i think Jenna’s storyline was waayy better than you said. It was real and it didnt have to be dramatic for it to be good. it was an honest look at teen pregnancy. its a first for degrassi since djh because we never seen anyone exactly after a pregnancy and how they dealt with it.

Kary, Have you heard the recent rumors about Alex Steele possibly coming back to Degrassi in the second half of Season 11? How do you feel about that? Also maybe for the Degrassi Extra you can also answer fan questions to get us more involved :D

Cassie Steele’s (Manny) younger sister who played Craig’s younger half-sister, Angie Jeremiah.

“Eli’s got a cane, therefore he’s a pimp. That also means Imogen will be his ho.”

Wouldn’t THAT be an interesting storyline XD

Ahhh, I still think that my younger cousin would have made the perfect Jake Martin. Same kind of quiet charm, huge appetite, and dry wit. That’s how they breed ‘em in Northern Ontario. Too bad he didn’t have his head shots ready.

The Kenna plot was not bad in and of itself, but I just found it boring. And it should not have been, because it’s a juicy little story with a lot of potential to expand and deepen characters. But Jessica Tyler, while cute as a button, is among the show’s weakest actors, and therefore brings little to Jenna’s character. There’s just nothing compelling about her, nothing that makes me want to watch her.

And we all know how Kary feels about KC. I agree wholeheartedly with his views. This is his 4th season on the show, but I still feel as though he’s a blank slate. Again, there’s nothing about his character that draws me in to his stories.

So it’s sad that the writers took two of the most boring characters on the show, and have desperately tried making them interesting by giving them a baby. I can’t even picture them having sex. Their chemistry is so forced.

And unfortunately, their baby-centric plots are going to force them to be alone with one another, without other people most of the time. I found Jenna the most watchable when she was without KC (ie. in Halo), and interacting with other people (Sav, Holly J) instead. The stronger actors gave her a hand. Hopefully throwing Marisol in the mix may spice things up a bit.

There were parts of LoveGame where Jessica Tyler’s acting wasn’t all that bad, notably when she was telling KC that she needs more from him and when he asked her to move in with him. I won’t lie, it was rather endearing. We’ve definitely seen worse from Jessica Tyler before, that’s for sure, haha. It’s just nice to see them finally humanize Jenna because she was never made to be a likable character from the beginning, haha. But I totally agree with you on Kenna’s forced chemistry, it never feels right or natural to me. I always find myself cringing during their “romantic” interactions. It’s going to be sad for Jenna when Marisol comes into the picture especially after all the effort K.C.’s put into being a good baby daddy this episode, but maybe they’ll finally become interesting.

    Was Imogen in it ?

    • July 20, 2011 at 1:26 pm #

Imogen was not in the hallway scene.

The hallway scene was a really good start to season 11. So much was covered, and we were caught up on just about where all the characters are.

I feel like that scene is going to be talked about for seasons to come. It was really that good!

Hilarious. I loved how you said “Weren’t you telling him to play basketball?” or whatever, I was dying of laughter! And “breastfeed him? Why are you asking me, do I look like the kind of guy women would even let my penis come 10ft near” I was dying.. I love Degrassi Extra, too funny. :)

Kary, is there any chance that you can put degrassi extra on YouTube. It won’t let me watch it on your website.

I wish I could, but can’t because I’m using too many clips from the show…too risky. I got lucky with The Boiling Point last year but I’m sure Viacom will shut down my account in a hurry if I post Degrassi Extra on youtube

Kary, I’d let your penis get within ten feet of me. ;-)

    Oh!……………..

*Mrs. Edwards is horny as hell
cosign, she was so relieved when Clare dragged Jake from dinner

~Eli on anti anxiety pills? That’s gonna lead to great things *sarcasm*
Still Clare needs to realize that it’s capital-O Over.

~KC sounded like he really wanted to get rid of Jenna at “Above the Dot.” with the whole, “I’ll take you home.” and the “Loud music is bad for babies.” thing. I think when Jenna dropped off Tyson with KC, it was a slap to his face for ditching her. :)

~I’m suprised Clare let Jake just kiss her like that!…I wonder if she was fantasising about Eli….

~Lastly, Eli’s Cane is Amazing, he likes to deck him self out no matter what situation! I give him props for that. :)
