So I’ve decided to change up the whole review thing for Degrassi for Season 10. Instead of doing reviews for both Parts 1 and 2 of episodes, I’m now going to wait until Part 2 airs for each episode, then write one review which covers both parts. For Part 1 episodes I’ll still create a post like this one where everyone can still discuss the episode.
It was easy to do reviews for four episodes a week during The Boiling Point when I had nothing to do, but with my schedule these days (specifically not being around on Friday nights and sometimes the entire weekend) it’s craaazy. That and it’ll be interesting to watch the Parts back-to-back before reviewing them since they refuse to show them all as hour-long episodes. I’m fine with 30-minute episodes when the storylines are concluded in that timeframe, but it’s definitely getting annoying having to wait a week to see Part 2 (I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN!! arghhh).
I think Umbrella could make or break Eclare for me. With 4 episodes per week during The Boiling Point it felt like we were blowing through storylines left and right, so it didn’t feel like any one character or couple just purely dominated the show. But this will be the third and fourth episode in this half of Season 10 where Eclare has been one of the two main plots. I like Eclare (I actually like Clare more than the actual couple), but with Degrassi back to it’s old broadcast schedule this could mean bad news for the way Season 10 has been written so far…there’s bound to be some “Character Burnout” on the horizon. It’s something that’s happened for me in Seasons 4 (Craig), 6 (Semma, Paige), 7 (Marco), 8 (Mia) and 9 (Dolly J), where I didn’t necessarily hate the character(s), I just got tired of constantly seeing them at the forefront. I’d hate to see Eclare go that route as well.

Honestly, I think I can handle all the Eclare(I’ve never been this obsessed with a couple, on any show/book, EVER XD lol)…I love both the characters on their own, and I really REALLY hope that they stay together for the rest of the show. ECLARE FOREVER! XD But while I have full love for Eclare, I also really want to see what happens with Fiona and Adam(because you can’t like ECLARE without lovin’ the Mistfits…and Adam just kicks so much ass you can’t help but root for him!)…I can’t wait for Umbrella, and you better believe that when little fan-girly squeals pierce the skies, that’s me. XD lol (YES! First review! WOOT WOOT! :D)

Josh Wilson – Before The Morning, you guys should hear this song. It made me think of Clare and her problems. It’s gospel, but it’s an awesome song. And besides Clare is Christian so she could possibly understand. It can bring you to tears. I bet you may find it a great song even if you’re no christian.

Yea, I’m hoping that this is the last Eclare main plot for a while. I like them as a couple and characters, but eventually I will get tired of seeing them all the time. But I’m really excited hopefully for Fadam. I just think that Fionna and Adam would be better as a couple then Drew and Fionna. Anyways, I can’t wait till this episode airs tonight!

Personally I’m getting tired of seeing EClare ALL THE TIME. I like Eli’s character and I like Clare’s character all though I think she’s trying a bit too hard to grasp at the only straws she has left. I mean, asking Eli to “spend the night”? I don’t see Clare saying that, with or without her parents’ divorce. Them as a couple…it feels too much in my face too soon. Granted, you could tell from a distance that they would be paired together, it’s the cliche good girl falls for dark/mysterious by plot. However, I dislike how the writers think that all ANYONE wants to see are those two.
Here are my thoughts for the Adam/Fiona/Drew thing. Fiona plainly says she’s not looking for a serious or a physical relationship. However, we also see that Drew and Adam both like her. 1) I don’t like the idea of pitting Drew and Adam against each other. They’ve shown how close the two brothers are and pitting them against each other for a girl is…Drew-like, not Adam-like. Now, I think the only thing that will come of the whole Torres Triangle thing is that Fiona will bring out the best in them. Drew starts dressing nicer to impress her and I bet he also tries at school to impress her. True, there is a scene that shows that he yells at Adam that he’s not a boy but I bet this leads to Drew’s “softer side” that Luke Bilyk said that you’d see in Drew later on. For Adam, I’ll bet Fiona helps him full accept who he is (not that he didn’t before) but I’ll bet she’s the one who makes (or helps) him be able to go through with telling their Grams who he really is. Drew and Adam would fight either over her or the fact that Drew said that Adam wasn’t a girl but, ultimately, it would bring them closer and I don’t think that they would let Fiona ruin that.

I agree with Kary! I like Eli and Clare, but not every single episode, especially in a row. Remember how everyone loved them as a couple because they had chemistry before they started dating and they weren’t rushed, forced or randomly put into a couple like everyone else was. Well now personally I feel like all that is being ruined by bombarding us with them. When Eli was first mentioned wasn’t he supposed to be an an interesting, different, awesome, etc. (can’t think of the word) character? I feel like they haven’t done anything with his character besides pair him up with Clare, and have him fight with Fitz.

They’re not in every single episode. They were the B-plot in the last two, and they are the A-plot in the next two. That’s not really a lot. It just feels that way because the episodes are more spaced out now. To be honest, we probably won’t be seeing them again for some time, considering there are other characters we haven’t even seen yet, and other characters that need a chance to develop. They’re probably showing two Eclare plots in a row because we’re not going to see either of them again for a while, but that’s just what I think.
Now that they’re together, there won’t be as much of them until there starts to be more problems in their relationship IMO. We actually saw more of them in the last half of the season. But nobody complained because it went by so fast, and because they hadn’t gotten together yet.
The reason they probably haven’t done anything with Eli yet is because he’s still a new character, so they’re most likely not going to want to pull out all of the interesting stuff right away. I feel like they’re saving some of it.

It doesn’t matter whether they were A plots or B plots. Idk how you can say that they haven’t been in it a lot! (I mean I’m not complaning at all, it’s just starting to be too much but..) Clare has still been in 4/4 episodes (6/6) and Eli has still been in 2/4 (4/6). 6 episodes into the season and you haven’t even seen half of the cast is just. I agree 100% though that the episodes are more spaced out which makes it worse for having a bunch of Clare+Eli plots in a row. 4 episodes is a month. So you have a month of their character stories. Instead of splitting it up a litlte bit.
Just because they are together doesn’t mean they can’t have stories separately. And if they start having their own storylines that deal with relationship problems, that still deals with each other. Oh and they were in more episodes in the last half of the season? I agree lmfao duhh. We’ve only had 4 episodes so far. But you say that they were in the last half of the season more even though they basically had B plots?
And yea they may be saving Eli’s interesting stuff for later, which I would rather have, but the crew and the cast were saying stuff that he was such an interesting character, ‘their favorite’ and how ‘they’ve never had a character like him before’.They were saying that stuff before any of this was even written and he still hasn’t had anything extreme, you know what I mean? I like his character but what makes him so different and amazing? Nothing…yet!

@ Matt: What I meant, is that in proportion to the entirety of the next half of the season, 4 episodes out of 19 (I think that’s how many there’ll be?) isn’t a lot. Well, it’s a good amount, but not “OMG THEY’RE IN EVERY EPISODE”. I know right now it might seem like it, considering we’ve only had six episodes so far and I know they’ll probably have more than four eventually, but I’m sure in-between now and then, some of the other characters will have their fair share of screen time.
When I said we won’t see much of them until they start having relatioinship problems, I was just talking about their couple/pairing. As in, we won’t be seeing Eclare again for a little while until they start to have relationship problems, because that’s the only time a couple is ever focused on in an episode (of course). And I know that they can have separate plots. I’m sure they’ll get their separate plots eventually. It’s just that my theory is that the reason they’re showing so much of them in the beginning is because they might not be showing either of them again for some time, that’s all. I just think that them having separate plots without one another is also going to take a while. I’d like to see more of Eli’s character on his own, since he’s supposed to be more interesting than what we’ve got so far, but I don’t know when that’ll happen. I think they’ll probably deal with Fitz coming back first before they move on to other stuff with Eli. I don’t know why. It’s just a hunch.
I know they only had B-plots in the last half. As a matter of fact, I think they had two of those B-plots focused soley on their relationship…then Eclare were in some other plots together in the background, like the Eli vs. Fitz one and the Adam A-plot one…and obviously, there was the finale…. and there are probably a bunch I’m not thinking of. And I know that there was at least one point we’re they were in four in a row before, in some form or another. Or at least, I think there was?
My point was just that I didn’t understand why people were so upset about it just now, when they’ve had a lot of screen-time before now. The only thing I could come up with is that people don’t care as much because they’re together now, so there’s no more “will they, won’t they” (even though everyone knew they would) anymore, so they’re getting sick of it easier, or it’s because it just felt like it went by faster in the summer, so people didn’t notice…

This may be me over-analyzing, but did anyone notice the way that Eli jerked his hands back from Clare when she took them in front of his house? I will have to re-watch the episode when they post it on Teennick, but did anyone get the impression he was hiding something from her? Also, the sketchy behavior when his locker opened. I wondered if everyone thought what I was thinking- that he had cut scars there, or some kind of self-harm injury that he didn’t want her to see (hence why he wears the black bands on his wrists). Maybe he has been suicidal/depressive in the past? Maybe he is mentally ill and was hiding the evidence of it in his locker and didn’t want Clare to see? I know Degrassi did mental illness already with Craig and suicide/cutting with Darcy/Ellie, but they could be re-touching this storyline again with Eli. Does anyone have any speculations as to what he’s hiding?

I noticed that too. It could just be, when he pulled his hands away, that he was just trying to show her he was upset, like “Don’t touch me right now; I’m upset with you.”
I’ve seen, in other places, that people are speculating that Eli’s a hoarder. That would explain all the stuff in his locker. But I don’t know. Personally, I would like that as opposed to another self-harm plot. Eli doesn’t really seem like a person who cuts himself. He doesn’t really strike me as just simply depressed.

eli is a hauder. when julia died his brain jot messed up and now he can never throw anything out because hes afraid that he will be loseing himself. thats why his locker was such a mess. in one of the promos clare and adam open elis door {witch as a lock on it and they bust it open} hes its probebly a pig sty in there! and when he says ‘i think im gonna die’ its probebly because he actually still feels pain over his loss of julia and hes keeping all his emotions inside…. i really hope he turns out ok!

Eli was good tonight. He clearly understands Clare is pressuring herself to move the relationship further than it should be & he knows she’d immediately regret having sex so I’m glad that he declined her knowing how both of them would feel
I never once got the feeling that Eli wanted to have sex this early. His comment to have at the restaurant seemed to me like he was saying “yea, sex would be nice, but caring about your feelings is nicer”. Him choosing to do what she wants sex wise is mature. It’s clear that Clare wants to save herself, which although isn’t necessary, is definitely worth respect
Clare soon is going to realize that she’s not thinking clearly right now & her original thoughts were right. She has too much common sense to continue to think this way. Eli being the mature one in the relationship is refreshing. We’re seeing a different side of both Eli & Clare. Eli showing how much he cares about Clare’s feeling is nice & Clare over reacting to her parents situation that is out of her control is interesting as well. A nice part 1

Clare came off as insanely immature tonight. It’s normal for a child of any age — even an adult — to be upset when his/her parents divorce, but her demanding that they work around HER needs and swap out living at the house was ridiculous. If the child is very young, parents may do that to minimize disruption and trauma caused by the divorce. Clare is what, 16? Girl needs to grow up. She may be upset, but she just came off as unbelievably immature here. She’s going off to college in like, two years. It’s hard to move out of your childhood home, but everyone has to do it eventually. Grow up, Clare.
And Eli was, I think, just being a teenage boy. Sure he was sending mixed messages — but really, that was the only way for it to be written. If he were some saint who didn’t want to sleep with Clare, it would be completely unrealistic. If he had no reservations whatsoever about having sex, even though he realized that she was only propositioning him because she was so upset about her parents, he’d come off as a jerk. I’m not usually a big Eli fan, but I didn’t mind him tonight. I thought the way he was written was very realistic.
Also, I loved that Darcy got a mention. It’s about time.

I think it’s normal for her to be upset that her parents are getting divorced, and to feel like they’re forgetting about her. But I think it’s selfish and immature for her to expect them to build their entire lives around making her comfortable, considering her age. At 16, she should be mature enough to understand that their divorce is not about her and that they have reasons beyond the practical for wanting to move out of the family home. She has every right to be upset, and it’s realistic for her to act out, but she’s old enough that she really shouldn’t actually expect her parents to coddle her and make such drastic and self-sacrificing arrangements just to make her comfortable.

@Mary it’s selfish, but she didn’t mean to come off that way. it’s obvious that she wanted to keep at least some part of her life. and that’s exactly what everything she did was about. she didn’t expect her parents to ‘coddle’ her, she was just overly determined to keep part of her life the same when everything else was changing. also, eli gave her that idea, and she just wanted to believe that it would work out. when you’re that upset/desperate, sometimes your mind will make you think that your crazy ideas will happen.

I guess it was obvious to me when Eli talked about his “friend growing up” that his friend was very young at the time, and that’s why his parents were so willing to do it — Clare probably just jumped on the idea because it would be the best possible solution for her, without thinking about the circumstances. I don’t know, I still think it was immature for her to bring it up, but I get that she probably isn’t exactly thinking clearly at this point. I just think she’s a little too old to realistically be making suggestions like that and expecting that her parents will go for it. IMO, her propositioning Eli, or even her behaving like a “bad girl” in the previous episode to give her parents something to agree on, was a much more realistic reaction for someone her age who is having a problem like this.

clare was raised to beleave devorce was someting shed never EVER see between her parents because they were against it cause theyre religion. so her world is tilted prolly a little more off than most kids goin thru devrce & notice he word i used, KID, she is still a child. even being an adult & hearing ur family is breaking up is a punch to the gut. sure some of the things goin on with the plot are a little not the norm. but unrealistic is not the word for it.

Actually, Clare was pretty realistic. Statistically, it’s proven that divorce is MUCH more difficult on teens than on younger children. My parents divorced shortly after my eighteenth birthday, and I went crazy. I was drunk every night, acted out of line, had boys spend the night, spent the night out without telling my parents. Essentially, I acted a lot more selfish and immature than Clare. Oh, and my parents shared a house for another three months to disrupt me as little as possible before I went to college. So really, nothing was that unrealistic about the way Clare is acting. She’s acting like someone who’s life was just ripped apart. Her entire center is gone. When you think about it that way, wouldn’t you try to hold onto anything you could, a house, a relationship, too?

THE RETURN OF FRIENDSHIP CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!! eli so utterly reminded me of season 5 spinner in that scene. it was odd tho, suddenly darcy got mentioned/alluded to so many times, and we hadn’t heard anything about her since alli borrowed her power squad uniform. there was “you’re splitting up and darcy’s gone, the house is all i have,”
“thats what darcy said when she wanted to go to africa,” the whole skiing picture thing (i swear that picture [darcy, at least, since the picture was probably edited together to show the three of them] was taken in “Standing in the Dark”!), and friendship club’s existence, which is a darcy reference as far as i’m concerned.
drew and adam’s relationship just makes me laugh so hard. its obvious that drew’s okay with adam, but i love how he’s constantly making little funny jibes. back in mbiac, he said “you took less time in the bathroom when you were a girl,” and now there was the thing of, “what do you know about girls, anyway?” for some reason, that line totally cracked me up. (unfortunately, i know those jibes are gonna get a lot meaner next week.)
and one last thing (sorry for the length of this post): i suddenly remembered that way back in season 9 when dave . . . um . . . poured stuff on bruce’s locker and bruce was chasing him and dave was running away, dave looked back and yelled, “my dad’s a cop!”
and one more last thing (sorry again): i feel like the whole dave/wesley storyline is a carbon copy of the dave/connor storyline last season where connor wasnt good at basketball but was keeping the stats. literally, i feel like this is the exact same storyline. there isnt even the benefit of it being several seasons later, like we’ve had before. dude, ITS THE SAME STORYLINE IN TWO SUCCESSIVE SEASONS WITH THE SAME CHARACTER!

I agree and disagree. He did go too far, but it wasn’t until Fitz implied he was going to rape her that he decided to do anything – and at that point he was obviously desperate with rage and wanting to save her from the trauma of being raped. Before Fitz said that he was willing to let her go with him.

-SO happy darcy got a mention. i got way too excited for that. it would be really cool if she came back on the show, but i have a feeling it’s not happening..
– I think Eli was reasonable tonight.. i’m kind of mixed on his actions but he obviously had good intentions. the only way he could have been better is if he expained to clare that he really knew that they weren’t ready and not just freaked out and said he was taking her home. clare was definitely being irrational and like someone else said, it’s refreshing to see eli being the mature one in the realtionship.
– Dave irks me. it may be ust because he seems like a cheap rip-off of JT, but he seems to go hot and cold. in season 9, he was the sweet guy who had a cute crush on alli, and in the boiling point we saw him being the jokester, but he also abandoned connor and wesley (at different times) for basketball guys. come to think of it, JT abandoned toby for jimmy and some other guys in one episode, but he got through it. dave just doesn’t have JT’s charm that makes you like him even when he messes up.
-not related to tonight’s episode, but do you guys think declan is coming back? apparently he is going to work on another show, but does anyone know if he will finish at least this season before leaving? or was going to new york his final send-off?

I’m kind of bummed because of all the Clare/Eli strife in these last episodes about Clare’s family issues. Not because I’m a huge fan of the pairing or anything, but I’d like to see a plot about the divorce issue with Clare that didn’t also throw in the strain on Eli and Clare’s relationship. I know divorce can affect those kinds of things too, but I feel like her fights with Eli are distracting from the big picture.
Why can’t Degrassi have plots that don’t involve some kind of romantic strife? I wanted an episode of Clare having problems with her parents, and Eli to just show up at the end of the episode to hold her hand.
But instead you just get a clusterfuck of drama and are constantly distracted.

He definitely seemed like something was up. He had a strange look on his face like he expected Clare to say something about it. I’m not sure if anyone noticed this, but why does Eli open the door like a second after Clare knocks on his door. I’ve noticed this twice. In an earlier episode after their first kiss and Umbrella part 1. Is he just waiting for someone to ring the bell because wouldn’t a regular person come to the door after a few second or even minutes. I was just wondering, sorry if that was too random.

What irritated me is that they seem to rush the episodes so much. I didn’t see Eli follow Claire to the friendship club( clubs were cancelled right?) plus how dare Eli say something negative in that club, when he questions her morals. It seems like he is trying to protect her. Also it seems that Claire just wanted to find a comfortable place to stay, not to have sex with Eli. But a place without fighting an escape, Eli is prob thinking that she wants sex and is protecting her . Or he is hiding a Julia shrine or his parents may be messy or drug users. I know I almost never had people at my house because I had a alcoholic father. So I can understand if Eli was embarrased of his family. They are uncuth and they do not remotely resemble Eli. Ps westley for the win! They need more stories on him. Do you guys think that Dave is going to steal his dads gun and shoot Westly to. Proove he is not a narc? Just a thought .

First of all, I freaking loved this episode!
Aislinn did an awesome job, and everything to me in the episode flowed smoothly. I even surprised myself by even crying after watching some scenes. I couldn’t understand why it got to me, my parents aren’t divorced and I am not confused with my religious believes.
But then I reflected more on it and now I know what hit home for me. Due to bad economic times, my family lost our house, my childhood home where all sorts of memories where made. And most recent, my family has had to split up, my dad had to find work in a different state and I moved with him, but my mom stay back to take care of my pregnant sister. This is the first Thanksgiving and Christmas that we will not spend together :(. Coming from a life where you knew where home always was to not knowing where life will take you, is a very scary and intimadating feeling. Change always is.
Although what Clare is going through is not the same, I simpathize with her, I think most of us remember a time in high school where everything you believed in didn’t make sense anymore and feeling that the world was caving in on you. And IMO Clare did a perfect job protraying this.
Her life has always been black and white, and now she is being shown that it is not. And if Clare seems irrational to some, how can she not be. If I was in Clare’s shoes, I would have been 10 times worst.
I love how this is Clare’s plot not Eli’s, although he is involved in it.
IMO its one of the best plots in a while, although the start to it in Love Lockdown wasn’t so great, in Umbrella they redeemed themselves.
I don’t care who has been on what episode and how many plots each character has had. As long as they provide a good story is all that matters to me.

Wooow. First off all, you don’t know their sexualities. For all you know, they could be homo/bi/pan/whateversexual. Just because they’re actresses doesn’t make them straight. Second of all, THEY’RE ACTRESSES. Kissing girls for TV is no different than them kissing guys for TV – because they wouldn’t have feelings for the guys EITHER. Look at Argiris and Shannon – not only are they both straight, but they’re also BEST FRIENDS in real life. Obviously they have no real feelings for each other. BUT THEY CLEARLY AREN’T AFRAID TO KISS EACH OTHER ON CAMERA. Thirdly, Jordan said in an interview that when she auditioned for Adam, she thought she was auditioning for a lesbian. So she, at least, had to have known that she would likely be kissing a girl somewhere along the line. While Annie wasn’t auditioning for a lesbian, she seems pretty open minded and probably doesn’t care. Try not to be so close-minded, kay, hun? And speaking of “hun”…Remember Alex and Paige? Yeah.

It was Eli’s GIRLFRIEND. Obviously he loved her, and they had a sexual relationship. Getting over a death, especially when you are a teenager and it was someone you were in a relationship with, can take years.
How would you deal with that situation? I highly doubt you would say, “oh he/she is dead now, so why don’t I just jump into a whole new relationship and forget about that other person”

Okay, to start this off, I am so glad that Darcy FINALLY got a mention. I think that the way they wrote her off in season 8 was ridiculous. Didn’t they say that she was only going to Africa for a few months? And wasn’t that picture of Clare, Darcy, and their dad taken during Standing in the Dark, Part 1? I wish they would bring her back for one episode this season to see what she would do about the divorce. I would love to see her have a mental break down and go right back to Africa. That would be amazing.
Now, back to the episode. Unlike most, I am a huge fan of Eli. I feel like he really believes in Clare and only wants the best for her. I hated how he kept going at Fitz during the Boiling Point, but now that that’s over, we can focus on who he really is and what he’s really like. There’s definatley something going on in his head. I’d like to believe that he’s depressed over Julia, or he just can’t let her go, but I honestly don’t think that’s it. Although, I do believe we will be hearing more about her in the future. -Side Note: I thought his acting in the steak house scene was phenomenal. You could tell that it was hard for him talking about Julia, and that as much as he wanted to have sex with Clare, he wasn’t ever going to pressure her. I also felt really bad for him when Clare kept going on and on about how they were too different. Great job, Munro.- I read above that someone thought he would be a hoarder. I can really see that happening. Or maybe he’s ashamed of letting Clare see his room because he still has thing’s of Julias. I don’t know…We will see.
Why does everyone feel bad for Clare at the end of the episode? Obviously Eli wasn’t in the mood to play these games with Clare about her sleeping over. He doesn’t want things to lead to sex and ruin everything between them. And I didn’t really think her acting was that good in this episode. It’s sad to say, but I’m getting sick of her parent’s story line. Enough already, let’s see what’s up with Eli!
The Dave story line was funny. I thought Spencer did an awesome job as Wesley. Great job. Also, the Fiona, Drew, Adam story line seemed a bit pointless, except for the fact that Adam is really stepping out as a guy. I hope it picks up a bit more in the future episode.
Overall, I liked this episode and I can’t wait to see what’s wrong with Eli. Something’s messed up in his mind…

Okay, but in All Falls down Part 1 he and Clare finally become a couple in front of his locker (And the door is open). This is what confuses me, this is the first time that we see Eli ashamed of his locker. Okay, this episode sort of disappointed me.
Clare messed up, big time, AGAIN. And why wasn’t Eli still mad about her dressing up and such? They didn’t even mention that again, which seemed unrealistic. And Clare, I don’t know, she seems a big obsessive to me. Yeah, Eli is like all she has left blahblahblah, but this is like the 6th time she’s been rejected by him. Yeah, he did the right thing but not taking advantage of her and telling her to go home, but I am so sick of him rejecting her so rudely and then not chasing after her or something. He just lets her walk away, pissed off at him and sits there like “oh wellz.” In my point of view, that’s not being a good boyfriend.
And I was hoping the Adam/Fiona thing would get a little farther in this episode. Like, nothing happened except they got to know each other. Yeah, it’s a set up for next week’s episode but this week’s kind of bored me. Oh, and Drew is annoying. :/
I have to say I liked the Wesley/Dave plot the most. Wesley finally gets a backbone! I’m so sick of Dave trying to get popular though. Embrace your loser-ness Dave, you aren’t going to get popular by being a jerk.

I have to agree with Kary… I love Eclare Buuuut…. I think they are doing too many things with them. This will now be the 4th episode that they are the main plot of in a row and although I thought all the episodes have been amazing so far… I am getting kind of tired of seeing them ALL THE TIME. I wanna see more of the other characters.

Alli got a lot of coverage in Boiling Point due to her being on another show for the second half of the season. And while Clare hasn’t had any A plots yet this season she’s gotten her fair share of B plots (as well as standard showings in Eli, Adam, and Alli plots).
I think the problem is, mostly, that all Clare plots boil down to EClare instead of being… well, about Clare. Eli’s had a few plots this season with minimal Clare involvement. Clare can’t seem to have a plot to herself. It’d be nice if Clare got advice/help from people other than Eli during the one plot about her (and just about her). Sadly with Adam in a B-plot right now the closest people Clare has to… advice buddies are Jenna, Holly J, and the Tennors.
I do agree the complaints about all Clare all the time seem to just be ‘she got four episodes in a row.’ When that has happened before during Boiling Point. Just nobody noticed because we got instant gratification.

I hate how Julia ends up in a lot of coversations when Eli and Clare are talking about their relationship. I know if i was Clare I would’ve been uncomfortable if he was talkin bout how julia would spend the night a lot. Clare must’ve been hurt by that. Eli just needs to learn to let go. And i found it funny how Eli’s like “you know julia?..” and Clare’s like “Your old girlfriend!” haha. that was funny. but, seriously Eli needs to concentrate more on Clare instead of Julia.

I have never really been a big Eclare fan, but I really liked their parts in Love Lockdown and Umbrella. Although I think that they need to give other characters a turn. Darcy should have come back it episode it would have made it so much better.
I really love Fiona and Adam they seem like such a better couple than Drew and Fiona.

Ok…like everyone else has said I have never been so into a Degrassi couple like I am with EClare! But Clare was very…VERY annoying in these past episodes. All this running around crying and trying to act like a badass was just annoying! I’m surprised that Eli is still around. I hope in the next episode she realizes that the parents are separating and there’s nothing she can really do about. Before the boiling point came out and every one was discussing that promo shark in the water I predicted Adam and Fiona! haha It’s cute how he calls her princess. I think they might actually make them a couple. Because to fully grasp Adam and what his character stands for they gotta show what relationship for him or some one like him might be like, and the difficulties that would go along with it. Like thinking of it really.. The first couple comments at the top that were debating over Adam wanting a physical/sexual relationship, I think when Fiona told him that he was relieved because he likes her and was asking for Drew so of course he wouldnt want Drew doing anything with her. And judging on the promo for part 2 when Drew says “How can she be interested in a guy like you?” means Fiona likes him back. I dont think Adam would mind anything sexual, like if he were doing it to her. BUT I highly doubt he would want anything sexual done to him because Adam has the womanly parts. And since he believes that he really is a guy he wouldnt be turned on by any forplay with his Va J-J. It would more than likely be very awkward for him and he would hate it.
Now Eli and Claire, I read a comment up there about Claire normally wouldnt throw herself at Eli like that saying “Iwanna spend the night with you.” And no, normally she wouldnt, and yes that is completely out of her character. But I think it works here. She’s making a transformation, her family is in shambles everything they taught her she is questioning including her faith. Shes mad at god, shesaid “If Jesus loved me so much why would he want me to go through this?” So I could see her breaking her abstinence as a sort of revenge or out of spite. Also something her mom said triggered her running out the door to Eli’s “I just wish I wasnt so afraid of taking a risk back then, oh well too late for regrets now right” Claire was worried that like her parents, her and Eli were too different to last. And we all know Claire was never much of a risk taker, so I think she also did out of being desperate for their relationship to work, she thought that maybe if she took a risk for him like one as big as having sex with him that maybe they would be together longer. Eli says no because he can tell that shes not thinking rationally, I think part of him wanted to say yes and i think another reason for him saying no is that he is a hoarder and his room/house must be a disaster or something. in the promo for part 2 hes digging through the garbage in an outrage looking for something and in part 1 we all seen his locker. I think thats why hes having a nervous breakdown in the promo. Could be wrong though.

If someone can find a way to magically expand days to more than 24 hours then I’d have more time to do things for this site. It’s not like the old days when I had the ability to spend every waking moment of my free time here, or to spend hours and hours working on a review or to simply do degrassi-related things. It’s Monday, and I still haven’t even had time to sit down watch Umbrella Pt. 1 yet. :-/

I agree with you rachel, people could be a little kinder when explaining stuff to people. You can inform people of the facts without being rude about it, its good to give your opinion, but there is such a thing as being too opinionated.
On that note, Although airing schedules are different every year, for the most part they follow a similiar format. The average episodes is 24, and they air through out the year, with the season ending at the start of summer, in order to stretch out those episodes through out the year, they do have long hiatuses where they don’t air new episodes for awhile. There could be several hiatus through out the season. So them just airing 8 episodes sounds normal. You also have to remember, in season 10 all the episodes have part 1s and part 2s, so although 8 episodes will air in total, it actually feels more like 4 since we have to wait for part 2 for the conclusion. So it gives the impression the we are getting less episodes then normal.
And for the record, I have been watching degrassi since 2001, I was around 12 or 13 so I think that gives me some credibility.

The actress left the show because she got a part on 90210, which is taped in LA i believe. I mean in a way it could be a very possibility that she could have a guest apperance, but the way I look at is that she doesn’t work for degrassi anymore.
What is sad is that by being in 90210, she has become famous by default, (I don’t understand how a show like 90210 could have more recognitions then Degrassi, I wish Degrassi was on public television so it could get a bigger audience) so she probably has a very busy schedule, so I think the chances of her making an apperance are very slim…

you know what? i DO think eclare has gotten a lot less interesting than it was. i’m not the sort of person who is interested in seeing teenage romance and whether characters are “meant to be,” but i appreciate well-written character interactions, and i was therefore very much in favor of eclare. at the start, eli was constantly snarky or silly or creepy, and he was so interesting to watch every time he was on screen. i feel like a lot of that has dwindled.
also, so far i don’t like how they’re handling the julia thing because it just seems kind of, well, boring. i am actually hoping it is explored more and that eli’s freakout is related to it, because otherwise, the julia plot hasn’t done anything other than making eli hesitant to date clare (although he did anyway) and making clare insecure.
or maybe the truth is i’m most interested in eli when he’s fighting with fitz….

Yeah, it sounds a little similar with the whole religion thing. Except, Sav’s parents didn’t want him with Anya at all because he is in an arranged marriage. Clare’s parents don’t seem like they mind that she is with Eli. The only thing they believe is that you shouldn’t have sex outside of marriage and it doesn’t look like Eli is going to pressure her to have sex. Eli and Clare are fighting more now because she is stressed out with her parents divorcing. I think their fighting is mostly due to Clare questioning her beliefs now that her parent’s have decided to break their vows to each other and make all these changes (moving, not living in the same house as both her parents, etc.).

If she has her baby now, it will be a preemie. Premature babies can have all kinds of health problems. I don’t think they’ve ever dealt with a pregnancy resulting in an unhealthy child. (We don’t know what happened with Bella before she was 2, and we only assume Liberty’s son was healthy after the adoption. Also, she had her baby toward the end of the year, and was three months along at the beginning of the year, so I assume he was born full-term.)

so tomorrows ep with clare& eli: eli drops his papers, clare tells him to calm down, he can’t believe it? then we know clare and adam go into his room and are surprised, and in general clare wants to sleep with eli. & he tells her he rejected her bcuz he cared about her but clare thinks hes lying and he isn’t over julia so she asks for her dad’s watch back (breakup?)
other scenes we have seen are: eli “i think i’m gonna die”, eli in morty while its raining, and adam/clare/eli leaving a fenced area (?)
also in tomorrows episode: ADAM VS. DREW! whoo will win? so we know drew tells adam jealousy’s a bitch, he asks if adam doesn’t think fiona will find out, but adam obvs still likes her and he.. throws her a party? ummm… also the C plot about dave shooting wes with a taser. yawn..
so for Halo (1+2) we still have to wrap up the Sav/Holly J/Declan thing AND the Jenna/Sav/Holly J thing! whew! and there is some jenna/KC scene, AND we need to finish anya/wesley’s date! action packeddd :)
