realize she loves him for who he is, not for what’s under his clothes, and deal with it.

I suspect that Fiona is a lesbian. There have been hints since her first appearance.
1. Scoffing at Peter’s suggestion that the two of them would go out in JCGE.
2. Becoming defensive when Declan probed into her love life (he called Sebastien in France “a penpal at best”, meaning that there was NOTHING physical).
3. NOT wanting a physical relationship with Riley, or any boys for that matter.
4. Telling Riley that she would NOT let him be physical with her if she thought that he was STRAIGHT.
Among others, I’m sure. I think that Fiona’s relationship with Adam will be a stepping stone in her realization that she likes girls. I mean, really? There are NO boys at Degrassi that Fiona could date? No artsy rich guys she has networked with? I find that a little odd. Remember, she is into Adam because he’s NOT like other guys. It’s his sensitive, instinctually “feminine” tendencies that she’s attracted to (though she doesn’t know it yet). It’d be weird to have her suddenly decide to give dating girls a shot, so I think that once Adam’s secret is out, she’ll begin to question her attraction to boys.

Oh and also! In a recent interview at The Star Scoop, Annie Clark said that Fiona’s character will take “a little unexpected” turn at the end of season 10:
“Something happens at the end of the season where you really see who she is without all of the drama and the craziness she likes to put on top of things. I think that’s when you’ll really see Fiona.”

Nina, I like the way you think :) I am in complete agreeance with you…and to the commit before I understand that you can be attracted to a personality, but isnt sex what makes a relationship last longer, i mean I understand what you are saying because i have a few friends who are bi and they have explained it to me and i have even gone as far as explaining to others for them, however idk…i am just taken back a little. adam and fiona are my two favorite characters aside from hj, claire and alli but idk lol

Ugh! I feel like nothing happened in this episode but I guess I should have known better. Jenna did not give birth, Wesley didn’t get the girl (although I doubt he would’ve anyway) and there was no Fiona and Adam connection!! But I guess somethings happened like Holly J./Sav and KC/Jenna getting back together.

that ending kinda pissed me off. really, between the beginning and the end of this episode the only thing that changed is that kenna is reunited. the savvy j conflict wasnt very interesting to me, especially since it was so contained in the episode. wesley/anya was SUPER cute, and made me really happy (“the last time i was in a limo . . . you dont need to hear that story”), and the doctor chris storyline is intriguing, and kinda reminds me of ellie with jesse. nothing whatsoever really happened with fadam, and my biggest disappointment is the end of that storyline. when he was calling her in front of the building, i was fully expecting at any moment to get a shot of her in the condo freaking out or drinking like crazy. but instead, nothing. still, im ridiculously excited for them (and ziley, and anya/dr. chris, and alli running away, and fitz’s creepiness and clare kinda reminding me of liberty way back when in the car) next year.
