Degrassi Love Games (Waiting For A Girl Like You/Somebody) is the only new Degrassi TeenNick gets this February.
So not much has been happening out in the open in the Degrassi world lately, but there’s quite a bit of random stuff happening beind the scenes:
*TeenNick watchers mark your calendar: ACESONLINE confirmed that Degrassi “Love Games” will air on Friday, February 5th at 9pm ET. Apparently this is going to be the ONLY new episode of Degrassi airing in February, because no other episodes are listed in that month’s highlights.
I have no earthly idea why that’s all we’re getting, so I’ll just blame it on the Winter Olympics (even though I can’t think of a reason why it’d have an impact on the network’s schedule). Well at least I guess that means they have 9 episodes to stretch out through spring and early summer until the Degrassi movie.

*Season 10 is being written as I type this. After brainstorming sessions between writers and storyline pitches to TeenNick, Season 10 is officially a go. One thing that’ll be interesting to see is the casting changes for Season 10….who’s staying, who’s going, and what new faces might appear.

*It looks like Degrassi will now start airing in Australia!! It’s literally been YEARS since a “new” episode of Degrassi has aired down under. I remember years ago them being stuck on Season 3 for the longest time, not realizing they had stopped airing the show altogether. Well from the sound of Stefan Brogren’s tweets, it looks like they’ll pick up around Season 4. So if you think TeenNick being five or six episodes behind CTV is bad, try being five or six SEASONS behind.

I also saw from Stephen Stohn’s (or Stefan Brogren, not quite sure) twitter that for season 10 they’ll try to start showing the episodes closer together, so there won’t be as big of a gap in the states and Canada!!
I have a thought about this whole Teennick thing. Maybe they are showing “Love Games (Waiting For A Girl Like You/Somebody)” because of the romance content in it and Valentine’s day. The next episodes after that are “Heart Like mine” Parts one and two. Maybe they want to start off with an actual Two-Parter in the Spring since we can tell from the clothing in these eps that it is definitely already spring at Degrassi. Just my thought.

I don’t think that the end of KC and Clare would be so depressing. Most of my friends here in the states hate them together, so I think we will be okay.
I honestly would rather have KC and Clare be together. Him and Jenna were horrible together. No chemistry and forced.

so when waiting for a girl like you/somebody airs it s around valentines day in the degrasi world right? but there was already a valentines day in season 8 (lost in love).
that would mean that school in s8 started in late august early september,lost in love(valentines day) would be in february, and danger zone would air in december because connor mentioned that it was the last thursdey before he went home for winter break. that makes no sense!!!!!
I’m pretty sure “Lost In Love” took place in October even though it was Valentines Day themed.
Actually they didn’t have Valentine’s in “Lost in Love”. It was just a sweetheart dance for sweetheart week the student Council was doing at Degrassi.

NEW UPDATE!!! I DEMANDED the exec spill the news. He says, “lol. the news will be spilled soon enough.” !!! And also, ellie’s apparently supposed to be in seasons 9 AND 10, so… And in “keep on loving you”, manny believes that jay will change forever. No word yet on whether or not theyre still together during D:NYC SUMMER OF LOVE, in which manny will be starting. Apparently, the new tagline for season 10 is: GET READY FOR SOME CRAZY.
Manny is staring in it? Is this the writers way of kicking her off the show? Like in Degrassi Goes Hollywood, Paige, Marco, Craig, and Ellie all had major roles, and were then written off the show. Except Marco since he comes back as a teacher.

Last time I checked Degrassi wasn’t a real high school. So, you can hardly compare a fictional high school like Degrassi to your school. Just saying.
For one thing, degrassi is amazingly real, despite being fictional, if you think about it. And also, how do i get my information? Seriously? no one tells me how they get theirs, so im not telling you where. But there ARE other resources. Scour the internet. The execs twitter and myspace are NOT the only inside source around.

Kay, any site that has information FROM the exec posted ON a website would be correct, no? And im just wisely using my resources. Any experienced blogger knows that you’re not ALWAYS gonna be right, so if some of the information turns out to be wrong, then boo freaking hoo. And things change. Being In america, its an upside for me that you guys got pushed back, but do you NOT remember the original airdate for Why Cant This Be Love? Being pushed from december 8th, 2009 all the way up until april at the least? Moving on…

But that’s the thing, though. I dont wanna reveal where something’s at if there’s even the slightest chance it’s wrong. I didnt get it from wikipedia. Ill tell ya that much. Well, except for the ellie thing. Her storyline wrapped up rather nicely in season 8. i mean, they brought Her father back, and his departure caused all that drama with her in seasons 3/4. Though, in its own right, the degrassi wikipedia page has been locked. Its surprisingly accurate now. It’s not the best source of information, but daybyday their working on it, so dont be too sketchy to check there, either.
Stefan Brogren tweeted about doing a rough outline for the new opening credits. He mentions Jane. I wonder if this means that she is going to be in Season 10?

You know what? They should TOTALLY create a US-based degrassi spinoff, with one of the main students at the school transferring to another. They could call it: DEGRASSI PRESENTS: SOUTH OF THE BORDER. And also, kary, can you please do a post of ALL the deleted scenes, what theyre about, and what season theyre in? I mean, unless you wanna be brainwashed into thinking that degrassi is a religious show, anya is related to ronald mcdonald, everyones hooked up with everyone, theres been an animated series, buffy is on it, and thereve been crossovers with the oc then go ahead, but i have never in my entire life been more disgusted with the internet. rockerboy, when u said that the tagline for season 10 would be “get ready for some crazy”, did u see that on stefan brogren’s twitter. cause he said a while ago “Degrassi writers on their way to creating season 10! Get ready for some crazy!”. but i dont think he meant that that was the tagline.
Oh. Yeah. I saw it there. But he also said this school is gonna get wild, so… But since season 8 was get ready for degrassi, it just seemed like a tagline. Then again, when they started saying “Degrassi. It’s about to get real,” i know a lot of people who thought they had changed the name. But every Season has a tagline, so… Even the individual so called “seasons” have taglines, so… Whatever it is, we’ll find out soon!
Get this. According to something wikipedia’s never wrong about, the season 10 dvd cover art is gonna be pink. Join me in harrassing the exec until he caves in and creates another halloween special, and a special explaining what happened to all the characters that just went poof! And also, the season 10 movie should be called degrassi maui, here we come, cause their running out of interesting locales!
Or…how about they make a movie that actually takes place in T.O.?? I thought DGH was great and I’m assuming this new one in NYC will be good too, but I hope they don’t get into a habit of feeling like they should or HAVE to rely on sending the characters off to some big city for every movie.

Yeah, but not everyone wants to move to the big cities and become famous. Some peoples “dreams” are to stay where they are, get a well-paying job, and live a good life. Also it won’t be realistic if everyone that wants to be famous “makes it big”. They should teach people that you can’t always get what you want in life, cause thats REALITY.

Hahah nope, there’s no news to report. There’s been nothing! :-/ But at least TeenNick gets new episodes this week!!!
So watch them pull a total season six on us and air only a few episodes (in this case, only 2 having been aired in season 9′s second so-called season) and then go on hiatus until late june.
Look at the facts. They’ve just started writing, won’t start filming until march, and this would give them…what? Say, 2 1/2 months for them to film 8-12 episodes over a matter of june to late july, making up the first “season” of season 10? Yeah. Not gonna happen.
There’d be very little time for rehearsal, and therefore the whole thing would just feel to rushed along, and if you’re looking to give the audience that sort of a feel about the show? You should at least wait until the final season to do it, whereas reception really wouldnt matter anyway. Ps: is it just me, or are those teennick advertisements REALLY corny?

Looking at K.O.L.Y’s plotline( KC IS SHOCKED TO LEARN HOW MUCH LOVE HE STILL FEELS FOR CLARE, MANNY MUST LEARN THAT JAY CANT CHANGE FOREVER), and just looking at the pair in question, he probably dumps jenna to get back with clare. And good riddance. Jenna’s a slut. Honestly, who ADMITS to being a girlfriend/boyfriend stealer, and proceeds to be bubbly and sweet? It’s pointless and lame. If i wanted to steal someone from some1, which is something i dont do, id just do it.

It stands for keep on loving you, and i wrote the plotline in parenthesis. Blue is nothing more than a background character, stephen said the picture has nothing to do with season 10, remember? And kary said the movie has to deal with declan, fiona, jane, and holly j. Traveling to new york, but we have NO IDEA what it’s about. They need to get this crap straightened out!

I heard that either emma or manny were starring in it, but that’s never been confirmed. But on the degrassi wiki it says, “in THE REST OF MY LIFE, Manny…” and just stops there. What a ripoff! And also, could you post a link to this photo?
well, Annie Clark (Fiona) said on her twitter that there was a wedding in the movie. my guess is either manny+jay or maybe jane+spinner….
Wow. Looking at who’s starring in it… Wait… Can’t be spinner and jane. She cheated on him. She’s not gonna marry him four months later, which means Spolly J. Could still be a go! And if theyre not? Nick Cannon and his ads are both fake, and can go suck it! And what the hell happened to the holly/alli catfight?! seems everythings just peachy with them this season. They’ve been in ONE episode, and nothings happened with the two of them. So maybe jay/manny get married. But if keep on loving you’s plot is confirmed, then i doubt it. Look what happened the first time.
declan and jane are DEFINETLY in it. i saw pic of the the 2 on a websiteand you could see new york behind them so they are in it. maybe manny and jay get married but anyone can edit that thing so who knows!! but the fanmade season 10 sounds like it could work
speaking of alli’s disappearence…am i the only one who’s thinking that there are getting to be too many characters? i mean, a bunch of the characters are only showing up in 1-2 episodes all season. i miss the first few seasons where any given person was there like half the time.
i know like blue was only in 2 episodes this whole season. first one part 2. and then only a see see role in beat it.

And i totally agree with you. It’s like, they have their climax in the first few episodes, and the rest are merely subplots and supporting roles! WTF is that?!?!?

Yes it’s possible. A lot of them have other shows, they’re performing on stage, in movies, and a lot of them are heavily involved in music.
Well, i think the movie plotline is completely true. If sav does have bone cancer, that would explain why he’s not on the wiki’s real season 10 page’s character list, which was revealed way before the plot of the movie. Weep-weep. I hope to god he doesn’t die. But that riley plotline BETTER BE TRUE, and i hope to god he goes to toronto u. And gets with… I’ll say no more.

Ok, Im sorry I love Degrassi, and its an amazing show but the writers of degrasssi need to get off of their lazy butts and write some new degrassi epiodes! i mean seriously, its been like 2 months since degrassi came out with a new episode! i mean, i could’ve written an entire season in the time it takes them to come out with one episode!!!!
its not the writers’ fault. its the tv station: either ctv or teennick, depending what country you’re in. they are being stingy with premiering new episodes; the episodes themselves are completely done.
Yeah I hate that TeenNick and CTV won’t premiere new episodes yet. But I can also see how it’s the writers and producers fault. If the writers wrote more episodes and more were produced for each season then TeenNick and CTV wouldn’t have to spread the episodes out as much and have long breaks. This is what I think they should do. Since each season now represents a semester they should air two seasons each school year. Each season (semester) would have about 20 episodes. The first semester would air from the end of September through December. Then the second semester would air from March through June. Then have the Degrassi Movie in the Middle of July. Thats just what I think.
