Kyle from CableTVTalk received some information about TeenNick’s July schedule today. Apparently Season 10 (titled Degrassi: The Boiling Point) will start on TUESDAY, JULY 20th, not Monday as previously thought…This is for TEENNICK only.

That means for the first week ONLY, TeenNick will be behind MuchMusic in airing the episodes. TeenNick has decided to air Degrassi Takes Manhattan on Monday, July 19th.

Once again, that’s for the first week only (I’m being repetitive so people don’t freak out and think it’ll be that way all summer). MuchMusic will air the eps Monday – Thursday, while TeenNick airs them Tuesday – Friday. TeenNick will be back on schedule with MuchMusic the following week, starting Monday, July 26th.

I just got the July grids from TeenNick, the grids have the entire season labeled as “Degrassi The Boiling Point”, they have it running one new episode a day Monday – Thursday, however for the first week, D:NYC will air on 7/19 and for the rest of the week TeenNick will be a day behind Much with 1001 – 1004 running Tuesday – Friday, the following week has it Monday – Thursday at the same day and time as MuchMusic.

That’s a little annoying. But at least it’ll all be the same for the following week. Just going to have to be careful about those first couple of reviews and when to post them.
Oh and they’re probably doing that so they can count the movie as part of Degrassi: The Boiling Point
How.. unfortunate. I’m just relieved that Canada won’t be ahead the whole entire time. Phew.

Haha! No one would think you’re dumb for asking that question. It’s pretty confusing to me as to why Teennick would be so stupid by airing everything after MuchMusic the first week. I really wanted Season 10′s premiere to like maybe break a record for most views since it’s reviving some fans who haven’t watched since the start of Season 8. THIS SUCKS! It really does.

I think this is very stupid. First of all The Movie is what 2 hours? This is good for a premiere but it was originally a season 9 movie. It doesn’t involved the S10 characters. Second, a Monday is a horrible day for a movie. Last year DGH was either a Friday or Saturday I think. Third, people will be watching the episodes early when someone from Canada uploads it. Lastly, its dumb to have the episodes on Tuesday-Friday one week and then Monday-Thursday another. That’s all for now :)

I’m actually a little upset by this, as well. It may seem petty and something like this wouldn’t usually bug me because it’s only for a week, but it does bug me! I guess it’s because while I have to wait for Degrassi to air in the U.S., in the back of my mind, I’ll know that it’s already aired in Canada, and that makes me feel like I’m missing out. Why can’t Teennick just air the movie on Friday the 16th, and start Season 10 on Monday the 19th! =/
I agree, why must they always make us wait? As far as the movie is concern, they should air it on Friday, and Season 10 on Monday.

Wait, so now I’m confused. Are you saying that Kyle is not completely sure if the movie will air on the 16th and about Season 10 airing a day later?
The movie’s going to air on the 19th and Season 10 will start on the 20th, but the one it seems like he’s unsure of (and that we NEED to know) is if the movie will be airing on BOTH the 16th and the 19th. Now that I think about it, I don’t think TeenNick has ever actually said the movie would air on the 16th…we just assumed that was the case b/c The Exec said MuchMusic would air it on the 16th, and b/c he and Stefan had been saying for the past few months that MuchMusic and TeenNick would be on the same airing schedule this summer.

So i guess that article a couple weeks back was true…the movie is coming on july 19th? which I totally hate because its going to throw sooooooooo many people off, I hate how Teennick always has to have a completely different schedule than canada…but now that i look at the promo, it said that Degrassi is going to be on every night at 9pm. so what are they going to do on fridays after the first week?…recap what happened on mon-thurs?
i would like the recap idea, ’cause most people can’t catch a new episode every night.

The Boiling Point is Season 10. Degrassi Takes Manhattan is Season 9′s movie. Season 10 takes place after the movie.
They showed part of Degrassi Takes Manhattan in part of The Boiling Point episode (even thought it is part of S9) and in the promo it says The Boiling Point starts on July 19th. So I assume that with that article and DTM being part of S10 will air on that Monday for TeenNick
Degrassi Takes Manhattan is not part of Season 10. It is Season 9 still.
What season DTM is a part of is irrelevant. This summer block of episodes (as a whole) are titled, Degrassi: The Boiling Point. That INCLUDES the movie. TeenNick doesn’t go by “Seasons” the way the they’re laid out by the creators, everyone should know this by now…

I don’t “know that”. Maybe it’s because I don’t run my own blog! But No, I disagree. It is irrelevant but Degrassi Goes Hollywood was part of Season 8, whether TeenNick made it like that or not. If the creators of Degrassi make an episode for Season 6, TeenNick (has the right) but shouldn’t air in in 2010 when we are in Season 10. DTM is (suppose to be) apart of “S9″ but as for airing it with their “S10″ promo TeenNick is airing the movie along with or as “S10″. We are in the 10th Season of Degrassi and wheter TeenNick want’s it to be known as the 10th season or not it is… But Matt’s also right that DTM is going to be on the S9 Dvd.

Exactly! …people should know by now that teennick/the-n never goes by “seasons” with their scheduling. They try to stretch out the episodes throughout the year ….its very obvious that DTM is NOT part of season 10…its prob. that the “every degrassi episode” marathon overlapped into that friday, so they just started monday (not that i agree with the dumb schedule).
@sarah and the reason why their prob. doing that is because the movie immediately leads into the season (unlike DGH) because when I saw “much music’s” promo Holly J was just leaving New York…even tho i dnt agree with most of teennick’s scheduling….they actually have logic behind it.
C’mon now, Degrassi Takes Manhattan is obviously part of Season 11.

ok this is kinda confusing. why is Canada’s scheduale always fisrts? somehow, the new episode promos and videos will leak over to the usa.
Because the show is actually filmed in Canada, therefore it is shown in Canada first.
Teen nick/The N really used to mess up the schedule like the first episode of Degrassi, “Mother Child Reunion” was shown as the last episode of Season 1, The season finale of Season 1 was shown as the 3rd episode of Season 2. Also in Season 2 “Shout” was held back until they aired “How Soon is Now.” We all know about the Season 3, “Accidents Will Happen” episode that was held back for 3 years. We got to see Season 6′s and 7′s premieres before the Canadians and don’t forget this past season’s whole thing with the switch, we saw everything after “Why Can’t this be love” before Canada
I know it’s annoying, but because the producers of Degrassi sign the episodes over to TeenNick, TeenNick has the right to do whatever they want with it. No matter what TeenNick does, the episodes are still part of a certain season. I think that if Degrassi is being given to TeenNick, they should respect it and play it in the correct order. But then again, didn’t last season Canada air the S9 episodes out of order?

I just finished making a few animations from the Carnival promo and i noticed that when they showed KC & Jenna and KC backed away,the lights dimmed on him as if he was disappearing or as if he was marked out of the picture…I know im late as hell but i just noticed even though it was solely based on Jenna. Im pretty sure someone already took note of this and/or mentioned

oh my god! i am so pissed at teennick! is it really that difficult for them to show the movie on a friday? they make it feel like DTM is the season 10 (or “The Boiling Point”, or whatever) premiere, but its meant to be the season 9 finale! it deals with characters that arent staying for season 10, and the movie really needs to be set off (i didnt even think the weekend was enough, much less 1 day) from season 10.
not to mention that i get home from camp on the friday, but have to leave again for a week on sunday. and i was so looking forward to getting to see DTM, even if i had to miss the first week of season 10. oh, well. i guess i can find it online, since it will have aired in canada.

I don’t think so. I mainly watch it for Degrassi, but i also watch That 70′s Show and What I Like About You. Plus Degrassi is the only original show on TeenNick that has new episodes.
Also, am i the only person who pronounces Degrassi “Da-Gros-See”? I hate hearing “Da-Grass-See” lol
The annoying part is that they’ve pretty much put NO effort into giving Degrassi help. Instead, they’ve decided to run new Degrassi 4 days a week (which I’m not complaining about that, it’s the fact it’s just a “patch” for the network’s ratings vs. the networks it competes against). I mean the Nick brand has put together a DOMINANT primetime lineup on Nickelodeon with iCarly leading the way…as a matter of fact it’s consistently the #1 rated show on ALL of cable tv. Surely they can use some brainpower to turn TeenNick into more than just a network with reruns and Degrassi.
I pronounce it “Duh-grass-ee”, and always have. Sam Earle responded to someone on his twitter, saying that they pronounce it “Duh-grass-ee”. I don’t like when someone says “duh-GROS-ee”, lol sorry. =]

Does anyone know if the Canadian episodes will be in HD? I wish Teen Nick was HD but I will choose to download them if I can watch them in HD verses non-HD. At least Teen Nick could run them letterbox… I always feel like I’m missing something.
