MAIN PLOT: Alli wants Drew to be her boyfriend.
There’s really not much to Drew and Alli’s “relationship,” other than the fact they have completely different views on what they want; Alli wants to be an official couple, while Drew isn’t “into labels.”
This plot is annoying by the end because I’m forced to have to pick between the lesser of two evils, and even then I’d rather choose to see more of Kenna’s PDA instead. Drew behaves sketchy the entire time, turning down Alli’s invite to the dance in order to do homework…on a Friday night (they used to use that excuse all the time on Degrassi Junior High).
Meanwhile, Alli is overly persistent in trying to get what she wants (for him to go to the dance, and to commit to her), so she does Drew’s history assignment. It gets him in trouble, and only pushes him further away.
The key to the story is knowing why Drew is acting so shady, and though the obvious reason is so he can fool around with other girls, there’s no moment within the story that declares his intentions (without suspicion). Both Alli and Drew are unlikable in this plot, which is a storyline rarity, and without having a side I prefer over the other the story in Part 1 leaves me hanging…but not in a good way.

SUBPLOT 1: Sav and Holly J become closer.
The Band Slam has been canceled, so Sav and Holly J come up with the idea to a have dance at Above The Dot. It also appears that Sav has a crush on Holly J, and the feeling is sort of mutual. Sav asks her to hang out and they do so at Holly J’s job, and then Sav kisses her while they’re playing around with balloons.
It’s probably just me, but I don’t get why people think they’re AS random as people who dislike them as a potential couple think. Some reasons for why I think this plot worked:
1) Their chemistry is great. Now that Holly J is no longer acting OOC, she’s back to normal (for now), and I still think she’s strongest female character on the show. Ray’s acting has improved greatly this season; the maturity of his character (aka he’s done playing the pseudo comic relief guy) has helped as well. Two good characters should always work well together onscreen.
2) They’re both vulnerable. Holly J’s coming off of a breakup and all the stress that came with the relationship. Sav’s been grounded, so the only things he’s involved with is class and student council. He just needs “someone to be nice to him right now,” and the same goes for Holly J. Plus they work together on student council, so the idea that they’d naturally become closer is realistic.
3) There’s already history there of Holly J liking Sav dating back to Season 7. Anyone who thinks Holly J would be backstabbing Anya if things go further doesn’t realize that their relationship as “best friends” has always been a paper-thin, superficial affair. And I LOL at any character who uses the term “love of my life” to describe their feelings for someone on DEGRASSI (considering all teen couples on the show are doomed from the beginning).
But for the record…just because I like the idea of Sally J, it doesn’t mean I think they’re going to be together forever or something. These two happen to mesh well together to make their potential romance enjoyable to watch.

SUBPLOT 2:Â Connor has an online girlfriend.
Connor has a girlfriend…even if she is just online. He spends too much time playing online that he’s worn out and is no longer participating in what’s happening in the real world. He and LoveQueen16 take things up a notch when she gives Connor her phone number.
I like this plot because it’s a perfect fit for Connor. Plus the whole geek gamer falling for an online girl thing is a plot that Degrassi should’ve done a long time ago. They’ve got a nice track record for online-relationship storylines; Emma’s was ok and Darcy’s was great, so I’m optimistic about this.

Drew&Ali , what can I say ? Did they ‘Break up’ because the promo seems likee there gonna go threw a fight then make up at the end , but I think they make up anyways cause it says in an ep that bianca tempts him to be unfaithful , unles he has someone else . Sav and HollyJ plot didn’t really intrest me but today seems like a whole lot of drama so can’t wait for that . Now conner and his ‘gf’ . . . :-/ , yhea . Throughout the show I was distracted by that promo for the week with adam . I already no im not going to sit threw the show with out crying , lol . & It looks like drew is defending adam when they beat him up . Only time I actually really really like drew is when he’s in stepbrother role , like in YDKMN pt.2 , can wednesday come any faster .

I’ve been thinking the same thing! it’s weird that the writers didn’t include a scene where we get to see Jenna and Alli make up, since just a couple of episodes ago, Alli was giving Jenna the could shoulder!
My guess it that Claire has been so busy with school/activities/Eli that Alli has been desperate to find other friends… this is kind of hinted at in the episode where Alli tries to start the dance club.

Holl J and Sav are actually really cute. I like them together a lot, more than I liked her with Declan.
Connor… Idk. I don’t really like his character and I found this plot boring, like every other one he’s ever been in.
As for Alli, WHY THE HELL IS SHE FRIENDS WITH JENNA? I mean, isn’t Clare supposed to be her bestie? Or did she just ditch her? And where is Clare these days I wonder. I miss her.

well remember in the episode where Alli made the dance club, well, Clare was in yearbook, so she would have to find someone else to sit with, and Jenna was her last option apparently, and maybe she was only talking to her at the time bc clare was still in yearbook, but i still agree, WHY IN THE WORLD IS ALLI FRIENDS WITH JENNA@?!@?!

but it’s not that we need clare to be in every episode or to be alli’s only friend. it’s that it just doesn’t make logical sense for alli’s best friend to not be present at all in two episodes which strongly focus on alli.

Really good, agreeable thoughts on this ep Kary. I thought i was gonna hate this episode, but was pleasantly surprised. it wasnt godly, but it was very watchable. Sav/Holly J surprised me with the pure chemistry, and I liked Connor’s plot. Drew/Alli…eh. I cant stand alli this season, but Drew is alright.

Main Plot: I agree that Alli is too pushy and just generally annoying in how shallow she has become. On a side note when did she dump Claire for easy-sleazy-Jenna? [the amount of Kenna in this episode made me nauseated]. But I aso believe that Drew is a jerk, he should learn to handle his emotions better and not expect “his woman” to jump and sit when he tells her to.
Subplot 1: Holly J and Sav are not random. Way back in their first season they got sorta close but he was crushing on Anya at the time so Holly J went for that weird guy Blue. And agree that they are cute together, it’s a whole different flavor than Dolly J because in certain ways Sav and Holly J are very similar. I like them but I have a feeling it won’t last because future episode summaries have said- basically- that she will plan to screw him over in high school politics.
Subplot 2: I don’t know. It’s not a bad storyline. I just hope this isn’t another creepy pedophile storyline. However if it’s not and it turns out ok I think that sends a message [if a bit skewed] that double standards are acceptable.
I hate watching episodes that have none of my favorite characters :[

It was only like a few seconds clip,you could obviously see that they weren’t supposed to show it. You could hear someone about to say something. It showed Bobby and Fiona at the stand for a few seconds and then it froze,showed like 3 seconds from an episode in season 2,froze again,then finally went back to the scheduled show

I thought this episode was going to suck big time, but it’s good.
The Alli and Drew Plot was okay, Alli is becoming a little obbessive with drew. Why does she just want labels? It’s getting annyoing.
The Holly J and Sav plot was surprising, that they actually look cute together and have good chemistry.
The Connor plot I was waiting for, and it was good and great set up. So happy Connor finally gets a story plot.
Can’t wait till tonight and Wednesday/Tuesday

See my whole issue with the Conner plot is that they ran out of the place b4 finding out if that was actually the girl so technically it could be anyone still like Ms.Oh as some speculate. IF it is Ms.Oh I hope she doesn’t lose her job because she seems like shes doing a good job of keeping the kids in line so they don’t bounce on the Bouncy balls (ironic isn’t it XD)

I don’t get why everyone hates Alli more than Drew. I absolutely hate Drew. He’s just so, ugh. First, with his mom getting into the Riley thing, I wish he could have just told her to stay out of it. And then, who the hell gives a girl a “test” to be a girlfriend? Stupidest thing ever.

I think drew is a really solid character. His mom was pushy and shouldn’t of gotten into the situ. but it was all to set up for the rivalry(is that how its spelled?) between him&riley. And the test was just a front for him to cover his true feelings (the fact that he thought ali would think he’s dumb). In YDKMNpt2. he actually seems really sweet, and his interactions with adam is cute too. In MBIACpt1, he defends his brother after what I think owen did to him, and I think that’s just awesome. So yea he has his shallow moments, but this season he has become one of my favorites.

Well for this Alli; If I was to judge. It would be an F, I finally see what Kary is talking about with Alli. It seems the writers just changed her. I mean wasn’t she was suppose to be like the new Manny? Now she just seem like a Obsessive dumb bat. But Don’t get me wrong, No Matter what I think Melinda Shankar Kills Her Role. No one else could make Alli the way she is. I hope Alli gets better or come back!
Main Plot: Wow! One word. And Not in a good way. I know it’s just a setup but the grade for this perfect, And it only gets that for the Acting. The Setup was kind of blah, maybe it’s just so blah to me because How Alli is acting. I mean get real, it looks like Drew doesn’t even care for Alli. She acting dumb, I can’t stand to see Alli and Drew together. Dralli is an Ugly couple. I believe the next episode is going to be much better. Hopefully, Let us pray!
Subplot One: Holly J. and a Pimple! Very unique, Lol I was rofl when I saw that. But any ways, I kind of felt it was ramdom because it seems like just this episode they started to like each other. I mean Sav and Holly J. Is okay as a Couple but then again it kind of Ugly. It would’ve been better if the writers would’ve showed some chemistry relationship between the two during the last episodes, like during the election and during that funraiser. I think? I wouldn’t grade that a B. It was be a C.
Subplot Two: I feel weird by saying, Connor was actually the only plot that interested me. It was a solid setup and how it’s a relationship with someone online. Awesome; Connor was on of the character I disliked but I would’ve given him a B+ Because his acting is pretty good. He’s plays that Nerdy boy so amazingly. I know the next episode is going to be a success.

I like Sav and Holly J together because sav can make her laugh. Holly J is so serious and driven, she needs someone to really make her smile and make her happy. Sav is perfect because although he’s super sweet and funny, he’s serious about his education too, so he wouldn’t be be a bad influnence on her. They are both intelligent and good leaders. And I’m happy thier working together and like each other.
But I do love Anya. You can say whatever you want about Anya but you could never say that she didn’t love Sav with all her heart. Their only issue was that Sav couldn’t man up to tell his parents about her. Maybe some girls would accept being hidden or whatever, but the fact that Anya always made it known that she wouldn’t stand being Sav’s secreat school girlfriend forever shows true intergrity and honor.
Anya is amazing and I hope she starts dating peter! Ha! Take that Sav.
Alli and Drew are both morons. Alli is shallow and Drew is a jerk. Drew is using Alli but she subjected her self to it. She shouldn’t kiss a boy who won’t commit to her. Alot of girls make that mistake.
And if Jenna is pregnant I guess Alli will be the god mother and is going to throw her the biggest baby shower high school bash ever. At first I was disgusted seeing her hanging out with Jenna but then I started thinking back to the Johhny days. Alli took Jenna to the hospital with her and preferred to confide in Jenna. They really did like eachother. And maybe now that Clare has Eli…Ali doesn’t feel bad about it.

First Holly J. And Sav together. I see what you mean but then again you have to admit. Sav never show any interest until now. I mean? It just flew over my head. It seems the whole setup was rediculous. But the whole Anya thing. True. Anya is a great character, and I love that time when she finally stood up to Holly J. My whole opinion about Holly J. Has changed, she used to be my favorite in Season seven and Eight, and then it became Alli; Her character has gotten rediculous and Drew! Is terrible guy. I so Dislike him. But You can’t lie Melinda Shankar can sure act great. Jenna is my hated Character on the show. She was pretty kool on season nine but now she’s just stupid an boring. That whole “I’m fat” Thing was the gayest plot ever, They should’ve gave it to Marrisol, How ever you spell that girls name. Also my hated character was Clare but now she was very pretty and her acting is Solid, I just want to see her so badly break down and become miserable, I know Aislinn Paul can do it! She’s now my favorite character and I started to develope that during season nine. Dave is my most fave!

i expected the holly j/sav pairing to come off as random, but i liked how they set it up. they’ve always had some level of chemistry (s7 “ladies night” sav: “you could never be in anyone’s shadow. you’ve got a fire inside.” hj: “no wonder anya loves you. you’re perfect.”) and the attraction now wasnt nearly as sudden as i expected.
and did anyone else CRACK UP at the helium scene? “come on, all the cool kids are doing it.” “There’s just so much peer pressure.” “Helium. It’s the right thing to do.” and then he tries to kiss her and she’s like, “Wow . . . hi.” not only did i find that hilarious, but just that one line (hj not being ready to just suddenly kiss sav) made the whole solly j relationship much more believable to me.

Ok…this whole Sav and Holly J storyline is ridiculous to me. Just two episodes prior, when Sav stole his parents car and was getting yelled at by his father he said he had to give up alot of things for them and first thing he said was “the love of my life” which is Anya. NOW all of a sudden out of nowhere he likes (has a crush on) Holly J. Its obvious for Holly J, Sav is a rebound. I’m not denying she has feelings for Sav but I think its only friendship because the minute Declan comes back, I think they will get back together (Holly J & Declan). Seeing how this so called relationship has happened overnight, I just think its denstined for doom. Even if their not together now, it will always be Sav & Anya.

Degrassi-fans.com got to go to the Degrassi set and it seems there were a lot of spoilers on set that day lol. The one thing I really was interested in was the Ravine being used again that only means bad news. She also mentioned something of Dave holding something he really shouldn’t be holding. I suggest everyone goes and read that post(its really long and has pics) but its worth it if u wondered how the Degrassi set looks and whats going on there.

The episode description of this episode did not match the ACTUAL Sav/Holly J episode at all. Nothing happened except the two of them agreeing to just have fun over the summer.

Clearly you forgot the beginning of Season 7. Holly J gave up on Sav because he was childish, but she did have an interest in him before. Sav had no interest in Holly J because she was borderline evil.
Obviously two school years is enough time to solve those issues and bridge the gap. It’s not a bad pairing… it’s a bit reversed that Holly J agreed to a secret relationship given S9, but at the same time she’s not looking for love like last time, she’s looking for solace, simple connection of skin and lust.

OMG im tired of the Sav and Holly J haters lemme share a couple of reasons why their relationship works better than Sav and Anya
1. It was not half as random/ Theres a build up of sorts
There have been signs since Season 7 proving that there was something there.
2. They are both on Student Council
THIS leaves time for them to be together A LOT especially considering Sav’s Punishment
3. THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, ITS FOR 6 MONTHS/ JUST FOR FUN
There’s no attachments unlike Anya who wants his parents to know everything which just bores the viewers and was generally a waste of time since they ultimately broke up).
SO OVERALL this is just a better relationship between two very liked characters with a decent-ish build up

Long time reader, first time commented lol
Maybe it I’d because I really dislike clingy Anta, but holly j and sav totally make sense to me.
1. They have known eachother since lakehaurst. They have always had a little bit of a connection, although they have not been necessarily friends. I think this actually eliminates the awkwardness of a friend to dating relationship.
2. Also, they have been on student council together. Spending that much time together always results in some sexual tension. Maybe I was the only one who saw it it maybe it was subtle, but in I just don’t know what to do with myself, I saw a build up in their friendship. I thought there was some light flirting there.
3. For those thinking about Anya, it is High School! You can feel like you are completely and undeniably in love with somebody one day and move on to the next one the next. I can not understand their relationship. It was a never ending cycle of pointlessness. Their last rendezvous was for less than a day! Sav needs to move on. Holly J does too.
I guess it makes more sense if you have watched part 2. Also sorry for spelling errors and what not. I am in mobile

is anyone besides me completely psyched to see fiona and anya hanging out together?! i have ALWAYS wanted them to be friends. seriously, mia was my favorite character (despite her being terrible in season 8, i was hoping she’d be good again) and when she left, i decided that anya was going to be my new favorite. but since, anya wasnt quite as awesome as a favorite character should be, i was hoping to love one of the newbies. so from around the time we new of fiona’s existence, and very little about her as a person, i had decided that i would love her. therefore, i ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted her to be friends with anya! when they worked on play costumes together, i was sooo happy. im sorry for the rant (especially since most of you probably dont care at all about my inner turmoil), but them being friends was, like, my greatest with for degrassi since the beginning of season 9. i realize that being in one scene together and walking side-by-side once doesnt actually mean that they’re friends, BUT THEY COULD BE! i am ridiculously excited.

oh ALSO if u read what happened when Degrassi-fans.com got to go to the Degrassi set, they asked if Declan would be in more episodes and they said they just filmed with him recently and they didn’t fit him into the carnival promo because they weren’t sure how to considering he is in New York most of the season.
MORE IMPORTANTLY they asked if they would do the 48 episode with the Daily episodes in the first half like this season in season 11. Epitome said that MOST LIKELY if Teen Nick/Much Green lights the next season then they will use the same format for season 11 since its working really well now and bringing in the views and good ratings.

it was amazing, even the Alli and drew plot. This is the Alli we want to see this season. Hopefully she can stay like that. Also loving the Sally J. Plot and the foreshadowing that Anya has a feeling. Also the Connor’s girlfriend thing gets amazing because he sees her and still likes her. Even If she’s 40 :O
can’t wait till tomorrow, I saw a very intense seen of Adam/Fitz/Owen, it’s so horrible what they do to him.

So, watching this whole drew-centric plot made me think. It’s probably been put out there already, so sorry for repeating if I do.
I think it’s possible that DREW gets killed. or seriously hurt. When Bianca takes him down to the boiler room, it’s a trap set there by her, fitz, and owen. All of who obs have a problem with Adam, his stepbrother. Because Drew supported his brother and kept it a secret, eh’ just as bad in their eyes. So they decide o fuck with him, maybe just bet him up. but then things get out of control, or something like that, and BAM. Lockdown, death, Bianca has made a boyfriend disappear, and Fitz does something which shows him he NEEDS to change.

i definitely disagree with the sav thing. i think he’s so gross. he just seems like not a good actor and i hate seeing him kiss holly. he was cute with anya, but with holly it just seems so mismatched. i know she liked him two years ago but now he just seems like such a dork and lame and pointless. the other plot was better. holly j should not hook up with sav but since there are no other senior boys on the show thats probably why they did that lol.

Goddamn you all!!!! I just read the entire list of posts, and no one identified the *NSYNC reference until right at the end. Ugh, that could have been me who identified it first. Uber pissed right now. :P
And is it just me, or can a lot be said about couples by their nicknames? EClare is such a cute couple, and that name is awesome. On the other hand, Dralli are a terrible match – is that really a surprise, given that their nickname looks as ugly as it sounds aloud?
Then there’s the whole Sanya/Dolly J/Sally J debacle. Personally, I like the sound of Sally J the best. And I do like the idea of Sav and Holly J together – I quickly tired of Holly J’s life revolving around Declan, and I was never really a fan of Sav and Anya. But that’s just me.
