Wow. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I looked at the final results. The Emma vs. Spinner matchup was crazy when Spin won by only three votes, but THIS was insane. You can’t script an ending like that.
I causally checked the results over the voting period and Paige held onto the lead for most of the time. Then in about the last 10 hours of voting is when her lead started disappearing and it became one of those things where Ellie and Paige kept going back and forth.

I voted Ellie! Hard choice speaking both of these characters were some of the most interesting and had some of the greatest plots in Degrassi history. It’s tough.
Ellie was always more of a favorite of mine than Paige, but I still like them both!
I feel exactly the same. I’ve always felt like Ellie was a character I could root for and feel a genuine empathy and understanding for, which the exception of Season 7, which was quite out of character.
But Paige is one of the Degrassi characters that I could never HATE. I love her a lot of the time, dislike her sometimes, but the first episode I ever watched was the Season 4 premiere of her rape case and as a result, I’ll always have a special place in my heart for her.
But Ellie’s the one I root for, no matter what.
Go girl power! I’ve always been able to identify more with Ellie, myself (at least pre-season 5).

Actually, there’s often a difference between who you chose and you predict will win. I can choose people I don’t think will win– I base my votes on how good a character I think they are, not by majority opinion.

Sometimes there is a difference between who you like, and who you predict everyone else will like. For instance, I like Spinner over JT and would’ve loved to see Spin win it all, but in my prediction bracket I chose JT to go all the way. Now a huge majority of my prediction picks coincided with who I wanted to win, but I chalk that up to being coincidence. A lot of my predictions were based on which character seemed to be the most popular with fans over the years, and all of the First and Second round matchups seemed like no-brainers.

Just because someone said “I voted for Paige! I hope she wins!” doesn’t mean they think she will actually win. Even refering to comments, it’s not the same thing at all.

I voted for Ellie and I think she’ll win. By the comments and the thumbs up/thumbs down ratings, it looks like she’s ahead. But of course, that’s not factoring in the opinions of people who didn’t comment or rate the comments. It could be that Ellie supporters are just more vocal about it, though I think that’s the case.
So I just found out that the whole Declan/Clare/Holly J. Plot is part of Broken PROMises. You can tell because those clips appear alongside the sav/anya clips in the little teaser trailer that appears on the bottom screen and clues people in to what’s goin’ down in the next new episode. Note. Clare says “you USED me!” to Declan, so Declan obviously used Clare to get back at Holly J. For some odd reason. The way she said it makes it seem like Clare ACTUALLY for him. Since it’s airing BEFORE heart like mine, this is REALLY gonna confuse the fans. And what is WRONG with alli??? Johnny’s ALWAYS been a bad boy! He hiked into the ravine with another girl IMMEDIATELY after they broke up! Oh, well i’m a virgin too. Blah blah! Did she ACTUALLY believe that crap???
wrong :) the declan/holly j/clare could be a plot in broken promises, but the clips also consists of kc telling the coach off and that was in heart like mine.
and im guessing myself that clare falls for declan,
but she also said she wants to win KC back, so
maybe she is using Declan. but maybe that is two different clips and shes not even with declan they just make it look like it, or maybe its the school play or something else, promos are deceiving

Yes, I agree with Shannon, the promos are deceiving. That plot isn’t going to be in Broken PROMises, I’m pretty sure of that.
I agree with the fact that someone is using someone, obviously, but we’ll have to wait and see.
It was a very hard decision. :( I love both Paige and Ellie. They have the best stories in Degrassi. In the end, I chose Ellie though simply because I can relate to her more.

The new degrassi promo makes me want broken promises to be here quicker.When clare says ” You used me” was she talking to declan? Because i got confused on that part.And i have never seen Anya cry like that before!And also what makes me think is how when alii says ”Read my lips,We’re over” to johnny then that means that he wants her back and we hyave never actually seen him show that he wants her back,cause she always goes back to him.I just cant wait for broken promises so it can answer some of our questions.
