Love...lies...and betrayal...Degrassi's back April 2nd on TeenNick.
FINALLY!!!!!!!!
It’s about time someone in the magical world of Degrassiland got off their butt and told us SOMETHING about Degrassi this Spring.
Degrassi officially returns to TeenNick on Friday, April 2nd at 9pm ET. They’ll pick up where they left off with “Heart Like Mine.” Now I don’t know yet if they’ll just air the rest of Season 9 straight through, or if they’re going to air maybe 4 or 5 episodes then take another break…we’ll have to see.
There’s also a brand new mini on the way titled “Good Times.” I’m only gonna give you a few of hints about it since it’s not out yet:
*it involves Jane, the Studz and a few others
*it’s broken into 4 parts….it’s edited way, WAY better than the last several minis, so each part doesn’t end awkwardly
*it was so random…the show pokes fun at itself and i laughed myself to tears

Now as of writing this (3/4/10), there’s STILL no word on when Degrassi will start back up on CTV. I knew Degrassi wouldn’t be back until March 14th at the earliest (because the Oscars are this Sunday), but Degrassi isn’t listed on the CTV schedule for the 14th either. Now the earliest Degrassi will be back on CTV is the 21st, and I’m not so sure if they’ll do that either…until they say otherwise, I’m just going to assume CTV won’t bring back Degrassi until April.
On one final note, next is a big week: The Exec makes his official announcement! Yes we already know Season 10 is going to have 48 episodes, but I’m hoping that The Exec will have much more Degrassi news in store for us than just that.

Um… Kary? Where did you fine this at??? Anyway, I’ve got some rather breaking news as well. 1: Ray Ablay shaved his beard. And 2? Have you been to Argy’s twitter lately? Around 23 hours ago, he confirmed that Riley? IS In Season 10. And guess what? He also tweeted that EVERY EPISODE WILL BE A TWO-PARTER, SO DESPITE NOT BEING HOUR-LONG EPISODES, IT SEEMS AS THOUGH 48 EPISODES WILL AIR IN 24 ONE-HOUR BLOCKS!!!
I don’t know who to believe…because The Exec said they WEREN’T going to all be two parters. Somebody is yanking our chains!!! I can’t wait till it’s all cleared up.
Thats what i was thinking 24-1 hr episodes. Because i really cant see them doing 48-1 hr eps. Either way, im glad we got some good news. I’m just curious now to see how Season 9 will finish

Alright, that’s great news! I’m very excited about this! Although Hearts Like Mine was a great two episodes, I still cringe at certain parts of it.
Stephen Stohn tweeted that Degrassi would return to CTV in March, or at least he thinks, so let’s hope it’s maybe the last Sunday of the month? And I’m excited for his BIG announcement too!
How do hear about these minis Kary? Do you know someone on the inside? It still puzzles me. But I still appreciate you sharing the news with us.
In the picture Anya looks pissed; Sav probably cheats on her with his arranged wife. I just want to give her a BIG hug. Also I hope that part of the announcement for next week is that Degrassi will be rated 14 or MA. If teens in England can handle the TV Show Skins, then teens in America and Canada should be able to handle cussing, strong violence, and nudity(not just because I want to see those things, but if Degrassi is “about to get real” then those things would make it much more realistic).
I hate to say it but the long breaks are making me forget about Degrassi. I cant even find any decent spoilers anymore. And the only reason I got a twitter was to watch you post updates! So I just wanted to say thanks for doing the hard work and letting me rediscover my love for degrassi through your site and twitter. :D
Yeah, and if this school is even gonna come close to getting wild, they’re going to have to up the anti at some point. So, Kary, you’re saying this should be airing tomorrow on Teennick? Does this mean you haven’t seen it yet? Btw, the Degrassi Goes Hollywood premiere took place an entire month after the movie actually premiered(which is odd), so Stephen Stohn pretty much implied that DTM will be taking place in June, with it’s premiere taking place in July. And speaking of which: Doesn’t the entire cast attend those things?
The only bad thing is, is that for those of us who have seen the eps until Holiday Road, will still have to wait like a month to see Why cant this be love, that is unless CTV decides to start degrassi back up soon.

And Heart Like Mine, Parts One and Two are supposed to air two different weeks on Teennick. This could just be me, but when they first aired Love Games, it was like watching an episode on The Click. HOPE HTL isn’t the same way.

Since the first day of summer is July 21st, Season 10 would be premiering on the 12th day. He said early summer, but don’t expect it to be the first week. Don’t you mean June 21st cause summer always starts in June, not July. I also doubt that they would premiere Degrassi Takes Manhattan on May 28th cause many schools in America, not sure about Canada, haven’t even started their summer vacation yet, which probably includes NYC.

Thank god it is coming back on in early April. I was disappointed with Love Games. I think they should get back to real topics and issues, but I will take any new episodes no matter what they are aboooot. New Degrassi soon!!!!! That is Cuckoo Bananas!!!!!!!

I always knew KC/Jenna was just a plot device for HLM and Clare’s storyline. I just hope she doesn’t push herself to do anything too extreme.

Tonight from 8-12 they are showing all the season 9 episodes that have premiered so far in order. So they will probably show the new promo then.

Declan & Claire? Wow!!! It IS about to get real…… you know, back in the day, Craig did get on my nerves, but he grew on me and I learned to love his character. I love that Declan is a hottie, and smart, etc., but Claire has values and I think he would just trample all over her heart. And what the hell happened to him and Holly J? They were just all over each other in Love Games. Oh I just cannot wait. I need new Degrassi NOW!!!! And yes, Manny’s Boobs, he is overexposed. They have done enough on him. Moving on……….who do you guys want to see more of?

im i the only one who’s concerned that it looks like anya really did do something terrible and “why cant this be love?” will almost definitely see the end of Sanya? because im kinda freaking out about this. they’re my favorite couple and anya’s my favorite character and i really really really dont want to believe that she lies! especially since it seems like she’s gonna tell sav that she’s pregnant or something. or at least, thats the rumor.
I doubt that Claire and Declan will hookup cause they haven’t even really had any social interaction with each other. My guess is that once Jenna steals KC away from Claire she will try getting with Declan to make KC jealous. Then Holly J sees them together and also gets jealous so she asks Declan if he loves her or Claire.
i feel as though that episode might be Keep on Loving You. or Innocent When You Dream. or In Your Eyes. you know, really any of the titles could fit. but im pretty sure its the A-plot for one of them!
Well, Declan and Clare intereact a bit in Start Me Up (Episode 14). But there’s nothing that shows they would ever get together in that episode. The promo is so exciting though! I really can’t wait for the episodes to come back!

Um, the TV don’t care if we’re still in school. They can still air a summer episode. Duh! And maybe the actual promo for Broken Promises new promos during the re-airing of Just Can’t Get Enough(which they did not rename, by the way), through Love Games, air the Broken Promises promo during School Gyrls on the 19th, and air the Degrassi Takes Manhattan promo during Broken Promises.

OMG i just saw the second “Broken PROMises” promo. their playing “why can’t this be love” first!

I just found out that “Broken Promises” is actually “Why Can’t This Be Love?”, so it looks like TeenNick will air the episodes out of order and switch “Heart Like Mine” with “Why Can’t This Be Love?”
But that won’t make sense! I mean, what if KC and Jenna are at the prom together? And there are two episodes after Heart Like Mine, (913 and 914) that are critical to the Season as well. Maybe they’ll show more than one on the night? But that doesn’t sound like Teennick. Or maybe they’ll start before April 2? Then they would say that. I’m so confused!
But, that promo for the Prom episodes was GREAT! I’m so excited! I don’t want to wait a month! :(

Yeah it won’t make much sense but I’m happy their airing it first because I’ve already seen 911-914 so it will be nice to actually see a new episode, since I haven’t seen one since November. But I really think they should have aired 911-914 right after “Waiting For a Girl Like You” and “Somebody” because they could have already been up to “Why Can’t This Love?” tonight.
I totally agree…..but who knows what the folks at teennick are up to….they try to make degrassi a year round thing…so this could be a good thing (for the movie) if they decide to shell out all the remaining episodes back to back so they can premiere the movie alittle earlier this year ?*crosses fingers*
Yeah, Manny Boobs, I’m really starting to prefer 70-90s sitcoms over modern crap. The truth? I still watch the ole’ PBS stuff on TV(excluding Barney) make fun of me if you want. I just can’t let go! And any thought of cutting my childhood out completely just makes me wanna cry!!! T-T although, it could always be post-partum depression ever since those mean storage unit people sold all our stuffs(even photos. Who’s gonna buy our photos. Well, first I am going to say that this blog is awesome. Props to you, Kary. Secondly, I can tell that there is a lot of apprehension as to what will happen in the next Degrassi shows. There is also a lot of different interpretations as to what little stints TeenNick is giving us in the commercials. Sav and Anya, Holly J and Declan, Clare and Declan… Lots of drama, as usual. I must admit, there is a lot going on here, but I’m just going to wait until it premiers on April 2nd. Oh yeah, and I really hated how they showed Love Games, and then just left us hanging. It was just to keep us happy until April. I am loving this new season; hopefully the new episodes are worth the wait.
