yea , you qot most of the definition down; in more clearer words it’s flirtinq or actinq Like you’re interested in someone & at other times actinq as if youre simply friends with that person & as if the flirtinq never happened . ( this would be the definition when it comes to a Love/Like term ) because you can use the term “mixed siqnals” in other more uncommon situations .

Who says people who are gay are different? We are who we want to be– everyone takes up their life role eventually. If you believe someone is different because they are gay it’s the same as saying someone is different because they like chocolate and you like vanilla. They aren’t different. They have the same blood, the same skin, the same organic make-up…they just don’t fit in with what conditioned society says is ‘normal’. As if society knows anything about what normal really is- there is NO normal, it is different for everyone because we are all different people living different lives.
The point is, Reily has every right to be who he wants to be…just like Adam, just like Eli…just like everyone.

What’s so bad about being different? Give it a break! Liking chocolate over vanilla in comparison to being gay can’t even be compared! Your less likely to be ridiculed based on the ice cream you order. I have plenty of gay friends who have said they are “different”. I’m Black and I went to school with mostly White kids, obviously I’m “different” from the majority. Sometimes being different is good. Those who stand out from the crowd with confidence and break away from conformity will be noticed and please believe…they are different! Obviously this is why Riley doesn’t want to come out. Because like many gay people or ANYONE unlike the majority, he will be seen as “different” and because you’ve just defined “different” as being bad/negative, there will be others who stay hidden away too. Hell, I’d stay in the closet myself if I couldn’t own up to being different. Which is the total difference between him and Zane! Zane recognizes he is unlike the majority and he is confident about it, therefore others really can’t tear him down and the word “different” doesn’t bother his existence. Its when people start calling you derogatory slurs that should bother you as opposed to being called “different” from the crowd. Learn to stand out and love yourselves! I’m “different” from most females of my ethnicity and I LOVE IT!!!

Er..Isabel…did you even read my post? My point is to embrace the idea that we are ALL different and that persecuting someone based on social norms is futile because there no such thing as normal. Normal is different for everyone because we all lead different lives. You base your idea of ‘different’ on what society says is normal– a concept that simply does not exist.

Red, you completely missing your own point. Social norms are determined by the group/community/social society.(I.E. what is normal) The majority of the Degrassi football team are straight, therefore the minority of the team, that is gay,(Zane and Riley) are “different.” I understand perfectly what you mean that the terms “normal” and “different” are basically illusions that are difficult to define, but they are unmbrella terms defined by each social group. According to the rest of the football team Riley is “different.” Rather once they find out they will deem him “different.” As Eliza said different is okay. Yes we know he has other friends, but those are not majority, nor are those the people he is afraid to come out to.

I swear, if Owen does write “Riley’s Gay” i’m gonna go to Canada, track that fictional character down, and beat him!
But still, people might not automatically think Riley’s actually gay, they might just think the words being used as an insult(which disgusts me. I hate when people use the word “gay” in a derogatory form. If they do however find out, I can’t wait to see how his secret being exposed is dealt with.
And as for Eli giving Clare mixed signals, that sounds interesting ;) Clare’s character is being developed really well this season, and Eli is a character I like whether or not he’s with her(though they’re pretty awesome together too)… can’t wait to find out more about his past. I’m excited to see how the writers are going to push their relationship forward.

You know what a really interesting plot could be? Abusive GIRLFRIENDS, or sexual harrasment against GUYS. in MY school, there was an incident where this boy, wwho was really like J.T, was trying to get laid by having this popular girl touch his junk… yeah didn’t turn out so well. They teased him for having a tiny member, at first it was an inside thing, but then the girls started to tell other people. He would get humiliated in the hallway because the girls would shout “Pinkies up” and hold their pinky in the air to remind him how small he was.
That would be something they should do between Dave/Ali or Drew/Ali. And that’d be a great set up for a sexual harrasment suit against Ali, causing her to go to “juviie” or something, so tht her character can get an excuse for leaving the show for a little while like she already plans on doing.

totally agree with the abusive girlfriend or sexual abuse reversed. its a misconception that men can’t be abused, but it happens, verbally, physically and emotionally. my boyfriend used to date an abusive girl but wouldn’t defend himself as to not hit a girl as is the problem for most guys. but i think that a twist in roles like this would be really interesting!

Part of me is glad Riley is technically “out”, but another part feels bad for Riley. He shouldn’t be outed that way, before he’s ready and all. Glad to see Zane, though. I’m hoping they stay together. Zane’s a good influence on Riley too. And based on Zane’s little “my guy” speech in 99 Problems, non-football Riley seems like he was good to Zane too.

With all of the bullying between guys on the show, I’m surprised that Degrassi’s never really had a pack of “mean girls” who harass other girls. I’m not talking aggressive, “bad”, party girls like Bianca or Alex. I’m talking about more nuanced versions of Holly J and her crew from season 7. As bitchy as Holly J was then, she wasn’t really that much of a threat to other girls on the show. She was just snarky, and threw her peers’ brownies into soup. But I’d like to see an extended, more realistic take on cyber-bullying, gossip, and harassment among girls, because bullying takes different forms. Between girls, there’s a greater deal of emotional than physical bullying, and I’d like to see the show tackle that.
I’d like to see a quiet, almost Rick-esque girl become a target of harassment, who perhaps is driven to drug/alcohol abuse or suicide (provided the latter isn’t actually covered this season). Because of Rick’s introduction to the show as a “villain”, it was hard for us to feel bad for him when he was being bullied/harassed by our protagonists on the show. I’d like to see a female character who’s actually introduced as someone we’re supposed to root for, but who nonetheless is tortured by her peers.

I’m glad its taking a while for him to come out. That way, is like we get to know him better. We’ve seen him come full circle, from a small “accidental” kiss, to a boyfriend, to a new episode dealing with homophobia. Besides, it would be boring if he came out to soon and didn’t show any sings of struggling, which is what kids go through. It’s realistic that way.
@Gianna- I am a little worried about the mixed signals, I think they’re cute together and I want to see them as a couple. However, I’m glad they’re taking time with their relationship though, instead of Alli who WANTS A BOYFRIEND RIGHT NOW!

i’m a huge fan of Eli, and i happen to be a girl. but i actually love the fact that he’s sadistic and creepy cause it makes his character so much more interesting. we get more depth that way, which can create better storylines with him in the future.

MTV isn’t the main channel for Degrassi. It wouldn’t show a promo that TeenNick or Much Music hasn’t shown. MTV doesn’t even air the episodes till the day after. So MTV would not air a promo for the mid season finale especially when we are only on episode 12/24.

I’m not so sure, I’ve seen some Degrassi promo’s on MTV that I don’t think have aired on teen nick. They weren’t for brand new episodes but they do have ones with their own spin on it. There might be some fact to this, but if what was said earlier is true, then is their someone locked in a black box with a bomb timer on it? Because that would be straight RIDICULOUS, even for degrassi standards

But were only on episode 12 why would they have a promo for episode 24 when there is 12 more episodes. TeenNick may do something like that, (ex: On August 26th the boiling point leads to … or w/e) but I can’t see MTV having the rights to show a promo for All Falls Down when TeenNick and Much don’t, esp this early in the season.

the guy who claimed to have seen it, (btw way he was very convincing) has been acting fishy, and claims that he isnt lying, but there is no one besides him that claims to have seen the video. I thought it was real but its just another(or same) person messing with us knowing that we are desperate for spoilers. Im just going to enjoy the episodes as they come, its better to be surprise and excited when you dont know whats going on.

im really proud of holly j. she definitely did the right thing. and the ending still leaves it wide open for them to get back together. also, im loving fiona! its so sweet how she warns holly j against declan, and then theres, “im YOUR friend, holly j.”
and the whole Three Tenners plot just bored me. i hope that band doesnt last past these episodes.
and eli is so freaking clever! but im surprised that clare didnt get all that mad.

Fitz is a dick and everything, but Eli went to far.
Yeah Fitz treats him like crap but if you notice Eli is always being a jerk to him as well.
Like when they first meet the first thing Eli says is “Whats wrong with you,” a simple “Hey could move out of my parking spot please” might have given him better results.
He is also very full of himself and I’m starting to not like him.

Spoiler*** ok I love that Holly J didnt cave into money. I dont blame declan, to him money is nothing. But Holly J has fought to much to stand on her own. I’m glad she took a stand for herself. But at the same time I felt their break up was a rush way to get declan off the show :/
I love Eli, but he seemed kinda scary with his Fitz plot, and I got chills when I heard that the name of the id was of a convicted arsonist! forshadowing? I would of expected clare to be a bit more mad at him, but he can sure sweet talk her(and me) into believe his plot was harmless. But I think its save to say that fitz will try to get his revenge, this is not the last of fitz and eli. To me this was a very intense episode, and I feel the suspense is building up.

Woah, spoiler alerts. Had to skip the last few comments there. I’m just killing time until it airs on much music. Concerning the whole Riley/Owen thing, I totally feel like the writers are finally moving onto to the more serious things that Riley will face because of his sexuality. Not just his emotional turmoil but also society’s prejudice and discrimination. Plus Owen is a character that just popped out of no where… but I have to admit, the guy who plays Owen is pretty dang cute.
Plus Clare is totally becoming one of my fave characters this season. Ali has been the new Manny and its irritating! I still feel iffy about Eli but apparently he has become extremely popular. He better not break her heart!

This season is by far the best season of Degrassi. EPIC.
Im kinda sad about Declan and Holly J :/ They were my favorite couple <3 But im glad she stood her ground. & eli? WOAH. I love his character & all but something is really wrong with him, no joke. I hope Clare gets to help him out with that and they end up together in the end. Hopefully the adam and eli theories arnt tru about them eventually likeing each other, weird o.O ha sorry about my rant, just felt like sharing .

The writers are really playing with us, first the scence when clare screams and she wants eli to do the same and she they end up holding each other, and then when she touches his hand when he is leaving her house. Then when he grabs her arm in try honesty part 1, and now when she touches his lip, they are really teasing us, every episode they are in together so far has them touching each other at least once and I love every minute of it!! But they are really doing this on purpose, I have to say the Eli and Clare courtship is unique compare to other degrassi couples.

courting isnt the act of dating but the wooing stage before you become official. Knowing Degrassi, the relationship is bound to go south at some point, but what I think is unique is the initial spark and that we can actually see em falling for each other.
With most degrassi couples I always felt like they just one day tell the actors “okay, so today your going to like this person, and tomorrow you’ll like that person”
Like KC and Jenna, to me it made no sense that KC would go for her.

wow Eli’s character is REALLY creepy, but in an interesting way that makes me want even more. Munro plays the character convincingly well. especially with the sadistic smirks and evil eye. haha it kind of scared me but made me even more interested in his character. Ahh i’m so loving this season!

am i the only one who got chills when Fitz was in the car and Eli was giving him like this evil look? This episode showed us a glimpse of the darker side to Eli. I loved the moment when Clare touched his lip and he got closer :). But damn, Clare’s gonna have one hell of a roller coaster ride with Eli.
Declan really pissed me off in this episode. I’m glad Holly J let him have it.

OMG. Just watched Try honesty part 2 on much music (love that channel) and I’m in love with Sav. Lol, plus I really like the message that Degrassi was sending through Holly J’s plot in this episode, how nothing is free. I can totally relate with that comment. I’m also digging this Eli/Fitz warfare degrassi is brewing up here. Might get a little to heated.
Also, I read on some websites about Fitz and the little information about him says he “has a thing for smart girls”, so…. maybe he does hit on Clare or something. Not even sure, but for someone that would so just make the whole Eli/Fitz rivalry so more enticing!

Trust me, I love Eli as much as the next fangirl, but calling the cops, making a fake I.D. with a convicted arsonists I.D., and making him get himself in a fight with Fitz? That was scary, and a bit too far.

I was totally convinced he was getting his ass handed to him, but that made me realize that he was just baiting fitz on further so that it looked like fitz was going off when the cops came. Everyone is saying eli was really creepy in this episode but LOOK AT HIM. he is supposed to be creepy! he drives a herse for crying out loud. I did think that Clare was definitley right with this one though, he should have just let it go. He made a mess of something that could have been shrugged off. Like any couple, or soon to be couple, they will obviously have their differences, but they both care about each other enough to look past each others flaws

so, the eli and fitz war is only going to get worse now. and we know that the “bullying trifecta” of fitz, owen, and bianca isn’t going to be too kind to adam in my body is a cage. and adam is eli’s best friend.
i am really concerned that targeting adam could be part of fitz’s plan to get to eli. i know bianca has something to do with it, but she’s friend’s with fitz, and maybe she’s the one to find out adam’s secret, and she tells fitz. and of course, hitting on clare could be another way for fitz to try to get to eli. i can definitely tell the pressure is building, and that while eli’s plan was successful, the consequence of it might be adam getting hurt. D:
a lot of people keep mentioning eli’s “dark past.” i don’t remember the quote saying that said it was his past, just that he has a plot degrassi hasn’t done before. but i can’t find it right now, so i could be wrong. either way, to me, eli seems a bit reckless. the fact that he smiled while getting beat up intrigues me, even if it was part of his plan. i can see him putting himself in dangerous situations and not having a lot of concern for his own well-being, and of course clare will have to worry a lot. i’m still excited to see her break down his walls, and i hope he is humbled by something soon (which could be what happens to adam).
i like that eli is a prankster (the idea of a prank war is really appealing to me, maybe because it reminds me of certain harry potter characters), and i like that he is definitely getting in too deep.
but seriously, not sixteen-year-old gets to be a mastermind like that with no consequences. and i’m no fan of cockiness, but i find it endearing that he’s so creepy and screwed up. i really wish i had some idea what his “issue” is. i’m so lost.

is there no one else who was disappointed with the way the declan/holly j plot panned out? the promos made it seem like he was trying to control her with his money, but during the actual episode it felt like he was just trying to help so that they could spend time together.
plus she was originally upset about the whole tinsley thing, but never really asked what was up with that- just because he showed up unexpectedly with jewelery? as if guys don’t do that when they’re trying to distract you from something they’ve done wrong? then again i’ve had bad luck so maybe i’m overly paranoid about those situations :\
then on the way to the airport i thought she totally overreacted when declan said money was a way to fix problems. he obviously wasn’t saying SHE was a problem, he was talking about solving her money problems. it’s not like he said “i’ll give you some cash to just shut up and be happy little wifey, because you being poor is getting really annoying.” i know the point they were trying to make, but i don’t feel like it was executed well at all. it came off as her being harsh to declan because of speculative comments made by other people getting to her head. i’ve really started to like holly j, but i was annoyed with how she handled this and felt bad for declan- he’s not trying to be a jerk, he’s just oblivious to problems like hers because he’s so damn rich

Declan was trying to help Holly J, but he was becoming oblivious to the fact that money wasn’t her only problem. He kept on making all these haste decisions without her input, such as them flying back to NYU to make the Yale trip. Holly J had SATs and other important assignments and also to help her parents move. Plus he did say “how much do I have to pay you to do what I ask?” Like if a guy said that to me, I would be pissed! I think he made her feel a little controlled and kept, by buying her a diamond necklace and throwing money in her face to abide by his decisions. Knowing Holly J’s character she likes being in control and cracking the whip. IDK, she did totally forget about the whole Tinsley fencing with Declan thing.

he worded that badly, but i thought it was clear he didn’t mean it that way. in context, he was pretty much just saying he’d spend any amount necessary to be able to spend the weekend with her- which she had previously agreed to. i thought SHE was the awful one there, telling him that she was only going to go that weekend because she thought he was cheating on her. makes her look like she doesn’t want to spend time with him but just wants to make sure he’s behaving, and since he came running to her like a good little puppy and she’s reassured, she can now ditch him and go back to her life.

Holly J and declan come from 2 different worlds, and i believe declan ment no bad intent, but Holly J did right for herself.
She has a lot on her shoulders, and she has a SATs and needs to help her parents move. Would you get up and leave your parents to move your room? would you skip on a SATs?
Like her mom said, everything has a price. Declan figured that by offering money and paying for everything he could have holly J, declan lives in a world that he can do what he wants. But how could Holly J stand on her own, while he was paving her way, Holly J may be mean sometimes, but she has worked hard to achive the things she has, it would go against who she is if she did what Declan wanted.

Yeah, I totally get your point that Holly J would just drop everything and hop a plane to make sure Declan wasn’t cheating on her and then agree to him paying her not to work but in the end, I think she realized it wasn’t right to take money from Declan. Degrassi was staying true to Holly J’s character, even if she made some ridiculous decisions so far in season 10. Declan was sweet to offer financial assistance but remember her mom said nothing is free. He obviously didn’t mind giving her money as long she set everything aside and fit into his plans. Plus she never asked him to come to Toronto, he just showed up. IDK, Dolly J is losing there spark but Holly J is no saint.

Don’t get me wrong — I like the Eli & Clare couple as much as the next person.
But am I the only one who thought Eli and Fitz had tons of sexual tension in their fight scene? Especially when Eli stared into the police car and Fitz looked back.
I mean, Degrassi’s shown homosexuality tons of times before, and Fitz’s bullying of Eli could be a way to mask his “true self”/confused feelings. Almost like Season 9’s Riley rage episodes…
Also, Eli is a SUPER SADIST. Convicted arsonist? Wow.

so, heres my speculation for mbiac: watching the promo, it took me a while to figure out what happened when bianca pushed adam and looked astonished (she said something, but i forget what). but heres what i came up with: i think she pusheds him (in the chest, obviously) and he kinda has a look of “jeez, that hurt” and bianca’ll be thinking, “well, its not like i pushed him hard. if he was a guy, that wouldn’t have hurt.”
and i dont think that fitz bullying adam has any connection to eli. i think fitz is just a bully in general. he’ll probably bully riley, too, along with owen.

But knowing Clare’s character she’s going to end up standing up for her feelings for Eli, like she did with KC, and they’ll end up together I’m assuming.

I know it’s a long shot but I’m hoping that riley’s coming out had to do something with adam being picked on with the trans gender thing. As in the boys all gang up on adam for being a trans gender but riley sticks up for him and says that there nothing wrong with being trans gender as much as there nothing wrong with being gay. In a way he makes adam feel better knowing there other people who are lgbt supporting him and fending off jerks like owen and fritz or whoever pushed adam in to the glass door.

Did we ever possibly think that maybe Eli backs off Clare because Fitz might threaten Clare? Eli seems like the kind of “do whatever it takes” kind of guy. What confuses me is with all the drama involving Riley”s sexuality i thought that they would have an episode where Riley finally comes out in front of everyone but it seems like Owen finds out and forces him out of the closet. ATTENTION ALL ELI FANS!!!! Major spoiler it has been pretty much confirmed that eli’s dark past is he got in a car accident with his ex girlfriend and his ex girl friend ended up being killed and he feels it’s all his fault and he dosent want anything to happen to Claire so that’s why he is sending Claire mixed signals and btw I’m more then sure Jenna is pregnant if u see the much music promo she’s holding a pregnancy test and she does not look happy with it :-/

There’s been a rumor going around saying that fitz is going to try and rape Claire during the lockdown?? Can someone tell me if this is true or not or if u think it’s true or whatever cuz I kinda want that to happeng lol not becuz I like hate Claire or anything she’s acually like my fav but it wud really piss Eli off and that wud be so hot!! And interesting to watch but I think this may very well be true cuz fitz does have a thing for smart girls…….

I don’t have the answer for your question, but I totally want that to happen for the same exact reasons! Maybe Eli humiliates Vince in front of the WHOLE school! Oh yes! That would be SO good if that happened! Eli would be so POed! But, one thing that I think might lower the chances of this happening is that Clare’s sister, Darcy was raped. So, if the producers don’t mind doing the same thing to Clare, then it’ll most likely happen! I REALLY hope it does! I mean, don’t get me wrong, I totally LOVE Clare… But this would be so GOOD to watch Eli freak out about it! And that would explain the reason for Eli to get all pissed in the Promo! YES YES YES!!! (: Yeah, I’m evil, I know! ECLARE FOREVER!!!

O and somebody on YouTube (I really doubt most of this is true but…) in the comments under the video of the 2 weeks left of degrassi the boiling point said that fitz and Adam get into a huge fight then Claire walks down the hallway and finds Adam laying on the floor with blood all over his face then fitz is standing over him and sees Claire and starts telling her how much he likes smart girls then that’s when Claire steps back all scared and everything and he trys to rape her while Owen trys to rape alli then drew hears alli scream and trys to come to her rescue but bianca stabs him before he can get to her ( yea I really doubt that last part is true lol) but that’s what some random person said so there probably just lying to get ppl to read there comment
