Degrassi has been nominated in several categories for this year’s Gemini awards. Charlotte, Landon, Stefan and Phil Earnshaw (Director) are all nominated, as well as the show itself. Even Melinda Shankar is nominated (though it’s not for Degrassi). CONGRATS TO ALL!!!!

MBIAC tackled two great ‘teen issues’ but the episode itself I wasn’t too crazy about. That’s just my opinion. I did not hate it at allll it just wasn’t one of my personal favorites but it definitely deserves to be nominated.

I think ‘My Body Is A Cage’ definitely deserves a lot of awards for actor, writer, director w.e for tackling the issue and portraying it very well but do you really think it’s the best episode? haha. I loved it but I don’t think it’s the best episode ever, it maybe close. Best episode of season 10 def. Oh and hahah @ the Jenna and HLM comment.

Do you live in Canada? I don’t but I’ve heard of them. Yes from this blog and twitter but I still know them. You spend most of if not all of your time commenting negative comments on this site. I’m on here every once in a while when I’m free. Do you have any friends? You should try going out instead of spending your life bored on the computer starting drama with people you don’t even know. Yea they’re not all that famous and professional actors but their mostly young, new and teens or young adults acting on a TV show about High School drama. For these teens to relate to HS drama theirs not much acting needed. To play a role completely different from what you are like the transgender storyline, or a dark storyline like rape yes acting is very important but to be a teen and play a teen on high school they don’t need to go ‘all out’ or act differently for a scene like relationships, sexuality, sports etc. When they or other teens go to their own schools (yea it’s not a TV show but it’s the same issues) they don’t act differently. Yes I’m not a fan of the acting from the actors who play Riley, Jessica and Sav (Riley the most by far) but they’re not doing anything bad? This isn’t CSI or Twilight where they have to act like cops or Vampires they’re acting like teens which they already are.
Sorry to rant and repeat myself and probably not make sense a lot of times!

hey this is a crazy idea and its kinda random but what if mrs. toress tells allis parents about what happened the night of the dance( well mrs toress thought that alli was about to have oral sex with drew so shed tell them that)and they send her away. It would explain why she was saying my life is over- like omg my parents found out about drew my life is over- and would be a setup as to why she leaves degrassi for a while but comes back since its confirmed that melinda is leaving.

To everyone here whose talking about the “I’m leaving Degrassi clip” :
First, Liberty isn’t on the show anymore and if she was she couldn’t be leaving Degrassi becasue she’s not in High School anymore she’s in college (use some common sense!) but like I said she’s not even on the show anymore haha.
Next, Idk how many times people have to comment saying Leia is officially not on the show anymore after ‘My Body is a Cage’ aired. Judy the actor who portrays her told us on twitter so stop with the speculations about things happening to Leia when shes been gone from the show for a long time already!
Lastly, I can’t say that it’s obvious who it is because I can be wrong but Melinda Shankar who plays Alli tweeted herself that she is leaving Degrassi for a period of time to film her other show but will be back. So as for someone leaving the school we know somebody who is leaving the show so it is pretty obvious. To me the voice sounds just like Alli anyway, it just sounds auto tuned a little so it’s not as obvious. It’s not like they are trying to trick us by making us think it’s not Alli becuase most people who aren’t friends with Melinda on twitter or go to blogs like this wouldn’t know that Melinda is leaving the show anyway.

Ugh…I wish the actors would stop mentioning that Annie keeps filming with Aislinn, Jordan and Munro…It’s hard not to get my hopes up on a possible FiAdam relationship when they keep bringing it up! XP (Especially since they all came in early to film? God, the possibilities!!)

FiAdam would be kind of cute, but I never really thought it had a chance of happening until now…
I just don’t see how it would work out though. From what we know, Fiona is straight, so how would it work out for her to date someone biologically female? It does pose some problems sexuality-wise, considering that sexuality is not just mental, but physical. How would Fiona be able to be genuinely in love with someone who she is attracted to because of their male personality, but who also has a female body?
It would be sweet if Fiona decided she didn’t care about that, because it would prove genuine feelings were in play, but part of being in love is sexuality. Her accepting Adam for who he is would be awesome, but I think in this situation it would take a little more than acceptance.
Their relationship would bring a whole new meaning to loving someone for their mind. XD

I’ve actually never seen Fiona as very sexual. From what we’ve seen of her so far, she cares more about the love aspects of a relationship, rather than the physical. And I don’t think she’s heterosexual, either; I see her sexuality as much more fluid than that. She seems to be a unique person with her own ideals, who doesn’t pay attention to what other people say or what the social norm might be. So I can easily see her embracing Adam for who he is – body and all.

Oh, I’ve never seen Fiona as very sexual either. But everyone, or at least most people (because I can’t speak for all) are sexual in some way. It’s just a normal part of being human, or a living thing at all, really.
I wasn’t trying to undermine the importance of love in a romantic relationship in comparison to the sexual aspect, I was merely making the point that sexuality does play some part (in varying amounts for different people) in a romantic relationship. If two people loved each other, but there was no physical attraction between them, I wouldn’t really regard it as romantic, maybe more along the lines of platonic. Unless, you’re someone who believes that romantic love is a totally different kind of love from that of platonic or sibling-like affection, in which case, sexuality may play no part at all. But, like I said, sexuality is both mental and physical, so maybe Fiona will be able to accept Adam’s female body and instead be attracted to his male personality. Although, I can’t speak from personal experience, seeing as I’ve never been in love. I’m just trying to look at it from a logical, inexperienced point of view, or as logical as you can be about love. I agree that Fiona seems like the type of person to value love over all else, but I’m certain she has sexual desire just like anyone else.
And maybe Fiona isn’t heterosexual. I have no idea. I was simply basing my opinion off of what we know of her, which is that she’s only kissed guys during her time on the show, one of which was her brother (but that’s a completely different discussion). So I suppose she might not be straight, we just don’t really know for sure yet. But if her sexuality is fluid, I’m sure her and Adam would have no problem. So I hope you’re right, because I really do want Adam to have a girlfriend.
Sorry. I may have contradicted myself a bit. I was sort of just rambling off thoughts.

Stephen Stohn confirmed on twitter that Degrassi is currently on Winter Break. It doesn’t even look wintery outside :( Among the other million things he said, Degrassi apparently received really good ratings this year! w00t :)

Breaking-ish Degrassi News. Stephen Stohn broke down Season 10 :D
Here’s the scoop: the Boiling Point was the first half of Season 10–it ended last week, it was 24 episodes broadcast daily,
when the Boiling Point ended we were at Winter Break… when we pick up this October we will be returning from Winter Break.
The episodes starting this October are no longer rferred to as the Boiling Point, they are simply Degrassi.. they will be broadcast weekly..
there will be 20 episodes broadcast weekly in the second half of Season 10.. this is down slightly from our original projection of 24..
at the end of the 20 episodes in the second half of Season 10 we will be just starting Spring Break
while nothing is confirmed, the ratings for Degrassi have been so good this year that we are very confident there will be a Season 11…
Season 11 would start likely in July of next year at Spring Break…
..and the first half of Season 11 would likley consist of 24 episodes broadcast daily–just like this year!

It’s almost like they are getting more time to build characters, they really want to people to feel attached to this cast and not complain as soon as you get new characters they already graduate so why should I care about their issues lol.
