You know they did this so we’d spend the next month chewing over what it all means, right? Below are my SPECULATIONS (as in don’t go around believing what I say below is 100% fact…I could be completely way off base) for what’s in store for Season 10:

Drew vs. Riley
Riley is THE star athlete at Degrassi and it looks like he may have competition from Drew for that Alpha spot. Throw in Riley’s insecurities about being openly gay, and this could be a heated rivalry.

Adam is transgendered
I believe we can all agree on this…it’s great they’re bringing a completely new issue into the fold.
–
Bianca: The girl who makes boyfriends disappear
Jenna was supposed to be a boyfriend stealer in season 9, but it wasn’t all that effective of a title for her. She made it clear that she liked KC, but HE was the one that broke up with Clare for her…it wasn’t like Jenna stepped in and was like “KC is mine, I’m taking him” with a cold-hearted attitude. Maybe Bianca can be that girl.

Anya: The two-faced girl
This is the most surprising. Looks like they’ve decided to flip her character around and make her a bad girl…and the snake is a perfect touch. How bad will she be?

Jenna: The girl who doesn’t know her own secret
I haven’t the slightest idea what Jenna’s secret could be. But apparently it’ll cause trouble for her and KC. And even if they break up, I’m currently not seeing KC and Clare quickly getting back together.

Fitz
With Bruce and Johnny gone, Fitz has been promoted to official school bully (with Conor, Wesley and Dave as his main targets).

Clare and Eli
I wanna assume they become a couple. AND I wanna assume that they become the Caitlin and Claude (Degrassi High reference) of DTNG. Oh, and that whole death thing? I wanna believe that it’s a suicide at the school like in “Showtime” (another Degrassi High reference)…hence the lockdown.

Alli and Drew
Dave likes Alli (the setup for that began in Why Can’t This Be Love). Alli likes Drew. Drew likes Alli (who has somehow propelled herself to popular girl status). Dave loses.

The good news: Fiona gets a storyline. The bad news: it’s about her getting abused in some way, shape or form.

Adam’s stuff was good, maybe someone is going to die, Fiona is going to get abused, sounds like a lot of stuff to look forward to.

yeah, i am totally perplexed as to where declan went. but in bigger news, we now know something about the new characters: bianca’s the “girl who makes boyfriends diappear”, eli is a love interest for clare (and a pretty interesting-looking one, at that, altho that might just be the carnival’s fault), drew’s gonna be stealing riley’s thunder and hooking up with alli (much to the displeasure of dave, it seems), and adam is DEFINITELY transgender.

I saw the grey’s anatomy finale too and all i can think about now is death. Alot of you were talking about there possible being a suicide this season and clare’s prediction didn’t set me at ease. I love that they finally brought a transgender character in. I already know i’m going to love adam. I didn’t see zane either. Where was he? Hooray, Bianca might be the next manny santos we all need to cause some serious drama! I really didn’t like Jenna this season but after seeing how terrified she was when K.C. saw the sign behind them, i love her now and am scared of what will happen. Fiona’s going to be abused? For some reason i think it might be fitz, who she gets together with. don’t know why but just a feeling. How dare Drew step in and steal alli from dave? I think alli and drew look good together but still. can’t wait for this season!!!!!1

did anyone else catch the symbolism with anya having a snake? as in the garden of eden serpent (not meaning to sound religious or anything, but that is the symbolism of a snake). im just really pleasantly surprised that tv people are deep enough to put in that kind of symbolism, since probably a lot of the viewers wont get it :)

i mostly agree. i was expecting a lot more from it. especially when mrs. coyne says, “We’re going home!” and fiona says, “Back to Manhattan?” i was like, what? since when are they from manhattan? i think it should have at least been mentioned some time earlier in the season, cause it felt really REALLY random. but i am interested to see what happens in DTM that will force declan and fiona to come back to degrassi.

Riley hasn’t graduated yet (he was a junior in season 8-9) & Declan is still there….and new lesbian i don’t think thats the topic their trying to cover with “adam”. and i don’t think its the final season, i think their trying to atleast let claire’s class graduate first…but nothing is set in stone when it comes to show’s longevity.

I agree with everything you just said, except I’m pretty sure that Riley is a senior and is supposed to graduate this season, but seeing as he’ll be back for Season 10, I’m guessing they’ll find a way to keep him from graduating; possibly being credits short, due to the fact that he did get removed from that lifeguard class. But I’m just guessing, however the good news is that whether he’s a senior or not, he’s in Season 10! :)

I think it’s Fitz vs. Riley, Fitz at the dunk tank, and Drew kissing Alli. The guy kissing Alli has softer features than the guy in the first two parts. It’d help if there was more variety among the characters, sheesh!
Also, no Zane = </3 :(
But I think that if Zane had been included in the promo, TV/computer screens would have been at risk of exploding from so much cuteness. :) So it's better that he was not included.
I hope that Zane isn't just a quick plot device to get Riley to be open about his homosexuality…

lol, i dont really remember where lockdown was on the promo, but my school has “lockdown” drills. this is where everyones forced to remain in their classrooms, because of a perceived “school threat” ie; stranger in the building, an accident, possible weapon threat. this may play along with the whole suicide thing, a mix of rick bringing a gun to school, and darcy slitting her wrists in the bathroom.

I agree on the part about Jenna, too. Maybe she falls for Adam, then realizes she still likes her when her true gender’s revealed? Also, does anyone else think Fiona’s faking her bruises? The lyrics for Shark in the Water (the full edition) mention “crying wolf” and she has a little half-smile when she looks into the mirror at the end of her part…

About the Death card Claire reveals: in tarot reading, Death rarely means actual, physical death. It symbolizes sudden, dramatic change (which can include death, but it doesn’t automatically mean that it’s death).
But then again, you can expect the worst when you see “Lockdown”…
Personally, I think that the new school bully, Fitz, will target Connor and the rest at first, but then hassle Adam until he discovers his (her) secret, after which his harassment will get a thousand times worse, leading to a “Lockdown”~~

im just gonna post my thoughts on all of the different aspects of the carnival, actually.
riley is able to reclaim his place in the sports highlight, after his battle with sexuality. but a new character is trying to claim that spot as well. for some reason, the look riley gives i think foreshadows sexual tension, but nothing as strong as petley.
this adam transsexual drama is going to be AMAZING. i am so excited for it! im predicting maybe he’ll have a spot at the dot, or maybe he’ll be able to play a female lead in the degrassi drama productions :) (the way they skip so suddenly but briefly into chantay, smiling, i think foreshadows her maybe bullying or at least EXPLODING about adam on the antigrapevine. hopefully, this doesnt transition into a cliche, online bullying suicide plot. :/)
holly the dominatrix! ahahaha, i cannot imagine a “savvy j” plotline at ALL. the way hes all tied up, i feel like he isn’t really into it that much, and hollys basically just messing with him, for her own enjoyment. or, to hurt her former best friend, anya?! :o

anya is not twofaced :/ i dont care what degrassi writers try to say, that is not her character at ALL! anya cannot play with the big leaguers… the addition of the snake makes me think of indian cultures, IE SAVVV :) :) so obviously, one face is for sav, and the other face for…??? but sanya will pretty 100% get revived, in my opinion. she’ll just have something on the side as well.
jenna and KC, yuck. he has his tie undone, or something, but shes still like, perfectly dressed. i DOUBT jenna has an STD, i just dont see her as a full-on slut, just a tease. for some reason i just get these major lesbian vibes from her, like omg. i smell a repeat of marco and ellie early seasons, when their chemistry dies.
mrs kwan, awww an old favorite. :) maybe conors gonna stop being a nerd in school!! :o i really wish they would break him out of that stereotype, get him a biker girlfriend, or something, LOL! hes gonna suffer bully problems though, and i guess his new nerd friends are going to be jerks…as usual, and not stand up for him. (even dave, which is very sad.) this new bully is SMOKIN, though.

Fiona was putting on skin colored make up so she’s probably trying to cover something up rather than make up a lie. But it’d be r4eeally surprising to see her get abused! I never really saw as a character that would let something like that happen to herself!!!

I’d love to see a miserable, pregnant Clare racing down her sister’s footsteps, but the upside-down Death card actually means “a mockery of death”. Something like… if someone dies and their death is laughed about rather than mourned, or if someone dies and no one offers sympathy or consolation — it’s actually worse than the normal Death card. Think “eternal grief”. (Just how dramatic is this season going to be!? I can’t wait~)

I’m going to be naive about it and assume that the writers mean to have us read into it at face value, which is, Eli/Clare get involved romantically and death plays a part in the relationship. Nothing specific about either one of them but it’s about them as a whole.

HALF brothers, I believe. I initially thought that something could be up with her family as well. KC’s parents had a sketchy past. Maybe hers did too, and their paths somehow crossed…but if they were somehow related, I think that it’d be a secret THEY don’t know. I think Drew out shines Riley and becomes the sports hero and the big man on campus. So he basically takes Riley’s place. Adam is a transgender and is a girl pretending to be a guy, hence the mirrors showing her true self. Sav is going to become a player. Hoping from one girl to the next, but Holly J is the only 1 that sticks a knife to him. I think Bianca is going to steal KC away, maybe. And Anya is going to be two-faced by betraying Holly J. Her holding the snake means betrayal and I think its only going to be 1 episode she does something wrong. Its a possibility Jenna becomes a lesbian. She could be attracted to Adam, but come to find out Adam is really a chick. Which means she had no idea she was attracted to a girl. With Claire and Eli, of course they are going to get together but I’ve heard before that her or either Darcy was going to die in a car wreck. How true that is, I don’t know. But death defiantly has something to do with her or Eli. Maybe one of them commits suicide since there have been attempts but no one has actually done that. Ritz is going to be the bully of the school. Leia role is bury to me, seems like she keeps getting drowned out and fading into the background. Ally and Drew are going to get together, but eventually she gives Dave a chance. Fiona is finally going to get a boyfriend but he is going to beat the crap out of her and she tries to cover it up and doesn’t tell anyone. And this will not be the last season, its still so much to go on for DTNG to end.

HOLY CRAP! That’s gatta be the best promo for any Degrassi EVER! I love how Holly J is the Ringleader, more Holly J president/future leader stuff is probably the meaning of that.
My opinions:
Drew is just going to mess with Riley against his alpha rang. Maybe screw with his homosexuality somehow. Maybe Riley’s not 100% out yet, so who knows?
Adam, once i heard of her character i fell in love. I’m taking a guess, because i’m kind of like this, is she’s a HUGE tomboy fighting off being a “girl” sorta. That’s just what i see because i can relate to that in a way.
I think there is nothing going on with Holly J and Sav, because Landon(Declan) had been doing interviews and yeah for season 10 so he’s got to be there. Just like that’s a metaphor for high school is like getting knives thrown at you. And Chantay they just had to throw her pointless character in some where. However, I loved how they edited it so Holly J was slow motion walking when the song goes “There’s a Shark in the water” (maybe she’s the shark. hehe jk) I’ve grown to love Holly J.
Bianca, just another B**** who steals boyfriends and yeah. I have no exitement for her character.

Now, Sav, Sav, Sav… looks like some of Anyas friends anre out to get you. While Anya is off doing, who knows what? Her being two-faced is something I really didn’t see coming.
I didn’t have much interest in Jenna/KC and it was obvious KC would leave her and probably still likes Claire (Claire’s taken) not that she would take him back though. Finally some Jenna secrets, but doesn’t know her own secret? I can really say I have no idea what it could be!
I’m probably least concerned about Bianca. Really who’s still together for her to steal? There’s Danny/Chantya but I never really saw that going anywhere. It’s always problem after problem for them (where Danny usually ends up being the wrong one) Plus does anyone really think Danny is capable of cheating?
Over all I can’t wait for season 10 of course!! XD Oh and nice hair cuts Claire and Chantya! And Riley grew His curls all the way back!!! X3 XD

I didn’t realize how cryptically-worded that was! If she was a boyfriend THIEF, would she make them “disappear”? The wording makes it sound as though she literally makes them go away…to steal their girls, maybe?…and whose boyfriend could she steal, really? I can’t see her stealing KC, as he was “stolen” by Jenna. We don’t know whether Declan and Holly J will still be together in s10. From the guys who are staying on the show, very few of them are currently dating. Plus, the whole “boyfriend thief” thing was done last season with Jenna. Whoa, I think that Bianca MIGHT be queer…I was just watching a behind the scenes clip, and her actress (forgot her name) and Sam are talking to the camera, and Sam says to her, with regards to Jenna’s secret, “I think it’s your fault”. Then she laughs and says, “Yeah, I’m going to take you away from her.”
I don’t think that the actors are allowed to reveal anything THAT specific about the upcoming season. That reminded me of a segment on eTalk shown before season 8 premiered, where Agriris described Riley as a “ladies’ man”, which we now know was a joke. UNLESS she finds something out about Jenna, which causes KC to break up with her, so that she can steal him. But really…ANOTHER KC thief?

Hey, I’m sort of new….well this is not a blog, but here is my take of the promo.
* Drew comes in and steals Riley’s spot as Degrassi’s Star Athlete. Riley is upset but starts liking Drew, who is straight. Zane is concerned.
* Adam is uncomfortable with her girl self and wants to be a guy. As a long time girly girl who can’t but help liking girls. She goes to a new school like Degrassi, and pretends to be a guy so she can go out with girls.
* Anya shows her brutal side and wants to get back at Sav, so she teams up with Holly J. and has Holly J. ruin Sav’s new playa’ attitude.
* Bianca is just one of those new chicks who’s out to get your boyfriend and is kinda hot so she wants to fool ya first. Another possibility is that Bianca could be a lesbian wanting to eliminate all boyfriends so she can get to the girls.
* Clare and Eli become “lovers”. Something will go down and either Eli wants to kill Clare, Clare wants to kill Eli. One of the commits suicide. Or none of them kill each other and they have a struggling relationship. (Basically, like the end of Clare and KC but just they don’t break up)
* KC leaves Jenna after he and a bunch of other people find a huge secret about her. Jenna doesn’t understand why, and doesn’t know her secret. It turns out that Jenna does know her secret but thinks it’s normal when other people don’t.
* Leia is afraid of her own shadow and wants to break out of it before it’s too late.
* Chantay will try to stay in touch with Danny while he’s in college, and let her inner side shine a little bit brighter.
* Connor, Dave, and Wesley are all best friends and they can’t stand getting bullied by Fitz. They set out to prove him that he can be nicer.
* Alli and Drew become a couple, but as soon as Dave thinks him and Alli are finally going to be a couple, Drew comes into play.
* Fiona decides to go back to Degrassi with Declan, but her father wants his little girl with her, he wants to keep her safe. And, if beating on her does this she may have no choice….

Maybe Clare does get pregnant, and Eli makes her have an abortion. Maybe thats why she looks scared and he doesn’t look phased. I think it would be more interesting if it were about him dying though.

I’m not sure if they’ll have Clare get pregnant. I mean they’ve never had a character NOT have sex in Degrassi and who knows she could be the first. And if they do kill off a character they’ll probably not do a lead character, or a popular character that everyone loves. So i doubt it’s going to be Eli.

1) Fakes being abused to get someone into trouble
2) Abuses someone else and then finally feels what it’s like to be abused herself

I personally don’t think anyone is going to die. Remember, the promo’s like to mislead the fans. I think Eli will attempt suicide, but will fail. Or maybe he’s suicidal and that draws Clare towards him. Maybe she feels she needs to help him and they become lovers. I don’t think they would introduce a new 10th grade character (assuming Eli is in 10th grade)just to kill him off. If they go Season 11, which they most likely will, They will need the younger characters to carry on the show after Holly J, etc leaves.
I also don’t think Sav and Holly J are going to become a couple. I think Sav is going to like her and she is going to play games with him (Hence the dagger throwing).
Personally, I could see Bianca being a lesbian. But then again, would they really introduce two new “gay” characters into the show as main characters? That would make a total of 3: Riley, Adam and Bianca.
About Adam, maybe Jordan is supposed to be playing a boy who longs to be a girl. Adam looks in the mirror and instead of seeing himself as a boy he see’s himself as a girl.

Really? I get the ladies man vibe from Drew, because He just has that characteristic about him.
Eli has always seemed more of a darker character because every time we have seem him (or Munro Chambers on the set) he is wearing dark clothing reminiscent to emo/goth type clothing.
And it would make sense that they have Jordon start off with Adam as a boy and then making the character into a female. Which would make sense with the name Adam. It does feel like a rip-off, but at least they are finally giving us the Transgendered storyline.

A lot of people have been talking that Degrassi Season 10 would be the last… With all these new characters, I think they will use the double season to let all of us get to know them. I don’t think this would be the last season… as is the term in sports, this could be a “rebuilding year”.
I am happy to see more of Connor this season! He was funny. Anya is awesome too, she did a great job in season 9. Anya and Holly J are the two strongest characters left.

This will defiantly not be the last season. They might take a break after season 11 but its too many new characters to be over. And about the death thing, it defiantly is a suicide! They never had an actual suicide on DTNG hence the need 4 a lockdown. I think it has something to do with Clare or Eli b/c if anyone else was to die, someone else would have a death card. Most likely its Clare. Maybe she gets depressed over Darcy’s death. And I’ve heard rumors that Bianca’s character would become a lesbian. Besides she hasn’t formed her own identity on the show.

Darcy doesn’t die. That is just a rumor. Clare wouldn’t kill herself. She’s too level headed for that. Darcy will not be back for Degrassi. Shenae is far too busy filming 90210’s 3rd season.

I wish there was somehow a way to get Shenae back on the show for just the season opener. Since she won’t be able to reprise her role completely, they can give us a big shocker. They would show Darcy meeting her family on her way back from Africa and then share her plans for school and stuff. It would be all touching with crying cuz they missed having her around. Then we find out it was all but Clare’s dream. The next day as Clare & her parents await her return, the plane crashes or something and Darcy doesn’t come home. That will set the stage for Clare’s character transformation for S10.

For those who also watch Cold Case. Did anyone else’s mind jump to Episode 9, Season 5 “Boy Crazy” thinking of Adam? I now am starting to get an idea of that Sam(Cold Case) might be who Adam is like. I don’t think Holly J and Sav are gonna have a relationship, because after all. Holly J did throw a knife at them. I actually sense they might have a rivalry of some sort. Like if you really watch the video, after Holly J throws the knife, she smiles (but it’s evil), but then she looks smug taking it out. I think she’s disgusted by him. I definitely sense some conflict between these 2. I don’t believe there will be a relationship.
We’ve heard that Jenna has been a “boyfriend stealer” at her old school. Now, her sexuality hasn’t been revealed and if she’s a virgin or not, but I’m gonna assume she’s NOT a virgin so that my prediction works out. I think Jenna is going to end up having more than an STD, because I feel like any other STD could be curable. I want to go deep into saying she might have HIV. If she had syphilis or something, if it got cured I don’t think it would be something KC would be turned off by. I feel like it’s something more.
The two situations that interest me the most are Clare/Eli and Fiona. Eli just looks to suspicious, and a card said “death”, and I highly doubt that means death in a relationship. Fiona, oh god I just feel so sorry for her.

I’ve watched this promo like 20 times, and this is whaat i’m getting out of it.
– Holly J is still gonna be leader of the school. Which would explain her being the ringleader.
– Riley is held back and is able to keep up his alpha male status, but the new kid Drew is challenging him. Plus I think the new kid Drew is Bi sexual, becuase they only pair him up with Riley in the print ads and hes with Riley in the Promo.
– Adam used to be a girl, but he got suergury to become a guy. And he/she still sees him/her self as a girl so he/she might do something to be more like a guy.
-There might be something going on with Holly J and Sav, but I don’t think it’s them getting together. She might be anger at him, because she throws a knife at him. Which could have something to do with Anya being two-faced.
-Bianca might be a lesbian, because she makes boys disappear, if she’s was gonna be the boyfriend stealer woundn’t make more sense to say makes boys appear. And i’m gonna put Jenna in this too, becasue the secret she dosen’t know might be that she is a lesbian or Bi sexual too. And that would be why KC kinda backed away.
-Anya’s character might change a little this year and be more of a bad girl, which could be because of the Holly J/Sav thing. Who knows I might be worng and they could get together.

-Fitz, the guy who dunked Connor is the new bully becasue Johhny and Bruce are leaving. He was also in the episode Beat it.
-I was confused with Clare and Eli for second because I think I thought to deeply into it. But I think one of them might either kill themselves or someone else, or at least try and hurt someone else. Or “the lovers” card could mean they have love, and i mean “sex” and she gets pregnant, and Eli has her get an abortion or she has a miscarriage.
-Ali, Drew, and Dave love triangle. Which would make it more interesting it Drew was Bi, because it could add more drama. Plus Alli could still be getting over Johnny still, and he could be the rebound, but I think I might be wrong there. Who knows.
-I have been waiting for a Fiona storyline. And I think this one is perfect for her. I think she’s gonna get abused by either a boyfriend, maybe her father, or maybe Fitz, or Riley. Fitz is a bully, and Riley had anger mangament, but I don’t think either really would.
These are just ideas, I could be completely wrong here. But tell me what you think because I can’t wait till season 10 now! And by the way Degrassi is gonna have a nother two seasons has been renewed for a 11th season before it’s up for renewal again, but it’s an extremly popular show so it wont get cancled any time soon.

Well, from what I think, it looks like Holly J is saving Sav. Not literally, of course, but maybe Chantay gets dirt on him or something, like, the almost could be pregnancy with Anya, which would be why she’s throwing knives at him. And maybe Anya is two faced because she tells Chantay what happened, but makes it worse than it is. And just because Clare pulls the death card, doesn’t mean it is her. Perhaps Eli dies. Which is pretty much what everyone’s saying. But how would he die? I don’t think someone would kill him, since they already did that. But maybe the bully does? But—just wondering, I don’t know if it’s true—but doesn the death card have to be about Clare? Fiona’s eye was all in black, what if she dies? Maybe Clare has a hand in her death? ok…ok..ok… here are My thoughts of season 10 (feel free to disagree)after dissecting the promo i got these thoughts and comments
-why is everyone assuming everyone is gay? Degrassi DOES have straight ppl! and if Riley and Zane dont stay together ill be very upset! at first i hated Riley as a gay person but as he became more open and found Zane (who is amazingly HOT) i fell so in love with those two!
-umm another thing Declan better return he is the HOTTEST thing on Degrassi! and him and Holly J are good for each other…

Like everyone’s ideas!!!! As for Degrassi(And TeenNick) I don’t think they would give too much info away in the Promo. I’m thinking that maybe some of the stuff they show involves that character in a certain way, but maybe it doesn’t happen to them. For example:
They show Fiona with a black eye so most people would assume that she is being abused, but I think that would be too much info to give away in a Season Promo. So maybe she is the one abusing someone, but they showed her with the black eye because she is involved with it.

I am sooooo excited about Adam because i was just thinking the other day that they should have one on the show. And the next thing i know there it was!!!!!!!! But omg this is the best promo ever!!! At first i thought it wasjus a plain music video but now it has a meaning. Very clever!!!!!! Cudos to the guys who made this. Anyway this is how i feel about the storylines 4 next season:
1. Riley Vs. Drew: Technically i dont enjoy anything with Riley and/or sports so this one i could care less about. But Drew is super hot!!!!!
2.Adam as a trangender: As i have said b4 I am soooooooo overly excited about this storyline. I wonder how this will play out. It is too interesting
3. Sav/Chante/Holly J: I dont understand this but Sav looked fine but i wonder what is bothering him. Kary do you have aby ideas about this???
4.Bianca:I wonder whose bf she will steal. Kill her off immediatly. Not interested in any mean boyfriend stealers
5.Anya: Yes!!! Finally Anya has a bad side!!! I already loved Anya as a character (even though she mad some stupid mistakes) but still its gonna b nice to see she has some backbone
6. Jenna and KC: Despite all of the hatred toward them. I do not hate Jenna because basically she did NOTHING wrong. KC came on her not the other way around. And she neva was lyk hahaha claire, kc is mine. She wanted to still b friends. But i really wanna know what her secret is cuz it cud spice things up.
7.Fitz: I know i wont like him(along with Bianca) nobody messes with my boy Dave and if he teases/bullies him i will automatically hate him. Not interested with him at all.
8.Claire/Eli: Omg Claire luked so different and pretty. Keep it up girl!!!!! Anyway yes Eli is hot too. Hope they get together. In your face KC. But who will die? Who do you think Kary? i think it wont be a new character. Maybe a person who was on there for a while. Interested n this too
9.Dave/Drew/Ali: I am wondering where this love story will take us. I dnt like Ali but maybe Dave came tame her. I want them to be a couple really bad. Drew is getting in the way. I dont lyke that. But i am still interested.
10.Fiona:All i gotta say is FINALLY THIS GURL GETS A STORYLINE!! She was sooooooooo boring last season. Who will abuse her?? interested in this too.

With the few seconds I saw of Clare and Eli I’ve come up with this: They become a couple(an actaul teenage couple,that doesn’t try to act too mature) ,fall in love,and Clare finds out Eli has a desiease that’s killing him,he has come to terms with it…but Clare has trouble accepting it.

wow . . . terrific theory! it just occurred to me that degrassi has never covered terminal diseases. sure, they’ve done cance and such, but everyone always recovers. it would be great to see a character really struggle with knowing that they’re gonna die (or, according to your theory, NOT struggle)

I’ve also have come up with a decent Jenna prediction(the hardest to predict) Jenna and KC have sex,and afterwards someone convinces KC that Jenna’s pregnant,and KC being the jerk he is dumps her,without Jenna having any idea why.
My Drew vs. Riley thing has me conflicted. Either Drew become the next Degrassi jock,or he gay bashes riley,or Zane.
Adam is born with both parts,and has to make a decision

I don’t think Leia is going to commit suicide, but I do think she’s going to die. Still, it must have something to do with Claire and Eli, because otherwise they wouldn’t be in the clip. Did you notice Eli’s face when Claire pulls out the death card? He doesn’t look nearly as worried as she does…
I’m excited about any possible story line involving Fiona, as well. So far she’s only had one side.

this promo was sooooo freaking amazing!!! ive watched it like 20times!!! its so good! with every time i watch it i get different questions and comments! the last time i watched it i was really thinking about Clare and Eli!!!! i love what they did with Clare! she looks so awsome!!!!! i really hope she gets to be with Eli! but i noticed that with the lover card he looks as if he knows which i didnt care about but with the death he doesnt seem upset or concerned but clare does!!! i think maybe he knows something she doesnt!

For all the people looking at the Death card:
In tarot the Death card (if seen upright) symbolizes a transformation or a transition from a state of humility to a state of exultation. If seen downward is a transition from a state of superiority to a state of inferiority.
Maybe it’s showing a play on how Clare is finally taking a stand for herself (from the end of “In Your Eyes”) and going from a humble character to becoming a more confident one.

My guess with Leia is she is going to be shown no more than she was in season 9 and they’ll have a simple way of writing her off or just not mention her again.
I’m guessing Eli is going to bring out a new side of Clare and maybe it will be simaler to Caitlin and Claude. I’m not sure if they’d actually have him commit suicide but maybe he’ll attempt to and they will have to close down the whole school to stop him.
I’m still not sure about Jenna I would say intersex but IDK. It seems like with Adam having a transgender story they might not have another story that is even a little simaler going on at the same time. I’m guessing she was born with HIV.

Im getting chills! I’ve been watching Degrassi sense I was 9 or 10 years old!(maybe even younger) And I’m 15 years old now. Degrassi has always been one of my fave shows of all time. I cannot wait for the new season or the movie. LOVE IT!!!!!!

okay, the wheel ends at lockdown which means there will be a lockdown at the school. the last time that happened was when jimmy was shot. so that means someone will have to be killed or commit suicide in the school during school. so someone will probably get killed.

okay honestly, everyone has amazing ideas. and im guilty of reading all these comments, trying to get a better understanding of the new season.
MY thoughts are that…
1. Jenna and KC
everyone seems to think that jenna is a lesbian, but she makes no note of it at all. i think it WOULD be interesting if she was, but it’s so.. farfetched and she seems completely in love with KC in season 9 so I don’t think it would happen. maybe she’s bi? mostly likely not. It’s obvious they’re gonna break up though. I like the idea that there’s a rumor going around that she doesn’t know about. I heard one story that they were actually related? Umm… talk about drama haha. the one I’m going with is that she has an std, because i don’t think shes a virgin, probably because of her rep at her old school.
2. Bianca
she’s a new character so shes still a mystery to me. A lot of people are saying that she’s a lesbian, and I think that’s cool, because right now on the show, they only hav two gay guys. But “disappearing” is something carnival/magicians would say, so maybe it doesn’t mean she’s actually making them disappear, like everyone thinks. i love the ideas, but does anyone think it’s more simpler than that?
3. Fiona
okay, my idea is that she’s being abused by her dad. they said we would see mr. coyne in this season. maybe her mother finds out and that triggers the divorce, putting declan and fiona back in degrassi high. someone said declan was abusing her, less likely, declans such a sweetheart, especially to his sister. hence the line “if you’re not happy, i’m not happy” that he said to his sister. fiona being a lesbian seems realistic, but i don’t think they would put ANOTHER gay person in there.. especially with adam already being put in.
4. Eli and Clare
I think the best idea I read was that Eli was dying of a disease and Clare is in love with him… and she doesn’t handle the news well. That explains why he doesn’t seem concerned at the death card and she does. Though, a lot of people have said that she may hav been pregnant with his baby and got an abortion or a miscarriage. first of all, that’s completely out of clare’s character to have sex, and also her family’s religious so an abortion is not likely. Suicide? Maybe, Eli seems a little dark. Leia is not a very strong character, and killing her off would be lame since there’s no actual reason for it… unless they introduce some dark past Leia had.
5.Riley vs. Drew
it’s a simple plot. They’re both competing for the best jock. I don’t think there’s any gay bashing on Drew’s part, and I don’t think Drew is bisexual in any way.
6. Alli/Drew/Dave
to tell you the truth, I’m not liking Alli/Dave that much, but I think Dave makes Alli act more her age. Alli tries to much to be more mature, and I think Dave brings back her innocence. Drew seems like a character that doesn’t really benefit her.
7. Adam
I love this story line, mostly because a person that lives near me committed suicide because people were teasing him about being transgendered. I like how they added this character. I think that Adam was either a girl longing to be a boy, but can’t convince herself that she’s now a male. OR that she’s a boy that actually is going to become a girl. I use “she” because the gender of the actor that plays the role is a girl.
8. Sav and Holly J and Anya
umm… I don’t think there is any attraction between these two despite what ANYONE says. I think they would make a horrible couple, and it seems as though Holly J is more amused with Sav then actually in love with him. Plus, they can’t just kill off Declan, I mean, he gave her his grandmother’s bracelet and they said they loved each other. I predict that they’ll be a long lasting couple. Anyways, back to the point… I think Holly J and Anya will team up against Sav for whatever reason.
9. Fitz
I don’t see much potential in the character… just another bullying problem in the school. big deal. i DO hope that connor, wesley, and dave will stand up for themselves though. come on! it’s 3 vs. 1, they need a backbone!
10. the wheel
Lockdown’s in black, while the other categories alternate in black and white. I’m not sure it will be a suicidal event, but something big is going to happen at that school.
11. Peter, Danny, Spinner, Jane, Declan, etc.
I know for sure that Peter and Declan signed up. And I’m pretty sure that the rest did too. I mean Danny right now is in a relationship, and since Chantay is in season 10, he can’t just leave her. Spinner and Jane. Jane’s graduating, it would be weird if she wasn’t at the Degrassi graduation. Spinner loves her, it’s not like he’s gonna leave her. Oh that reminds me… I think Spinner might find out about her and Declan’s affair. Break up? Hmmm… and also, Peter’s graduating… he can’t leave. DECLAN, he’s the reason I started watching again. I stopped watching at season 8, realizing all my favorite characters were being bombed off the show, but I started watching again because of that guy :). He signed up, so he HAS to come back to Degrassi.. like my Fiona prediction. But they said he wasn’t in the promo for a reason, probably the same reason the others weren’t included…. Gosh, the anticipation is killing me.

But I’m gonna break it down to what have got out of everything.
First I’m gonna put it as this, Alli is the new manny. The whole her and dave situation reminds me of manny and jt. Jt was obsessed with Manny but manny was obsessed with cool bad boy craig. So I’m guessing the Alli, dave and drew situation could possiblybe similar?
Claire is the new Emma, with alittle mixture of her older sister Darcy considering the whole no sex before marriage thing. Either KC or Eli is the new Sean. Any who, I think both cards apply to Claire and Eli since they were the ones who drew them. I think they fall in love and either he does have an illness or she gets pregnant and has an abortion. Which was my first thought, and I know Claire doesnt seem like that kind of person but who ever thought Anya would be labled the two-faced girl? lol.
Speaking of Anya and her new title I guess it would kind of make sense after her and sav broke up. Her entire personality may change due to the bitter feelings left from how her treasured relationship ended.
Jenna and KC, I suppose the only thing that would fit is that she has an STD or some other illness. What other secret could she have and not know? Personally i think you got about everything right amandaplease, but i also have some weird ideas that i can’t let go. Like if the person who plays adam is a girl, why have “her” be named adam, why not make it the other way around with a girl name for the transgender. Maybe, and im really just throwing this out there cause i dont know if this has been confirmed or not, but what if “Adam” is a transvestite (someone who dresses up like someone of the other gender). Even i know that sounds stupid but i also think they could make some weird little plots with that.
As for eli i personally think that clare is going to fall in love with him… but then fall out of love with him for some reason, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to stop loving her. Maybe he goes all “if i cant have you nobody can” and comes after her, with a gun, at the school. That would explain why he’s not freaked out by the death card but she is, he’s the one who causes the death.
As for Fitz, i actually see a lot of potential in this guy. Just think of spinner back in season 1. He was just a low grade bully. Now look at him. I think a lot could happen with Fitz, especially if the lockdown is caused by one of those three guys that he’s messing with in the promo.
Honestly though just the thought of season 10 is making me tingle with anticipation. I’m so excited! This could possibly be the best season of degrassi yet.

Well i read i lot of good opinions…. but i kinda see many things can happen since this is DEGRASSI….
Before i say anything im going to say i see this whole thing as a metaphor at what goes on at high school ( like all of you probably do)… Like holly j as the ring leader i thought it was brilliant . Like shes president and she knows how to be in charge.
1. Riley vs. Drew- I see this part as how riley was all football star player and then Drew comes in and takes it away from him. I think it shows how Riley doesnt have the spotlight anymore and its one big competition between them.
2. Adam- Well some people say shes transgendered but i think they mean the term transvestite. I see that part as her wanting to be a boy , but yet still wanting to be a girl. The mirror is showing how she fighting with herself about how she cant decide. She wants to hide that shes a girl by being a boy but yet when she looks in the mirror she sees herself as a girl.
3. Chantay- well even though her part is small… i still see that part showing that she is the entertainer like how last season she was the lead of the musical….( just making connections)
4. Holly J and Sav- I see two things out of this part
a. Sav is hiding something and Holly J knows what it is and shes is torturing him that she knows it.. Like hanging it above his head. Because when she walkes away with the knife he looks worried like… what is she going to do???
b. Sav is doing something …( idk what) and Holly J is the only one to call him out on it (or throw the knife at him)…
5. Bianca- Well her title says “The Girl That Makes Boyfriends Dissapear” ( Only making connections again) … well at carnivals theres magicians and when they say dissapear , they dissapear to us but the magician knows where they are… How i relate this to bianca , shes a boyfriend stealer… The boyfriends Dissapear TO USS but she will always know where they go ….
6.Anya- well her story can go anywhere with the title ” The Two-Faced Girl” She could turn into a total b**** or they can mean her double life… or practally anything
7. KC and Jenna- Well this is like Anya is a one that can be clear… theres many things that could happen… Well I totally disagree about the whole std thing… like i could see how that would work but they way i see things is that doesnt connect very well… I can see the lesbian thing going on but by the way jenna looked on the promo like she doesnt get what she did or why hes leaving her, im going with a rumor about her. Maybe it connects with Bianca since shes the boyfriend stealer like she could start it … theres many possibilities.
8. Fitz/ Leia/ Wesley/ Dave/ Connor- this would couldnt be anymore obvious Fitz is the bully and Wesley Dave and Connor are the victims… I dont know exactly what leia was doing there but most likely she wants to change her image..
9. Eli and Claire- This ones the hardest, well I can see many things. I dont exactly think that Eli is suicidal. I dont see that in him, and hes wears black big deal… does that mean hes suicidal…noo. Well the lovers card we understand, its the death card that gets us. But why would Eli die he was just put on the show that would make no sense. But also death can just mean an end of something or a change (claire and kc). But yes it could mean actual death. It could be someone trying to kill one of them… someone whose jelous or it could be someone just angry. Or it could be a disease… ( i know this is totally bizarre but i can also see KC getting jelous after he relizes he made a mistke on leaving claire and then considering to kill eli…. Just saying it could happen IT PROBABLY WONT!!)
P.S Am i the only one who noticed this theres a live white horse on the loves card and a horses corpse on the death card…. it could mean something or maybe not i just found it ironic…
10. The love triangle of Drew/ Ali / Dave- Well its obivous whats going on .. dave likes ali but drew beat him to her ….
11. Fiona- Shes shown with a black eye and trying to cover it up with makeup…. I know its something to deal with abuse … It could be someone else or abusing her, or i had the thought she could be abusing herself… i’ve seen the look she gives at the end before with a situation of someonee abusing themselves… either way the situation definately involves abuse…
12. The wheel of Fortune- It was definately going to land on lockdown…. but yet that can go along with some of my theories… we just can never know…

OK, so most people don’t know anyone whose transgender. And a lot of people don’t really know anything about transgender people. Even well-meaning, smart people can say some pretty nasty things without even knowing it. If you don’t learn it, you can’t know it, right?
Hopefully, Degrassi will use its new character Adam to educate people, and I think they’ll do a great job, but until then, here are some things you should know:
1.) Transgender people (transsexuals) are people whose gender (mental) doesn’t match their outer anatomy. For instance, a female to male (aka FTM) transgender man is someone who was born with female genitals and has “Female” on his birth certificate, despite feeling that he is male.
2.) There is some research (not enough) demonstrating that certain regions in transgender people’s brains are much closer to the gender they claim to be. For instance, a male to female transgender person (born with male genitalia) would feel like a woman, despite her male anatomy and parts of her brain would probably be female (probably as a result of hormonal fluctuations in the womb before she was born), though she would appear to be male at birth. In this case, you would refer to her as a woman, or a trans woman if you have to be specific.
3.) It is VERY offensive to refer to a trans woman as a man or to call her “he.” Men don’t like being called “she” and women don’t like being called “he,” regardless of whether or not they’re transgender.
4.) Transgender people are not “pretending to be” anything. They ARE men (FTM) and women (MTF), or boys and girls. If you’ve ever met a trans person, you probably already know that. The idea that they’re pretending to be something is often used as an excuse for murder. It’s also very frustrating and very very hurtful.
5.) A transgender man (Adam is probably a transgender man) cannot be a lesbian because men can’t be lesbians.
6.) Transvestites are people with a fetish who dress up as the opposite sex for a sexual thrill. Transvestites do not consider themselves to be of the opposite gender. A man who wears women’s clothes as a transvestite is still a man, and vice versa.
7.) Cross dressers are people who dress up as the opposite sex for fun. They like to express their masculine or feminine sides from time to time. A woman who cross dresses in men’s clothes is still a woman.
8.) Transgender people REALLY DON’T LIKE BEING COMPARED TO OR MISTAKEN FOR TRANSVESTITES! Sorry to be obnoxious, but we REALLY hate this.

I have no idea but my best guess is Drew comes to the school creating competition for all the guys (Riley, Dave and possibly more people) bc he’s hot ! :) And Maybe a fight between him and Riley. Anya may tell Holly J something about Sav making her Two faced and Making Holly J mad at Sav making a near death experience possibly :) but just to scare you. From what I hear Leia is leaving halfway through the season, so a possible suicide or school shooting hence the lock down. I think Jenna’s secret is she slept around with people at her old school, and it may happen with her and Kc since on the spin wheel it says you know.., and possibly she had an Std and Biancca tells Kc about her reputation which makes her boyfriend disappear. School bully is would be Fitz. I think everyone agrees Adam is both genders, she/he chooses to be a guy but when he/she looks in the mirror all he/she sees is a girl. Its about time degrassi threw that in. I have no idea what Chantay means in this. But Im Happy Clair gets a new boyfriend. Too bad someone has to die, but if it’s Leia I don’t think it would be too bad theres not much about her on the show anyway.

Ok 1st thing this looks sooo amazing.. 48 episodes wow cant wait. ok the whole death card that claire pulls out i wonder if it is foina she is dealing with her being beaten ans abused and maybe she cant deal with anymore and she kills herself i wonder the bf stealer is gonna steal one of the girls bfs or she gets rid of them to get with the girls. jenna secret might be that she is going to be with Adam.. idk or maybe she has a diaese and the whole alli thing she will get a new bf after her and johnny broke up. now anna being two faced is something else remember when she tells sav at the end that she was being rude to get him back and he says no i think she is mad and going to be the old holly j and be the biggest bitch

Do you guys think that the transgendered person is someone born a girl, wanting to be a guy or vice versa?
If you think about it, in the promo, Adam looks like a guy, but then when he looks in the mirror, he sees a girl.
i realize that the actor, Jordan, is a girl. But if Adam is supposed to be a person born a guy, wanting to be a girl, it would be a lot easier to look like a girl if the actual actress was a girl.

has anyone watched teennick lately? cuz they are showing comercials for Degrassi and everything they showed on the promo is now 10 times better(hard to believe i know)! and now i think that Fiona is being aused by a boyfriend im like 98% sure of it!

I think this is what will happen:
Riley and Drew are competing for the top spot.
Adam is a transgender who was born a girl but wants to be a guy.
Theres something between Sav and Holly J OR Sav has a near death experience OR Both
Bianca is taking Jenna’s place as the BF stealer
Anya is now a bad girl because of the whole Sav thing changed her
Jenna has a secret that she doesnt know (maybe a HIV OR STD) which KC gets causing the breakup
Fitz is the New Bully and his 1st targets are Connor Dave Weasly.
Clare and Eli want to be a couple
Dave likes Alli but Alli likes Drew Drew likes Alli so Drew + Alli become a couple
Fiona gets a BF but he abuses her
The wheel stops on Lockdown so something will happen with that (maybe a repeat of the Rick inciddent?)

I seriously can’t wait for this season to start!
All these promos that you have been posting have me begging for more.
After watching both this promo, and the Boiling Point promo, it has left me with lots of questions, that I can’t wait to have answered.
But something tells me that Sav gets killed in this season. Just by the way Holly J is throwing the knives at him in this promo. I really hope I am wrong though, seeing as Sav is one of my favorite characters.
But, Kary, you might be right about an episode being like “Showtime”.
If it is that, I’m thinking maybe Claire goes out with Eli for a little while and then something happens and she never wants to talk to him again and thus repeat of Caitlin and Claude.

i see all this talk about fiona faking her bruises, but in the promo for the boiling point, we see her get pulled by the arm and later slapped? and could the make-up shes putting on be to hide the bruises instead of create them?
and i totally agree with this whole jenna being a lesbian thing. i think bianca and jenna will turn into alex and jenna, so maybe jennas bi?

we now know that adam and drew are step brothers so i think now we r gonna have to see their home lives and parents. we also need to know which parent married who.whether its adam’s mom and drews’ dad or vice versa. also its possible that both parents could be of the same sex. it could be possible that adam was born a girl but raised to believe she was a boy by her parent but this will be interesting.some parents want a boy so bad tht even if its a girl they give it a boy name and whatnot.

Alot of people think Clare or Eli are gonna die.
My theory is that they are trying to hype us up, or trick us with the death card, I personally don’t think they are going to die, maybe a character like leia, who is supposed to leave midseason is killed off, but not Clare or Eli.
It is said that Eli drives a hearse to school, thats probably what the death card has to do with Eli, the fact that a hearse has to do with death and he drives one.

This promo is so different and good I really like what they did with all the new and old characters, hinting at whats to come. I agree I don’t think Eli and Clare will die. The death card could mean anything for instance maybe one of them will come close to dying but not actually die a break up, Eli’s hearse, a change,an attempt at suicide,or they could be involved in the death like an accident or maybe self defense.I don’t think he’s going to be a murderer because they already dealt with murder. It could be as simple as Eli driving a hearse to school because death doesn’t freak him out and he’s obsessed and Clare is a little uncomfortable,thats why he’s calm when she pulls the card to him.Or his parents could be morticians so thats why he drives a hearse for conveinence.

Drew steals Rileys thunder as the school’s biggest athlete
Adam:
Sees her/himself as both man and woman, being transgendered
Chantay, Holly J, Sav:
Chantay allows Holly J to get revenge on Sav for breaking it off with Anya
(Why didnt Sav blink?)
Bianca:
The new character who takes boys from their girlfriends by excessive flirting
Anya:
Becomes bad by either turning on someone or leading them on
KC and Jen:
Jen’s secret is that she is a lesbian and she doesnt want to be because of her love for KC. KC realizes this and leaves Jen, leaving her shocked
Leia Fitz Connor Wesley and Dave:
Trying to make someone out of herself, everyone turns her down making her question her purpose
Fitz takes the ball and chucks it at the ground, portraying anger or hatred. He presses the button sending Connor into the Dunk Tank and then stares at Wesley and Dave with threat. (Notice Connor is not wearing his normal clothes)
Claire and Eli:
Shown at the table, card-dealer Clair deals a card that says ‘the lovers’ and has a picture of a boy and girl under a flowerd arch with a pygmy/sheep underneath
After Eli looks at her romantically she deals a card that says ‘death’ with a picture of a demon with a large scythe and a skeleton horse. Eli shows no fear while Claire seems to be frightened. This tells me that Eli is likely to approach death in some way.
Dave, Wesley, Connor, Derek, Alli:
Dave is seen with Wesley and Connor checking his breath and approaching a kissing booth where Alli is seen. Walking towards her Derek jumps infront of Dave and kisses Alli. This tells me that Dave wants Alli but Derek takes her from him.
Fiona:
Fiona is seen at a makeup dresser and is applying lip gloss, then she takes eye shadow and paints her left eye a blackish-blue underneath. This tells me that she is abused, seeing the sadness in her face. (Note that she is seen doing this from behind the mirror)
Holly J:
J, apparently the ring leader, presents the wheel where the spinner presumably lands on lockdown. If not, betrayal. Holly J, seen as possibly the leader of this carnival, may portray her leadering of the school. I think she is the one who, in the beginning credits, bears the degrassi logo on her shirt.

I have never ever watched degrassi but when i saw Drew, i decided to start watching he is amazing and is like Taylor Lautner, so degrassi prepare cuase watching ecspeccilay you DREW:)

After putting together everything about Jenna’s storylines, I think she’s pregnant. Jealousy is common during pregnancy due to hormones. She is seen stuffing her face constantly, which can mean cravings. Suddenly, she can’t fit into her Power Squad uniform. Next, she ends up sick. Lastly, her worst nightmare is realized.

Ok well as for Eli and Clare if they put a death card it’s b/c it actually means death I mean the writers wldnt put it there only fir ppl who read tarot cards unless tht was the whole point of putting it there to have the viewers thnk? But idk b/c the spinner did also say loss then again it cld mean lots of thngs as well. Why wld they kill off Eli? I’ve been watching the new episodes and he Doesnt seem like the type of person who commits suicide.? I wld hate it if he dies and plus degrassi wld lose alot of fans I’m just sayin….
