Degrassi Nominated For Another Emmy!

While visiting Epitome, Stephen Stohn let me hold their International Emmy. If I look like a weirdo holding it, it’s because I was terrified to drop it!

The Emmy nominations were announced today, and Degrassi was nominated for its second consecutive Emmy in the “Outstanding Children’s Program” category for Extraordinary Machine Part 2.  This year Degrassi is up against “Good Luck Charlie,” “iCarly,” “Victorious” and “Wizards of Waverly Place.”  Normally if a documentary is in this category they’re a lock to win, but since there isn’t one the field may be wide open this year.  Though excluding last year, “Wizards” won Emmy’s in 2009 and 2010 (one for the show and one for the movie).

Congrats to Linda, Stephen and the rest of the Epitome team for their hard work, and let’s hope they pull off a win this year!  The actual Emmy broadcast is on Sunday, September 23rd, but I guess like last year people from Degrassi will be attending the non-televised Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony instead (it’s on Saturday, September 15th). I hope Degrassi wins they deserve it. I wonder if its Extraordinary Machine 2 that was picked. Thats was one of the best next to My Body Is In a cage. Munro, Sam and Jessica did such a fantastic job.

Degrassi has this in the bag. I doubt Wizards will take this away again. Well it all depends on the episode (its probably the series finale). However, Good Luck Charlie might be able to trump Degrassi. It really depends what episode it is.

ICarly and VIctorious never have any semi profound (or fully profound) episodes so they aren’t even a factor right now.

Good choice on the Degrassi team’s part for submitting Extraordinary Machine Pt. 2 for the Emmy’s. Best episode of S11, and I don’t wanna get ahead of myself, but I’ll be shocked if Degrassi doesn’t take it this year.
