Some thoughts on the Second Round/Sweet 16…
Everything went like I thought it would in the Second Round, except for Ziley dominating Cranny. Dr. Chris/Anya making it this far seems like a shocker, but looking at the couples they’ve gone up against I’m not surprised. Jimmy/Ellie is a similar ship like Spanny and Jemma, so I still wouldn’t be surprised if Dr. Chris/Anya won again.
The Holly J couples on the LUKE bracket are on fire. I thought that by this round we’d be looking at a Flare/Fadam matchup. But now we’re getting a mini Holly J championship going on….I’m excited to see whether people like Sav/Holly J or Declan/Holly J more. My money is on the latter.
Jiberty vs. Semma is like a championship matchup in itself. I think whoever wins this will end up making it to the championship round.
A HUGE matchup is Crash vs. Sellie. The winner of this matchup is guaranteed to go up against EClare in the Elite Eight. As much as I like Sellie, I don’t think they stand a chance against Crash. Crash and Semma are the only two couples that I think are capable of providing EClare competition.
Ziley is on a hot streak. I think they can handle Crellie easily. Parcy is my second favorite couple, but I’m not sure who will win their matchup. I can’t really get a mental bead on whether or not people like Parcy or Sparcy more…well we’re about to find out!!

Paige/Alex vs. Spinner/Jane-I really believe Palex has this one, but they’re losing to Spinner/Jane, let’s pull it together.
Dr. Chris/Anya vs. Jimmy/Ellie-I like Anya as much as everyone, but I don’t think her relationship with Dr. Chris has been established long enough to make it this far. Heck, Fadam shouldn’t have gotten this far. (Imo)
JT/Liberty vs. Sean/Emma-Semma is taking this one. This one should be a close call, though.
Sav/Holly J vs. Declan/Holly J-Dolly J is advancing, but next round I’m pretty sure that’ll be a different story.
Eli/Clare vs. Marco/Ellie-I’d love Mellie to win this, but it just isn’t happening. Who can stop Eclare?
Craig/Ashley vs. Sean/Ellie-The current results are shocking, Sellie are pulling out more votes. I love Sellie, but I never expected them to possibly win this round against Crash. No complaints.
Peter/Darcy vs. Spinner/Darcy-Personally, I always preferred Parcy. So I hope to see them advance.
Riley/Zane vs Craig/Ellie-Ziley has this, lol. Not to discredit Crellie, but they don’t look like big compettition.
My ideal Final Four would be:Sellie, Semma, Parcy, and Eclare.
Just wondering what it is about Mellie that you support? I mean, their relationship was never real because well, Marco’s gay, hahaha.
I felt they always had some chemistry, maybe that was just me, lol.
Marco admitted to having certain feelings for Ellie around Season 6 or 7. Just like how a straight person can fall in love with the same gender in rare cases, it is entirely possible for a gay person to have feelings for the opposite gender.
But honestly, I just voted Mellie because it’s not Eclare.
Oh yeah, I definitely believe anyone is capable of falling in love with anyone regardless of gender (because to me, love knows no gender), but I think when Marco and Ellie hooked up in Season 7, that was more of a result of them being overly dependent on each other for everything, including romance (Marco’s words).

Spane vs. Palex was such a tough one for me, but I had to go with Spane. They were my favourite couple on the show. I was livid when they broke up so that Semma could happen out of nowhere.
Huh? I personally think holly j and sav is a horrible couple. I love dolly j, I feel that they have great chemistry together. O well, everyones entitled to an opinion.
I am right with you there. I love Holly J and Sav, they just seem to work for me. And I had a hard time with the Spane vs Palex match up but im coming to realize that I loved Spinner with anybody. He is the ultimate boyfrined and There has not been one match up with him that i did not like……well except maybe Cranny.

Palex should NOT be losing against Spane. It really bothers me, hahah. Does everyone forget that it took almost NOTHING for Jane to cheat on Spinner with Declan? I rooted for Spane up until I started noticing Jane was seriously losing interest in Spinner. Their feelings about each other and their relationship were never on the same level. So basically moral of the story, Palex ftw!
I can definitely see Ziley making it the final four; they’re just one of those couples that everyone loves.
I really, really, REALLY want Jimmy/Ellie to beat Dr. Chris/Anya, but for whatever reason, they’re currently losing… It’s disheartening because Jimmy/Ellie are my favorite would-be couple, and I will always wish something happened between them.
I personally prefer Dolly J because I think they both changed each other for the better and connected on a deeper level than Sav ever has with Holly J. Let’s be honest, although Sav and Holly J have great chemistry together and he has always treated her well, their relationship is essentially superficial and began due to superficial reasons. Although at this current time, I think Holly J should be with Sav because by the end of her relationship with Declan, she was no longer the strong, independent woman she once was, and she lost sight of herself because of her relationship. I can learn to support Sav/Holly J because she doesn’t have to conform to this idea of what she should be in order to be with him.
Oh, and can I just say how stoked I am that Flare and Fadam lost? I really just don’t understand the fandom behind these couples AT ALL. Clare has made it clear that she wants nothing to do with Fitz, and to put it bluntly, Fiona treated Adam like shit. Adam deserves way better than her.

I want Semma and Dolly J to go all the way. But i know Eclare is going to be in the final round no matter what. Semma is my favorite couple and then Dolly J. Declan went through so much trouble to get with Holly J and then break them up? Eh I hope they get back together in the future..
Final Four prediction: Palex, Semma, Eclare, and Ziley. It makes the most sense, for my own preference and taking into account other people’s favorites. Eclare faces serious competition, and I can honestly see them having an equal chance to win or lose in the end. I will throw a fit if somehow Spane makes it up there, hahaha. Pull it together people!! The only reason I can see Palex losing against Spane is if these are new fans biased towards newer couples, sigh.

Craig/Ellie are my OTP of the show. However, they don’t have much of a chance against Zane/Riley at this point. I like Zane/Riley, so I’m not as mad that they’re continuing on. If it were some other couple against Craig/Ellie, I’d be super mad. However, I know Eli/Clare will be in the Final Four, and probably Sean/Emma too. Not sure about the other two. Maybe Declan/Holly J (if that could be possible) and Peter/Darcy (if that’s possible – not paying attention to brackets right now). Who knows! The voting is biased a bit right now for all the newbies who don’t always appreciate the older cast.

Semma and Dolly J all the freakin’ way! Hell yes! I can’t stand SavvyJ. I find nothing about them compelling and the actors have zero chemistry. Even the simplest things between them look very awkward to me.
I am so rooting for Dolly J. Even though Declan had a pretty awful farewell, remember how hard he had to work to get Holly J’s attention? and their secret relationship, how declan finally told his mom? i think they had some of the best chemistry on the whole show :) sav is nice and all, but I really don’t see chemistry there, and their relationship was purely superficial from the beginning.
another thing that just occurred to me- do sav’s parents know about holly j? i assume not, but it was such a huge deal with anya, and no one’s mentioned it since then..
Although they’ve gotten a bit more serious, I think Sav and Holly J both know their relationship has no future, and I believe they both still plan on parting ways once graduation comes. So I don’t think there’d be much point of going through the trouble of telling his parents about her, haha.
I see EClare as a boring girl dating an obsessed psycho who both have no friends, I don’t really see how they are interesting. Nothing has even happened in their relationship
That’s just because they’re building up to the “Eli drinks Clare’s blood so they’re together like him and Julia are” scene.

I would like it if Semma won by only a bit so Dolly J would have a fair fight. Seriously, besides my intense love for Parcy these two were the epic couples of Degrassi. Definitely the most chemistry and definitely right for each other.
