MAIN PLOT: Sav wins tickets to the Dead Hand concert, but his dad won’t let him go.
Sav wins four tickets and backstage passes to the Dead Hand concert, but once again his life is stifled by his father’s strictness. His dad won’t let him go to the concert, but Sav does convince his dad to let him borrow the truck for a contest to give the tickets away.
Eli and Adam win the tickets, and while tearing down the setup Adam smashes a speaker into the tail light of the truck. I love the flow of interaction between characters in this episode. In the older seasons the characters were pretty much grouped together by grade, and cliques didn’t really interact with each other. But Sav befriends Eli and Adam, who are younger, and so far this season Bianca is a “floater,” whose managed to interact with nearly every group of characters around.
Eli fixes the tail light, and Sav *almost* gets to go to the concert, until he unnecessarily confesses to his dad that something happened to the truck. But the show must go on…..and Sav intends to take his dad’s truck so the trio can make it to the concert of the century.

SUBPLOT 1: Jenna starts to obsess over her weight.
The photoshoot for the Power Squad calendar is coming up, and Jenna finds herself unable to fit into her new uniform. The rest of the plot in this episode is pretty straight forward: she’s overly sensitive about her weight, and becomes desperate enough to talk to Bianca about getting pills to help her shed the pounds quickly.
The major issue is that Jessica Tyler’s performance is flat. Poor KC “feels the wrath” of Jenna’s self consciousness, but Tyler delivers Jenna’s lines so ho hum that it’s hard to believe Jenna believes what she’s saying or even cares about her perceived weight problem. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the plot’s material, I just wish that Jenna would do something to engage me in her plight.

SUBPLOT 2: Fiona finds a new friend.
Fiona’s moved into her new place and she’s ready to let the good times roll with Holly J. However, Holly J’s to preoccupied with preparing for Yale that Fiona finds herself right back where she started: lonely.
Fiona delivers another solid performance, and I definitely feel sorry for her. For now going with the pig is kind of weird, given that Fiona comes from such a high-class society. But that’s the irony of it I guess. I love how Fiona’s gone from just being Declan’s sister who we hardly ever saw in Season 9, to being one of the strongest characters so far in Season 10.

I don’t think there was anything wrong with Jordan’s delivery of Adam. I think she did a great job playing his character. Is Adam transitioning surgically or just binding his breasts and dressing like a guy? Does anyone know if that will be part of his storyline?

It only seemed obvious probably because we know it’s a girl, but i am sure if you were to look at her from Eli’s or Sav’s point of view you wouldn’t have even took it into consideration

I can’t wait for tomorrow, I hope fiona has a new boyfriend soon, and I can’t wait to see jenna’s effect. I love degrassi, also I can’t believe no more leaked episodes. But I want them to get higher rateings! :)

I personally would have given the Jenna storyline a better grade. It’s funny because I’ve hated Jenna for so long and now I’m actually excited to see how it’s going to turn out for her.

This was the weakest episode of the season in my opinion and I kinda have to disagree with your review. I thought the Sav plot excluding his interactions with Eli and Adam was really stupid, especially when he told his father the truth about the truck…what was the point of that? I’d give it a C- I’d keep the Fiona plot at B, because I really like the development in her character over the season so far, and I’d give Jenna’s storyline a B as well

I agree with the main plot rating but I think Jenna’s storyline should get a higher one, and Fiona’s a lower one.
I am pumped that Eli and Adam look like they are going to be buddies.

I could not agree more about Jessica’s acting. I liked the Jenna/Clare plot in Breakaway and now I’m wishing that they kept her as a humorous sub plot character. Honestly I found some of the scenes in tonight’s episode unintentionally funny just because Jess’s acting was so stiff. Her singing the fat girl song? Probably supposed to be intense but I had to laugh. For a plot like this it’s probably not going to matter but I have serious concerns about future serious Jenna episodes (Tears Dry On Their Own namely). I honestly don’t think with the level of acting skill (or really lack there of) she has show us this season Jessica will be able to pull it off.
Also yes Adam and Eli were perfect. As I’m sure the entire Misfits dynamic will continue to be throughout the season.

I agree about Jessica’s acting. I find myself trying really hard to LIKE Jenna, but Jessica isn’t very convincing. She’s always been kind of stiff. I do think this episode is setting up for some serious happenings in Jenna’s storyline. I’m willing to give her another chance and I’m hoping for the best.

Am I the only one who found this episode really, really funny??
Basically KC and Jenna’s whole exchange in the gym… “I just really love Christmas!” I was chewing and I literally almost spit it out. It was so unexpectedly hilarious.
Then after that, the awkward but , “That’s what my last girlfriend said.” comment.
I did NOT expect to like Eli as much as I do. When I first heard about him/saw him I was like, “Oh great, another stereotypical character.” Even though the hearse thing is weird…I love him.
On another note, I knew portraying the character of Adam would be tricky to write and for Jordan to play, but when I watch it, I am still not convinced of the character…does anyone agree with me on this? I need to see more.

I thought the Chantay/Bianca exchange was hilarious. I don’t often laugh out loud at this show, but Bianca looking Chantay up and down and saying, “Or two of you” was pretty hilarious, and exactly the kind of thing the bitchy high school girl would say in real life.

I think someone else mention on another post that its funny how they really expect us to believe that no one suspects that Adam is a girl. Besides his first line (I though she clearly sounded like a girl in that one) I though that in the rest of the episode he did a good job protraying the role of a boy. The writers did a good job in showing Adams awkard transition with comic relief. And in the natural flow of the episode I was a able to overlook the fact that she is obviously a girl, if jordans acting wasnt so good and if the writer hadnt changed their style of writing, then adams storyline would have failed. But I’m really liking what im seeing.

Her acting and the writing is really commendable.
It’s just kind of tough, as a viewer, to have the mindset of the other characters and think she’s a boy and relate to her that way when she so obviously isn’t, you know? It’s going to take more time, I think!

Personally I love Jordy’s acting. She did great. You can tell the writers are making Adam try to be a boy, but he doesn’t know what exactly to say something. Like booyeah? Kim Possible is the only place I have ever heard someone say it. Maybe the writers wanted Jordy to say her first line like a little feminie? The rest was her voice lowered- Jordy is a girl so you have to give her credit. She is obviously trying to protray Adam, and in my eyes, it’s working. If I didn’t know Adam is suppose to be a transgendered and if Jordy wasn’t on Life With Derek, I would wonder if Adam was a girly boy. My mom said he looks like a feminie boy, so why would the Degrassi kids ask questions like, “Are you a boy or a girl?”. That’s just rude and awkward to ask. Xxx

I, by far, loved this episode. I thought all the plots were very intriguing and I craved more from it.
I thought Sav, Eli, Adam trio were great together and I especially loved Eli in this episode. Definitely happy to see Adam introduced in the episode and it was nice how he wasn’t just shoved in there with an intense plot so we get to see him develop a little bit.
The Fiona plot actually was really good. This episode, I felt, for the first time, I could actually feel how lonely she was. When she was begging the shrink to stay with her that’s when I finally saw and felt her desperation not to be lonely. I’m looking forward to seeing what they end up doing with her character and how they help her with the lonliness.
Overall, I thought this episode was great and the cliffhanger at the end was amazing, made me wish that 24 hours went by faster.

I agree. I don’t know how they would have done this, but I think it would have helped keep everyone from saying “Adam’s obviously a girl.” I have known/met a few transgendered people in my life- they did not walk around as caricatures of the other gender and I think that’s what most people are expecting Adam to be. I think a really good trans storyline that deserved more exposure was Max from the L Word. That’s some serious gender bending and I think it’s a good contrast to what Adam is experiencing as a young person and Max is experiencing as an adult.

I really wanted to like Jenna’s plot, because I was ALWAYS on a diet in high school (including eating only egg whites and raw veggies for a couple months, so I laughed when Anya mentioned the “spinach and egg white diet”), but it fell flat for me. Her interpretation of KC’s “so, are you Miss December?” was just weird. I can understand her freaking out over his “you’re not one of those skinny girls” comments, though.
I liked Fiona’s plotline a lot. I honestly didn’t love how they did the Bobby storyline, so this was the first time I really kind of connected with Fiona as a character. I really felt bad for her.
I didn’t love the Sav plotline. Maybe it’s just because I’m way too old to still be watching this show, so I tend to see things from the parents’ point of view instead of the kids, but I don’t think that it’s unreasonable to ban your son from a Monday night concert an hour away from where you live. But I do think that since his dad said he could go, he shouldn’t have taken it back when Sav admitted to busting the taillight. That actually shows that Sav is really responsible, because not only did he have the initiative to get it fixed, but he also was honest enough to act like an adult and acknowledge that it had happened. The whole thing just seemed off to me. I also don’t get how he thinks his father isn’t going to notice the truck is gone — if I were his dad, I would be checking periodically to make sure he hadn’t taken off against my will, considering how badly he wanted to go and how mad he was that he couldn’t.
I also really hate Eli’s character (not in a love-to-hate way, just in a hate way) from what we’ve seen so far, so that part of the plot fell flat for me. Plus, if he and Adam had no way to get to the concert, they shouldn’t have entered a contest for tickets. A minor point, but it bothered me.

I completely agree on pretty much all counts, although I actually liked Jenna’s “chunky girl” song the second time I watched it. I’ve been there, and I get that. Once you’ve seen it already, and you’re past the humor of it, it’s a lot more sympathetic of a moment. That being said, I agree that Jessica Tyler’s acting seemed a little too wooden in this. Where’s the Jenna of Better off Alone? She was far more sympathetic in that episode (on a side note, I liked KC so much more in this episode. He seemed more like the guy he was when he was first introduced). All in all,this is probably my favorite episode really. I’ve watched it like six times already, no joke; it just doesn’t get old!! lol. I’m loving the Sav/Eli/Adam triumvirate. Purely amazing. All of their interactions are so….you know?????? They have fantastic chemistry as far as I can tell. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode! ^^

Eh I’m dissapointed that he is telling everyone that he is going to be leaking the show knowing that the producers and cast members asked for the show not to be leaked. The ratings would be better if people would stop leaking the show

If I can watch the show when it airs, I do.
The only times I’ve ‘missed’ an episode the power was out for the county and I was really glad to have leaked eps to stay up to day.
Since my power has been back I watch as they air (usually while working on projects) after watching the leaked episodes earlier to work on icons from.
Anyone that really loves Degrassi and goes to the trouble to download leaked eps can at least bolster the ratings numbers when the ep airs. …exceptions given if your power is out or you were kidnapped by pirates.

Does anyone but me find it odd that Alli was the one talking to Jenna in the beginning? Didn’t Alli hate her since Jenna appeared on the show? I mean besides the whole HPV scare that Alli had, they’re pretty much rivals. Their friendship (in my thoughts) ended when KC and Jenna got together, because of the way Alli acted towards her. I think it would have been better if Clare or Ms. Oh was in the classroom when she tried on the skirt. If Clare was there, I know she would have thrown in something like “Gee, makes you want to change your image, doesn’t it?” Well Those are just my opinions. I just thought it was strange. OH! And Wesley.. He’s just a random character whom I believe will never get any story line….ever. I bet his highlight of being on Degrassi was touching Clare’s boobies.
And off topic…again. Anyone think its strange how Leia is supposed to be in just the first half of season 10, but she hasn’t appeared in a single episode yet? Its almost at the halfway mark of the Boiling Point and she hasn’t appeared…strange.
And who else is excited for Adam?!?!? Adam better be in Degrassi till senior year, and they better not just cut him out of the show in a vaguely obvious way, like dying during a sex change surgery, or leaving Degrassi because people don’t understand that he’s transgendered.
And Fiona’s piggy, I hope it isn’t just gone in the next episode like Marco’s ferret. And I better not see Fiona eating bacon! lol

I have a feeling Wesley will eventually have some storyline. Just how darcy started off as just some other cheerleader, then she faced all of those problems. Something will probably happen with his family, or he’ll have something wrong with him.

Yeah you’re right, Darcy went through some crazy stuff. But here’s another useless character: Chantay. She was ‘just another cheerleader’ like Darcy, but she still hasn’t had any major thing happen to her. And I hate the way so is. I liked the idea of her being a gossip blogger, and thought it would get her into major trouble, but it hasn’t.
But her being the Power Squad captain this year, there’s bound to be some sort storyline the writers have up there sleeves.

On the ‘useless characters’ thing. We have 48 episodes, 22 characters, and generally over three plots focus centers on… 8? or so? Leia almost certainly will have a plot when we see her, Chantay probably will have a plot because she’s a senior, probably just waiting for more build up with HeatherDegrassi twitter. Wesley is a 10, he can be background ALL SEASON before he becomes valuable next season. You know that thing everyone complained about not happening with all the new cast in S8 who had no set-up before introducing them. Leia probably will make her appearance in week four, if I were to guess. Around then Anya and Chantay might get a bit more of a limelight (again in Anya’s case).
On the Alli and Jenna front. Alli is trying to use Jenna for popularity. Alli used Jenna to stand up for her with the cheerleaders, so the two of them using each other for various moral supports isn’t surprising.

I loved this episode.I think the character who plays adam is doing a brilliant job. My brother who only wacthes it with me and doesn’t know much about it was wacthing with me last night and he had no idea that adam was a girl. When Adam broke the car my brother said…”why would they give that big thing to the smallest guy.” Ha! I’m not going to spoil it for my bro though. But that makes me realize that Adam is beliveable as a guy…we can’t see it because we know already.

It may sound silly but the one thing i learned about degrassi is that…every thing leads to something bigger, nothing is done or said without a purpose.
And you guys have to admit, the way Jenna took K.C’s mom side was very natural…dare i say, a mothers instinct.
And needless to say, she’s gaining weight and taking diet pills and trying to lose weight BECAUSE…she doesn’t know her own secreat.
And she’s super emotional and sensitive now.

Emma’s main plot of eating disorder was better, but the set-up for it was out and out non-existent.
Toby’s had no set-up either, but it could be omitted due to the character type making it easy.
Jenna’s set-up was every plot before now she appeared in. Go back and look her every plot shows her discomfort with her body little by little. Her worries and fears she isn’t good enough, if only slightly. We’ll also have to see if this problem persists.
Which was the big problem with Emma’s is it got like one mention after it ended.

I too excited about this ep. It just felt…flat to me. Jenna’s plot wasn’t as interesting as I hoped. Same thing with Sav’s. I have a feeling it’ll get more exciting in the next part.
I’m really glad we got to meet Adam! He’s so cute. I think I’m going to like him.
Fiona was my favorite part of the episode. I’ve really grown to like her and I felt really bad for her, yet happy for her when she found a pet. It was adorable the way her eyes lit up when she saw that pig.

I personally wasn’t that interested in any of the plot lines. Particularly Jenna’s, because I don’t like Jenna at all. I mean, really. She can just steal someone’s boyfriend and everyone’s all friendly to her, but other people do it and they’re social outcasts? Just because she can sing doesn’t mean she’s a goddess.
And agreeing with someone up there, I thought it was really weird that it was Alli talking to her. And Alli watching her music video, for that matter. Guess shallow minds like company.
But, overall, it wasn’t a really bad episode. For one, I was glad to finally get to see some Adam. He is adorable.
I thought Fiona’s storyline would have been better if they’d given it more time to develop. As it was, it was kind of crashed in between the other plots. But I do feel bad for her. And I do think it was cute that she got a pig. :) Bet her mom’s gonna love that.

1)The person posts sketchy links (like dummies were doing earlier for the episodes)
2) It’s a vulgar attack by a user toward another user. And then I just delete all posts involved because there’s no point in having random comments still up.
I’ve said this before (I guess no one was listening) that the SPAM filter for this site is ridiculous and sometimes doesn’t let innocent comments through. I have no control over that. I have it set up to where people can post FREELY after I approve the very first comment they ever post here (to avoid a massive spam attack from a noob). If I were so uptight about what people posted, I’d just make it to where I had to approve EVERY single comment before it showed up on the site.

Worst part about this episode: Sav’s dad. Someone on the last thread pointed out that he was a dick, and I agree. However, I specifically found it outrageous that he was mad at Sav for the broken taillight. It was a mistake, Sav fixed it with cash out of his pocket, and most of all, he told the truth about it.
Even worst part about this episode: Why was it integral to have the object these kids are touching be Sav’s dad’s brand new car? Could they not have used any old car? A lazy plot device, in my opinion (though I may have missed something. Was there a particular reason he needed it to be the truck?)
Best part about this episode: I agree that it was awesome that random characters were hanging out and being friends, unlike the cliques of seasons past. However, the best part was the way it happened. Sav was talking with Peter (suddenly the wise character of the show now that Spinner is gone?), and Peter says something along the lines of “Dude, stop thinking you’re so cool, I bet those kids are just looking for a friend.” Sav didn’t just randomly start hanging out with kids. There was motivation there. I liked it.
Weird part about this episode: They say after a while, pets start to look like their owners. Fiona is halfway there.

so, looking at the promo for part 2, i am ridiculously happy that anya is going to be involved in jenna’s storyline. “so, you’re taking pills that aren’t even yours that claim to do something that isn’t even possible?” looks like anya will be the voice of reason/supportive friend for jenna, playing the same type of role that she did in “In Your Eyes” for riley.

I adored the episode. I think that Adam rocks! I like the fact that everyone on Degrassi is touching a subject that they haven’t done before- it spices it up for people who are like still watching the show. *Your an old-time Degrassi watcher if you remember Melanie and Kathleen.* I’m also really interested in the Eli–Claire thing. I want to see how that works out. Is is it just me or is anyone excited for the Try Honesty episodes?

Those two were my favorite characters! Melanie was always the voice of reasoning. I love Kathleen she always had drama in her life like eatting disorder/ drunken mother/ a dad that was never around/ a girl who didn’t have many friends/ an abusive relationship with her first love. It was just heart breaking to see all that happen to her. But she was an amazing charcter and actress.

Wow. You all realize that watching a leaked episode is basically stealing from the Degrassi production team, right? It’s definitely not-at-all fair to them that they’re losing ratings because people are watching downloaded versions of the episodes.
If you don’t have TeenNick or Much, watch it on MTV or at TeenNick’s or MuchMusic’s website. At least they get some revenue from ads. So you’ll have to wait a few hours, a small price to pay to save the show from cancellation as a result of low ratings.
We get a new episode every weeknight… don’t lose your head.

Besides, if you watch them on the TV, Degrassi gets better ratings. The ratings probably dropped from the amount of people who watch the episodes before they come out and not on TV. If you don’t get Teennick, then that’s a little different. Though, MTV plays re-runs of the latest episodes and you could watch them on Teennick’s website.
I just don’t think its fair to the Degrassi cast/crew. Aislinn tweeted about how upset she was when she found out that the Clare/Eli episode was leaked. I think that we should respect them. They work hard on the show, just to have them leaked…

I actually really loved the Fiona subplot. I don’t know why but there was this huge smile on my face when Fiona randomly got the pig.
Sav’s plot was pretty awesome though. Can’t wait to see what happens!
I want to see what happens to Jenna with the pills but the rest of the subplot didn’t really keep my attention for some reason…and I’ve actually felt Jenna’s pain once and usually it’s easy for me to get attached to Degrassi plots where I get what it’s like.

I don’t really have to say anything about it, besides that I think Jenna is being wayy too self-conscious. Sav should have just said nothing was wrong with the car, because he fixed it all up, and that I find it really cute that Fiona got a pig. I can’t wait to see how people will react to that. =P

I don’t get why people think that Adam’s actress is trying to hard. That’s the point! Adam made that “ex-girlfriend” joke to try to fit in, but failed awkwardly. I think that this is setting up for Adam’s storyline. He tries hard to fit in with the boys to hide the fact that he’s really a girl. But he ends up getting slammed into a glass door. :(
I love Adam and Eli so much. Hopefully they’ll be like the new JT and Toby. Add Claire to the little misfit trio and it’ll be perfect.

– It’s basically a more epic version of Drive from Season 2.

For the love of God, Jenna and KC have absolutely the WORST chemistry that has ever existed on this show.
In part 2, the scene where KC confronts Jenna about how he loves her body would have been better if there was just chemistry. But KC is so damn awkward and the actress that plays Jenna sucks.

omgggggggggggggggggggggggg. it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. cant wait to read kary’s reveiw. but ill do a mini one. Savs plot was soooooooooooo goood. i give it an A. maybe i love it so much cause i can totally relate to it. my parents sooo strict maybe stricter than his. so i loved itttt. jenna’s plot was ok. i liked where it was going and writing was great. just didnt like jenna’s acting. it was kinda just there. and i loved the end when KC was like i love her hands, ur arms, ur neck. it was soooooo sweet just wish it was declan saying it to holly j instead of Jenna. i give it a c. i loved the fiona and the pig. this plot really established holly j and fiona’s reltionship. i give it a B. cant wait for next episode. im obbsessed with declannnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!! hope it leakes tonight. and srry for the spelly, grammer mistakes.

Did anyone else want to vomit with that end scene of KC and Jenna? I understand he was being sweet, but any other person, really.
Also, I see via the descriptions that they’re still going to continue with Jenna’s “weight” issues, which is good for consistency.

OMG!!!! I just saw part 2 of this and Jenna is sooooooo pregnant. When she was talking with Alli she was having a banana with ranch dressing. That is so the sign of weird food cravings so i guess she has many secrets with her. Can’t wait to see her reaction to being pregnant. Also i love Fiona having a pig. She is now one of my top 5 fav. degrassi characters.

you could be right and it also says for the part two of that episode Jenna faces her biggest fear. That could mean having a baby. To make matters worse it could also mean KC might leave her just like her Mom did so Jenna might be facing a tough decision whether or not to keep her child.

the lack of info scares me, leaves space for a lot to happen. WHAT WE know is Bianca invites Drew to the boiler room so something probably involving drugs or drinking (knowing Bianca happens)
MAYBE whatever takes place sets Drew back a year and he is in the same grade as Alli. HOPEFULLY whatever they are doing makes Riley or (insert ur fav character like ELI) have to repeat a year :P

jenna is probably preggers. sudden weight gain and food cravings are some of the signs. Also, Munro mentioned in a video that we can expect pregnancy to be featured this season. unless he was referring to Anya’s fake pregnancy, it’s jenna. :O

I’m also learning to control myself when Eli shows up. I went from screaming and smiling and gasping and claping all at once…. to just squealing like a 10 year old ^_^.
I also just noticed, ever since Clare got into Eli, Alli sort of forgave Jenna for stealing KC away, and is now the friend that Alli always wanted.
And I almost cried when Sav was confessing to his parents. It was so touching…tear.
Also, I’m kinda upset that Eli isn’t a little more on the stereotypical emo side… He’s really awsome and all and I still love him, but COME ON, I need an emo kid please! Degrassi always has tht person u cud relate to, mine was Elli, but now that she grew out of her teenage years… I need someone else.

I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself is the worst of the season so far. Other than Fiona & Adam, i didn’t care for either episode.
So looking forward to Try Honesty though,can’t wait to see the Eli/Fitz drama

I completely agree but I thought Fiona was useless for that episode as well. Who goes out to buy a pig because they are lonley and who would bring it to school? It just doesn’t make any sense to me. Also she preferred to not have any friends and she grew up moving all the time how could she be lonely?

You obviously missed the whole point of the “Fiona” plot….she’s been lonely her whole life….ie:The Declan situation…now that he’s not there she’s really gotten even more lonely & desperate for ANY attention what so ever. So it wasn’t “random” it actually made sense….and it was a continuation from her last plot.

I actually didn’t miss the point of the whole episode. I said the point in my comment but I happened to not like it. I didn’t know that if you didn’t like something that happened you weren’t aloud to say it? If Fiona is that desperate for attention and tired of being lonely why doesn’t she try doing stuff at school that will get her attention or make friends. Just because Holly J is busy she goes out a buys a pig and brings it to school. She doesn’t even get in trouble for bringing it to school. IMO I think they could have left that part out of the episode and focused more on either Jenna or Sav’s plots or actually do something to try to develop Fiona’s character a litttttle bit more.

Hey guys I know the ep probably won’t leak b/c that guy is out of town or whatever, but I get home from work at about 10:00 EST so I’d like to request again once someone has seen this ep if they could put it on Zshare (megaupload doesn’t work for me, I have a mac). We currently don’t have DirecTV or Cable or anything, so I always have to watch the eps from TeenNick and if it’s not posted 2nite I will have to wait until the morning which would kill me.
